I've been really lazy lately, and have been ordering my draft motors with the mounting plate and spacers. I just put new nuts on. I don't need to bring a sawzall on the roof anymore 😂

I service and maintain over 30 of these units every month and can not recall a failure of any rollouts or high limits. pilot tubes and venter motors though? That's a different story!

Great video! You're absolutely right about that rollout switch. Also, those little rollouts or high limits in the heat exchanger compartment can create havoc as well. I had to change them out on the coldest day this winter.

I always carry 1/4” hard drawn copper to replace the spacers between the motor and plate.

found out years ago after i replaced everything else. Now on inspection I kick or hit the side of a york sunline unit to see if the burner turns off to test for weak roll outs

This video is exactly what I'm up against when I go back to a call Tommarrow that i was at.i had no spark on ignition on 2nd stage module ireplaced ignition control and still no spark I tried another ignition control that did not have the r1 rollout terminal on it and I had spark ,I checked rollout had continuity so at this point I'm going back with a new rollout switch hopefully that was my problem all along.thanks for video hopefully its a quick fix

Are these backward- or forward curved blades?
@HVACKnowItAll5 жыл бұрын
Forward curved
@Luzt.5 жыл бұрын
@@HVACKnowItAll Thanks. I make an effort to be able to judge "forward/backward-curved" just by sight and possibly application. I'd always mark old/new fans but some previous guy might have made a mistake.

Blow out those pilot tubes with nitro!! Every maintenance!!
@philipwall10255 жыл бұрын
I'll be honest I never had to always change a module every season,with thos particular units and there one of a kind design, pm s are must for maintenance on the crossover tube,the separation between the spark and the crossover is a must ,I would bet the farm that's what u have goin on,very sensitive that design with the crossover tube,spider webs after the summer,or moth nest.
@HVACKnowItAll5 жыл бұрын
The video never stated that the module every season. I said the roll out should be replaced on every heating repair and I explained in detail why.
@philipwall10255 жыл бұрын
I use a mirror to visually see spark ,Dont go based on sound,get a visual on your spark use a mirror and visually ID GOOD SPARK.never had to routinely change modules and rollouts,HAD TO ROUTINELY CLEAN ,ADJUST,NUISANCE CROSSOVER TUBE ISSUES TRUST ME DAWG
@HVACKnowItAll5 жыл бұрын
The module is not a routine change out, it's not generating a spark. The roll out on York, rtus is a must to replace, they cause a lot of problems, intermittent and direct.
