Considering Mimihime, I think it's heavily implied that she is Hoshio. Usami has the same technical abilities as Shiro who liked her. Mimihime seemed to have future vision abilities (shown in episode 1). She mentions in episode 1 that whenever she thinks of going outside, two people help her. One looking like Tokio. My two cents.

Yes, Mimihime is Hoshio. She mentions that 2 people from the outside, one looking like Tokio, would come and save her, and that's basically what happened in the latest episode. Maru and his "sis" came and saved her

The fact that he gave her his eye just so that she can have one thing in life that makes her happy. That she can see him make stuff and that she can look at the sky... Both Oshi no Ko EP6 and this episode of Heavenly Delusion were absolutely heartbreaking this week. Even Hell's Paradise was really emotional. HD proved that it's peak with this episode. Wow.

Those with an eye for detail may have noticed that when the bald Liviumen member tells the protestors that their leader Mizuhashi had died, the exact scene before that has their leader bedridden shows Mizuhashi’s mouth still clearly moving/breathing. There is some cut dialogue from the manga, specifically when the Liviumen are laying siege to the Immortal Order, where an Immortal Order member (one of the guys with a mustache) try to tell the invading Liviumen that Mizuhashi’s leg had been necrotic when she was originally admitted to the Immortal Order, and that if her leg hadn’t been amputated, she would have been at serious risk of dying. And if it wasn’t obvious by the end of the episode, yes the insignia on the button Dr. Usami was holding before he killed himself, is indeed the same design as the one on Kiruko’s Kiru-Beam/laser-gun. Also those who have watched this series’ ED enough times may have noticed that this episode contained a neat visual parallel/reference to one of the visuals located near the end of the ED. For those interested in reading along with the manga, Episode 8 adapted the remainder of chapter 20 (19/32 pages), all of chapter 21, the first 7 pages of chapter 22 and then 5 pages from a different middle part of chapter 22 (so 12/24 pages), and then finally the first 6 pages of chapter 23 (6/30 pages). Total, this is equivalent to about 2.3 chapters worth of manga. According to Masakazu Ishiguro on Twitter, the remaining parts of chapter 22 had to be cut completely from the anime for like run-time related reasons (i.e. apparently they won't be included at the beginning of episode 9). And if anyone is interested in starting the manga after this season is finished (it is currently planned to adapt up to some part of tankōbon Volume 6 of the manga, likely somewhere in the range of chapters 34-37), I personally would still recommend starting the manga from the beginning regardless, as in addition to the standard cutting of extra dialogue and scenes from the anime for run-time and cinematic pacing, the chapter titles and cover pages of the manga also play a role in experiencing the foreshadowing of the story that the anime can’t quite replicate (due to the inherent difference in mediums). The mangaka of Heavenly Delusion, Masakazu Ishiguro (who is active on Twitter), their most well known previous work is “And Yet the Town Moves” (also known as Soremachi), which was serialized from 2005-2016. They have also done a number of other single volume manga and short stories collections. Ishiguro's has also stated that the major influences for the Heavenly Delusion series, include the works Akira, Armored Trooper Votoms, and an old Japanese science-fiction novel titled "Dogra Magra" that was written Kyūsaku Yumeno (who appears as a character in Bungo Stray Dogs) and published in 1935.

This episode was amazingly done for how heartbreaking it was. But one thing is on my mind here... The leader of the Protestants claimed that the doctor amputated her leg so...does that mean she was infected? Now that she's supposedly "dead" I feel like we're in a shit ton of problems now.

The author said that due to time issues regarding the episode's minute length they had to cut a couple of parts from the manga (It would have been nice to see them but I don't think they are that crucial to the plot). Mizurashi actually did not die; they faked her death to take advantage of the moment. Her leg was necrotic; the doctor had to amputate it.

this anime literally foreshadow everything, and gives us everything for us to connect it by ourselves. They don't spoonfed you the reveal or infos. The more you go the more you will realize hahaha They even made it more obvious in the anime

I have a theory and somehow it make sense, Mimihime has an ability where she has foresight right? Then we can conclude that dream is a part her ability, Dr Usami looks like Shiro (the white hair horny kid in the facility) and Mimihime looks like the girl who just died. They both died together at the end of the episode, going back to the dream of Mimihime, I think it symbolizes her passing where she is alone in the darkness at first then Shiro/Dr Usami later joined her holding her hand. She also said at some point that she saw someone look like Tokio, I think Haru is the baby man-eater in last couple of episodes where she saw Tokio and I think somehow copied her face since it doesn't have any and is attached to Tokio.

I'm using a translator, sorry. I'm a manga reader, but this episode went beyond the manga 🥹 The eyes, facial expressions, and gestures of the characters were so detailed that they were beautiful and IG-like. The voices of the characters and the nostalgic music and background were also good! I think it's probably a little later that you'll understand the meaning of this episode and be moved. And The ED is about Usami and her and it made me cry 🥹Carson previously noticed that the button was on school uniform, so It's a big clue!! And Lindsay realizes that the last episode didn't mention school. This time there was a little school episode at the end. This composition has meaning and was also in the statement of the author of twitter. (It was also good that the composition was changed from the manga!) Although it was cut in the anime, the author also speaks about Mr. Mizuhashi. It is a work that is connected in various ways when looking back from the first episode. I was happy that this episode was carefully made. For that reason, there are many cuts, and the progress is fast, so the game is how far the anime will be broadcast 🤔I think it would be difficult to increase the number of mysteries and keep the story from getting cluttered, but I think it's okay because it feels like an anime in which the author intervenes relatively 😊

I made this theory from a comment I saw under this vdo What if Dr Usami and the girl who died where Mimihime and the guy who got her nude picture? He said "she liked when I made things" And that guy would always be making things when we saw him (also they both look similar) In first ep Mimihime said she had a dream where a person looking like Tokito came to save her In this ep after the Dr kills himself we see Mimihime in the dark and then we see someone join her Then she said "I had a dream" And from the first ep we know she has a ability to kind off see in the future This also strengthens ur guys theory of the facility being in the past

Anime only here! and I only realized this because of the thick eyelashes, but doesn't the sick girl and Mimihime look similar? Dr. Asami also looked like one of the children at the facility. The tall guy with white hair that is attracted to Mimihime, his name was Shiro if I'm not wrong. Not only do they both have the same hair color and eye shape, they're both are into techs. So in Mimihime's dream, the person that reaches their arm to her might be Shiro, seeing as the other person is taller than her. I don't know what any of these mean tho. How are they connected?

A major reveal this ep. The man eaters are like zombies. Dead humans due to disease. Also the doctor must be really smart considering he's making prosthetics in such an apocalyptic city and also keeping the girl barely alive. After 7 episodes of craziness, this one hit the sad spot. Usami giving his eye for a dying girl/possible man-eater, makes him an MVP of this show currently. I wasn't ready for Usami suciding, looks like he lost his reason to help others and live. Now that we have a good idea of Man eaters, the question remains is what is Maru? I have three theories. 1) He contracted the disease but it didn't affect him like it is supposed to, kind of like hybrid. 2) He is an experiment/mutant either to test man eaters or to kill them. 3) He developed some kind of immunity, considering how diseases work differently here. But 1 and 3 still cannot explain why he is able to kill man eaters so easily, so I'm going to stick with 2. In the end I can only say one thing... WATASHI KININARIMASU!

It seems like all kids in "Heaven" have each an special supernatural ability. Kuku being able to stick to walls, Mimihime seeing visions of the future, Tarao having super strenght, etc. I think being able to reach inside man-eaters and kill them from the inside is just Maru's special ability, so that makes me think Maru comes from that place.

The episode felt more like a few minutes than 20 minutes for you? That weirdly sounds like my experience with certain anime in a nutshell. Where certain episodes are padded out with flashbacks and internal monologues. Apparently Dr Usami and his patient are gonna be one of those "you'll know more about them after their death later down the line" type of characters. So keep an eye out for more info about them in later episodes or chapters.

Not necessarily, it might have been that Hoshio had her voice cords a year prior to all this, or that theres a machine that auto reads the stuff from the tablet, since the voice sounded robotic.

It's not a spoiler, I haven't touched the manga. Just some food for thought. If you check all the time stamps on camera footage from previous episodes (for example, ep 2) and line it up with the dates given in episode 3 you'd have some new ideas. And after that you might want to give some characters a proper examination. That's what I did, and even though I still don't understand everything, I certainly understand why they showed us that scene at the end.
