I would guess he's doing such heavy singles because he's working towards his mock meet and is testing where he's at for that. Of course you have to try and hit higher numbers when getting towards a meet, but it always sucks to get injured trying.

Spotter on the right in video (left) had no clue on how to spot. If he had his hands like the guy on the left (right) they possibly had a chance to help. Was he planning on curling the weight up?!

My thoughts exactly, get closer to the bar, you can't curl 480 pounds bud. Larry is a nice guy and didn't say anything but that injury could have been avoided if he didn't have to sit in the hole that long.
@MrArcticPOWER
@MrArcticPOWER 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think most people can hold that kind of weight in that position anyway. And look how empty the gym is, there's most likely not a lot a people qualified to spot a 950lbs squat. If you were asked to spot him, would you say no and let him squat without a spot? Because I sure wouldn't want to be in that guy's shoes.

@MdoubleHB It's not "just" because of drugs. It's because of amazingly hard work over a long period of time with utmost consistency. Drugs definitely help. There's no denying that. But being a lifetime natural weightlifter myself (45 years) I know how much work goes into achieving these goals.
