My most iconic sporting moment ever: Lasha Talakhadze's 225/267 kg snatch/c&j for a weighlifting total of 492 kg at the last olympic games. Not only is he the only person to ever total 480 kg, but his total is even over 490 kg. Before him, 220 kg snatch was considered impossible, and it's still never been achieved by anyone else, but he not only did that, but increased it to 225 just by himself. Also, except his weightlifting records, all other weightlifting world records for all other categories have never bettered the old records from the 80s and 90s. His achievements go beyond any other achievements in any sport, in my opinion.

That 207kg was such sheer force of will. It's crazy that you can lift 3 of me above your head! My greatest sporting moment was Michael Johnson coming off the bend in the 200m at the Atalanta Olympics. He came off of the bend so far ahead and absolutely decimated the world record. It wasn't bettered until 2008 by Usain Bolt and only 2 men have run 200m quicker in 27 years. It changed the reference point of what was possible.

I was in 10th grade and I was a puny 125 lbs. My max bench press was 95 lbs.... wait for laughter.... and basically the weakest in the class. By the end of that same school year, I maxed at 215 lbs. Not only was I one proud little fellow, but my coach was happy as hell. He couldn't believe it. I think I made the most progress in the class that year. No supplements or anything. I was there in the audience and the vibe was electric. Or for a "real" sporting moment: Watching Janja Garnbret top the final boulder in Vail making her the first person in history to win every single bouldering world cup in a full season. In my first amateur season in the lowest league, I won 3-2 in our home pub against the best player of the league after being 2-0 behind and having several match darts against me. With this individual win, we won 8-7 as a team and won the league. The crowded pub went completely crazy at my last dart. What a feeling. In two weeks, I have my first strongman competition. It definitely won't be that successful.

Have you ever looked into clubbells to improve the shoulder rotations? I've suffered from shoulder issues for decades - and I use clubs to improve my shoulder mobility throughout the rotational planes. Whether it's 360's or Mills, the improvement has been incredible. I don't go super heavy, because all I'm looking for is making sure the rotation without impingement is where it needs to be - the knock on effect has been that I'm much better at overhead pressing than I used to be. Nowhere near what I would even remotely consider strong, but given that my should impingements meant I was incredibly weak in those lifts about a year ago - I'm thrilled with the progress I've made. As an example - prior to using clubbells, The level of discomfort (actually straight up pain) I had with any overhead lifts was ridiculous. Kettlebells have helped me gain some muscular endurance, but the stability and rotation is from the clubs

The most iconic moment in English football is when my club, Manchester City, won the premier league for the first time. They was competing with Manchester United (our footballing rivals). Manchester City were playing QPR and had to win in order to win the title where as Man United were playing across town at the same time against Sunderland. Manchester United’s game had finished and they had won 1-0 whilst we was 2-1 down with 5 minutes added stoppage time to go (stoppage time is minutes added on at the end to make up for lost time in the game). With no hope left in the crowd and United fans thinking they had won the league Eden Deko scored a brilliant header 2 mins into extra time to equalise. That however wasn’t enough. We needed another goal. Now the crowd was given some hope, the atmosphere become electric cheering their team on. Our players were playing like their lives depended on it. Out of no where Mario Balotelli received the ball at the edge of the box. There seemed to be no where to move or pass to as QPR had nearly their whole team defending in the box. Some how Balotelli scuffed a scruffy ball over to Sergio Aguero, who off balance, tapped the ball into the bottom corner. The scruffiest goal you had ever seen but it didn’t matter. Manchester City had won their first ever premier league title. Even better, it was won over our long term rival. The most iconic commentary moment in football was made that day. Search on KZbin “Balotelli, agueroooooo” and the exact moment will come up. Tell me you don’t get goosebumps watching it.

It's called an axel press, and a jerk is not a press and by physics alone jerks should allow more weight than presses. I'm waiting for strongman comps to make the redip to recieve the jerk illegal and force a push or strict press for a clean and press event

Edmonton Alberta and the 200 lbs atlas stone head to head where at 60 years old I set the pace at 30 reps to beat (actually 31 because I accidentally bulldoged one rep and they wouldn’t allow it so I had to do another) We each had 20 seconds to get the stone over the bar to the our opponent who then had 20 seconds to do the same. I went through 3 or 4 guys. The organizers capped it at 30 reps because people were passing out in the heat. That’s my best moment and memory.

When I was in school I was never allowed to play any organized school sports due to my health and so I did the next best thing which was being a team manager. In middle school (6th-8th grade) I was the team manager for all 4 boys sports teams my school had (football, basketball, wrestling, track & field) all 3 school years in middle school and in 8th grade I was allowed to be a part of the track team and throw the shot put. Fast forward to the end of my 8th grade school year and we had an awards ceremony to honor all the 8th grade students who made honor roll, various other academic achievements, as well as some athletic awards and achievements. One of the awards handed out during the ceremony was "The Reuther Athletic Award" which gets presented to the best athlete in the school. I pretty much assumed that I wouldn't be getting any awards that night and I was just there to support my classmates. Then, to my surprise, the winner of the Reuther Athletic Award for that year was announced as being me. I went up to receive the award and as I was walking up, one of the parents gave me a standing ovations, quickly followed by the rest of the parents, school staff and my classmates. The standing ovation went on for several minutes and as well as being awarded the athlete of the year, one of my teachers reached out to the 4 major professional sports teams and told them about me and they sent me each a letter of congratulations. On June 4th of this year, I was also inducted into the school's brand new Athletics Hall of Fame.
