Hi Barry, Always just as fun and watch while you train. You not only exercise, but you are also an inventor sometimes. Happy weekend to you! 😉

I have a pair similar but they have Velcro that wraps around the handle, If you have a power rack you attach webbing straps to the top part and just have them free hanging at pressing height ready to use!

Yer that was there V1 design too with straps.

You ever ran a Sheiko program Baz? He's the Russian powerlifting coach with 50 odd champions under his belt. His programs are on the internet in spreadsheet form but i ran it off an app on my phone. The app has changed format abit now but should basically be about the same. I've never added more weight to my 1RM's than when i followed his programs. I should re-run one soon really. Always a pleasure to see a new upload from you on my feed. Your love for lifting really comes through. All the best. Mick.

Thanks Mick. No never looked at Sheiko but will.

I mostly use the lowest setting for incline DB press, maybe 20 degrees. Managed 3x10 with 27 kg DBs today and improving quickly. 57 next month but close to where I was at 30. Must have been slacking when younger! Agree with your comment on equipment. Possibly to work the whole body with DBs and adjustable bench (e.g. Farmer's walk, incline BP).

Yer I find same thing. Age is a number :)

Getting heavy dumbbells into position to do a bench press is easy when you know how and if you’re doing it properly, it shouldn’t be putting any stress on your shoulder joint.

Incline is more tricky

I like to train dumbbell presses and flyes to failure. So, the things staying attached to the dumbbells during the lift put me off buying the Mad Spotters. Can you take the material off the bottom and simply lift the dumbbells off so they come off the hooks? Obviously, you would still have to dump the dumbbells to the floor, or on to knees at the end of the set (as normal), but the riskiest part of the lift is getting them up rather than down. I'd buy a set if that was possible to just use the spotters in that fashion.
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Yiu could take material off but still be difficult to get back on and then have to dump them as you say. Idea is good but needs improving in my opinion

Barry, i think you are using those hooks upside down. I think you would be able to unhook them from the dumbell if they were hooked the other way..
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
No you lift them with the dumbbell. Watched vids before purchase. You hook them back on bar after set.
@danielteixeira309Ай бұрын
Prefer to put them on my thies feels safer

Excellent work must have killed you not to do any accessory work after the inclines knowing your gorilla work ethic. But watch your next bench session being the know it all that I am not. I would like to see you do two or threes for six sets at about 80 to 85% your one rep max then a bit of accessory work then next bench session add a rep. Then next session do two reps for six next session add a rep onto the one you added on do this till you reach 6x5 this would be my approach there is more than one way to skin a cat keep cracking great channel you have going here.

Next session will be volume. Mark my words I'm going back to old school and I'm stronger than that 130kg disaster portrayed.

U honestly believe I play the old card 🤣 Its what spears me on to lift heavier than I did in my 20 30 40s. Its not a card its a motivation to me to keep going.
