At 16:00 In that position, Robert Hess stated that Qc8+ wins on the spot because if Carlsen responds Kg7, Qc3+ captures the rook. If Nf8 was the response, d7 and the passed pawn is unstoppable. If Carlsen insists with the attack by Rxb3+, Then Ka2 and the attack is over.. The c2 pawn is nicely defended by the Queen on c8.

It only meant that his classical game is not head and shoulders anymore with the rest of the competition. The 22-23 year old Magnus would be disappointed. I reckon we'll have him as world champion for about 5 more years before the competition finally catches up to him and he's no longer the overwhelming favorite to win every tournament he plays in. Of course, I wouldn't bet against him as he'll still be a slight favorite against anyone in his good days
