You know what I think part of Ronnie’s success was? Outside of obviously having the genetics and body composition to be great, and the work ethic, he just seemed to really enjoy bodybuilding. Like, I don’t think he ever really saw it as a job or something to get through and go home. When you enjoy what you’re doing you get better results.
@shapursasan90192 жыл бұрын
Also, that was his downfall that he can't even walk anymore. He's almost paralyzed now. After he retired; he continued doing his insane heavy weight workout routines -- and as a result, destroyed his spinal cord. If he was still a pro -- you say, ok, he was doing it to get ahead -- but after retirement; that's just stupid to keep doing that to yourself. He's a good man -- but not much intelligence.
@andreicarvalho73502 жыл бұрын
@@shapursasan9019 Try to say to a singer to stop sing. A cooker to stop cooking. A teacher to stop teach. That's the same thing, if the meaning of your life is doing what you love, you will never stop doing it. It's his life. But his downfall was always trying to break his limits, and he did it, he did something that no one will do, he is the greatest among the greatest, the one and only, a legend that have a imortal legacy
@shapursasan90192 жыл бұрын
@@andreicarvalho7350 You didn't get it -- I never said that he should've stopped working out. Go listen to his interview with Joe Rogan -- He injured his back because he was trying to break his squat record after he had already retired. That's just stupidity. When working out is not your profession anymore, and it's just for health and fitness -- then you try to be smart about it and not risk your health. He didn't do that -- and for the rest of his life, he'll be crutches... That has nothing to do with greatness.
@Ganbarizer2 жыл бұрын
I agree that he should’ve slowed down after retiring but I’m speaking specifically about his success as a pro bodybuilder here. But I’ll address this too. He didn’t use heavy weight regularly for all body parts. That’s a huge misconception people have about his training style. And he’s even talked about the importance of using moderate weight to get a pump and only using as much weight as you can without struggling in one of his videos. When he did want to go big, it was usually when squatting. He has a powerlifting background and I think he mainly squatted over 400lbs not for hypertrophy, but for strength and the thrill of it. He could get away with that when he was a pro and using PEDS but after retiring and downsizing, it wasn’t a wise move to continue training that way. You can still bodybuild because you love it, but you have to do what’s appropriate for your body and body chemistry. So it wasn’t his love of the sport that caused his health to decline-it was making unwise decisions. He’s definitely an intelligent person (he has a degree in accounting) but even intelligent people can make poor choices for a myriad of reasons.
@shapursasan90192 жыл бұрын
@Vercusgames I don't know where you heard that 'stem cell' has cured him? I don't think that's true. I remember Joe Rogan was telling him about it... Nothing can ever make him walk without crutches ever again. His whole spinal cord is fused-together with no mobility. He's done.
