I’m late to the party, but the Martin era is so strong. I think it was just the era they came out in and the fact that the heavy music genre was shifting to more aggressive sounds. Thanks for watching!

Loved the Headless Cross and TYR period of Sabbath. Saw them on the tour for the TYR album. Phenomenal performance, but they left blood on the stage. Attendance was really bad. It must have cost them money to play.

this was a blast, King is a true metal hero, always fun to hear his opinions even if i don't always agree. If i had to pick a post Ozzy album, i'll go with "Born Again" and "Mob Rules" for the raw sound and the dark songs... "Heaven and hell" is a classic but im a bit tired of it nowadays

Fantastic two parts. I loved it. Here’s my final ranking. 1. Black Sabbath 2. Master of Reality 3. Paranoid 4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 5. Heaven and Hell 6. Sabatage 7. Vol 4 8. Dehumanizier 9. Mob Rules 10. Headless Cross 11. Born Again 12. The Eternal Idol 13. The Devil You Know( screw it, it’s a sabbath record I don’t give a fuck!) 14. Tyr 15. Cross Purposes 16. Never Say Die 17. Seventh Star 18. 13 19. Forbidden 20. Technical Ecstasy Edit: I didn’t stay up for the end. So I watched it this morning. I agree that Sharon O fucked everything up. I hate her. She has destroyed so many musicians. Tony owned 100% of the Sabbath name. The only way he could do a reunion back on 97 was sell half back to Ozzy. I truly wish he hadn’t but…..let’s not kid ourselves I look at it that besides money he did it to solidify Sabbath’s legacy. If he hadn’t most people would have thought of them as founding act that hadn’t put out a good album since 81. Obviously I don’t think that but the masses do. Even King said it, during the Martin era they could barely sell 1000 tickets. I loved those Martin albums but King is right during the early 90s nobody wanted anything to do with them. But what’s really bad???? If any of the non Ozzy era sells or is used. Sharon and Ozzy get 50% of royalties now. 😡 that just blows my mind. Oh and during the 13 tour? Ozzy kept his 50%. Iommi had to split his 50% with Geezer and that fill in drummer. It was a shame the way it ended but the music as a whole on 13 I still feel was pretty good. At some point you just run out of ideas. Although I’d love one more Iommi record with Hughes I really liked Dep Sessions and Fused. Also maybe because Iommi is my player across the board I’m a bit jaded. I’ll accept that but selling out? Yeah maybe but it’s money that probably will take care of his kids and grand kids after he’s dead. He spent nearly a decade carrying the Sabbath name making very little money doing it and basically restoring to being a club act again. He paid his dues twice. Once coming up as a teenager and a young adult trying to get a deal and then again as an early middle aged man. 🤷
@kingfowley20823 жыл бұрын
yeah he should of held his ground. sharon wanted that name soooooo bad. but it is what it is. iommi is my player too. he's jsut coem up short for a good while now on good records. cheers

Dehumanizer in front of Mob Rules? Mob Rules at #9?!? ACK!!!! Haha. Thanks for watching man!
@metalneanderthal3 жыл бұрын
@@HeavyMetallurgy oh hell yeah I fucking love that album I completely disagreed with all three of you. It’s 9.5 out 10 for me, oh and it’s my 2nd favorite Sabbath album cover art too. But kept on mind I was born in the late 70s so Dehumanizer was actually my first Dio era album I heard. While Mob Rules was most of all yours first entry into the Dio era. 8 years difference in terms of first music experiences is actually a big gap. It why a lot of people in their mid 60s and 70s only prefer Ozzy era. It what the knew for almost 10 bucks years. So I totally get it.

Catching up to this but today had a day off and caught up with the end of this sabbathical marathon. The 2nd part was even better. Now I will just say something, totally concur with King on his appraisal of "13". For me its worse than "Forbidden", to simplify it that turd is just another lucrative Osborne matron exploit and the way their whole camp treated Bill Ward is disgusting. Black Sabbath ended when Iommi sold his soul/band to the Devil aka Sharon. Ozzy/Sharon get the lions share, Tony a decent share, GzR a tinier one and Bill got the scraps, of course he wouldn't accept this (a bit like the reason why the original Sepultura ended)A little footnote: I need to side with Alan on the "Dehumanizer" defense militia - its a very good record but clearly not a very varied one, it was a sign of the times document... very much in your face
@HeavyMetallurgy3 жыл бұрын
Worse than Forbidden? Whew. I can’t agree with that statement, though I do understand the hard people have for 13. They were too influenced by Rubin who told them to essentially re-enact their classic debut. Was a clear money grab. Pretty sad way to go out, though I do enjoy the album. Thanks for watching!

Yes! Kings opinion on the new Maiden album, exactly!!..it's fuckin anti-commercial..and dark..love it! Great second part! Hails and salutes to all and thanks King for jumping in and sharing your thoughts! -My absolute worst is "Born Again" (And Forbidden and 13)..I love Deep Purple but Born Again..man.....it's not just the production (which I really don´t mind)..the problem is that it's rushed-sloppy-botched, it's off tempo many times-distracted, poor execution, they sound forced, Gillan's voice sucks on it--it's stressed-forced-exagerated, childish lyrics...it's predictable, and it's an album which COULD have been great to me, but no....except one/two songs...don´t like it..max grade: a D+ on a good day -I love The Eternal Idol (both with Ray and Tony Martin), Headless Cross (Amazing) and Tyr. I like Cross Purposes as well. I really like Tony Martin's voice and execution. -The Glenn Hughes album is cool. -The Dio albums--H&H (In 1980 nothing sounded like that...unique sound..don´t agree with Popoff...he talks a lot of nonsense sometimes) and Mob Rules are top, Dehumanizer is a bit forced and rushed personally for me..quite a big step down. "13" is boring, self plagiarism and sucks. Just a product for product's sake. Cheers, Al.

Al… thanks so much for watching and sharing your comments. Born Again… it was definitely a grower album for me, but at some point, it clicked pretty hard for me. It’s heavy, dark and weird. Disturbing the Priest? Crazy! Take care.
