Just to be clear, if any of our old compatriots stumble across this video please don't take offense to us referring to some of our old favorite albums as 'dirtbag' playlists. We were not trying to put anyone down with that phrase. This is the music that we, ourselves, listened to a ton while hanging out and goofing off (like all kids do) back in the good ol' days of our youth.

Cheers to you for sticking it out for nearly 5hrs. I am currently at Memorial University in Newfoundland (chromie's neighbourhood), and I can only imagine how tired you were by the end if you came home from a day of teaching and put that many hours into the show.

Glad you threw up this disclaimer... we certainly aren't taking a negative stance on the "dirtbag" title. It's very much a term of endearment for sure!

Chromium Dioxide Radio is legit the best content on KZbin. Views per video should be at least 100k.

I'm much younger than the people on the Heavy Metallurgy panel as I'm only 25, but here is what formed my music taste. My parents played music all the time so I was absorbing music as a child. My parents played these all the time: 1. The Beatles - The White Album, Sgt. Peppers, Revolver, Help! 2. Journey - Greatest Hits 3. Eagles - Greatest Hits 4. Sting - I forget which album 5. Peter, Paul, and Mary - I forget which but I think it was a compilation Starting in middle school was when I started to really care about music. These are the albums I discovered on my own and really drove me to listen to more music. I didn't really get into metal music until the pandemic so most of my picks aren't really metal. 1. Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot 2. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory, Meteora 3. Disturbed - Indestructible, Ten Thousand Fists 4. Breaking Benjamin - Phobia 5. Three Day's Grace - One-X, Life Starts Now 6. Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree 7. The Offspring - Smash 8. Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture 9. Panic! at the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, Pretty. Odd., Vices & Virtues 10. Nirvana - Nevermind, In Utero

Well, it only took me about a week to finish watching this behemoth of an episode, but this has got to be one of your best yet. Will never look at Mantas, "the grand master of Hades and mayhem", the same way after watching this.

HAHA this is incredible. I’ve been working my way through this video for the last couple days, I’m loving it guys. Without going too in depth here in the comment section, I gotta say that Phil and the Chromium Dioxide zine / myspace page literally made me who I am today (along with Cauldron and Skull Fist). As a kid (I think 15 or so) who was huge into old school metal already, but really only knew the big name stuff at that point…Maiden, Kiss, Crue, Ratt, Megadeth, etc , I didn’t know anyone personally that was into that type of stuff with the same die hard mentality that I was, so it was a life changing moment for me when I discovered first Skull Fist, then Cauldron, and then Chromium Dioxide. they all three introduced me to countless incredible underground old school metal bands/records…I remember one collage Chromie did with different records from his collection, and it was almost all stuff I’d never heard of. I’m talking Trojan - Chasing the Storm, Ivory Tiger, Halloween, Firstryke, Morbid Saint, Glacier, GOTHAM CITY(!) , Unicorn (the Legend Returns!), Philadelphia, Tredegar, Syar , I was just going one by one through this collage, zooming in to see what the different records were, looking em up on youtube or wherever I could find them, and from what I remember, every single one of them was killer. At that point I obviously had to start looking for these records, and it was there that my passion for RARE records really began. Here I am 15 years later still hooked on rare and expensive records. Thanks a lot pal hahaha Also have to mention cause I’m a fuckin nerd- Straight Between the Eyes was in Sleepaway Camp 2 , not Slumber Party Massacre 2 🤓 but both are worth a watch for sure
