I have the enormous respect for the vigor and passion Jon has for creating his music .

Demo s & Wizards and Blind Guardian are about the only few metal bands where I like the new releases more than the classic albums!

Audio needs balancing, had to turn it down drastically after the intro. Decent interview, though.

I took "Midas Disease" as a shot at TV evangelists, at least a bit, and that's pretty much how some if not most or all of those TV preachers are.

Jon said it all this is a hard rock record with power metal vocals . The first 2 albums had incredible right hand technique on the guitar with amazing patterns . First 2 records full on power metal . This record is musically watered down on the guitar namely . The vocals redeem it it to a point but not in the same league as the first 2 records at all .

There is a point when as an artist you do something too much too often it gets exhausting for you. When you think you've done it all, you know? I mean, they're also not getting any younger, there is that too. Jon still kills it live on tour with the right hand. Still one of the absolut top most precise rhythm players in metal in my personal opinion. I think another part that makes D&W 3 maybe feel "weaker" is the sound being less saturated and aggressive. And they do have a point, the way D&W 3 flows, works and sounds, it sticks out. It doesn't have to break right hand records or set a new pitch high for Hansi. It's just the full complement of it that makes the album give impact the way it does. If you mere look for right hand hardness, surely it's not the album to go. There are some things in there however, that may take a while until they click. I don't mean or want to "turn" or "convert" you to like it, absolutely not. Everyone has different tastes or expects different things. That's fine :) As a guitarist myself who is a lot more pulled to the rhythm, at first D&W 3 felt... "weak." But once I was more inside it, while playing, certain things hit a lot deeper.
