Thanks for this video!!! We moved from the city to Coney Island and then I moved to Bensonhurst. This is so HOME for me. Whilst living in CI my mom and I used to walks on the beach after a storm. Great memories...My dad and I watched the Verrazano bridge being built and it was FREE to use it...They say that 'home is where your heart is' well my heart is right there with you...

Welcome to the neighborhood. Born and raised in Brooklyn since 74. Live in Sunset Park neighborhood, and then moved into Bensonhurst / Dyker Heights when I was a kid in the mid 80's. Very cool about the bridge. My great Uncle Walt was one of the many workers that built the bridge. I have taken thousands of photographs of the bridge over the years and have had a number of them published in calendars, and in one instance, on the cover of Staten Island Colleges Fall Brochure. And I can see the bridge out my living room window. LOL. So yea.. the bridge has been a big part of my life. 👍🏻💯

Been subscribed for a while and absolutely love your channel. I spent the first 20+ yrs of my life in Bay Ridge and used to walk/ride my bike all over including Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. It's been 40 years since I left, don't get a chance to visit that often and your videos bring back such a flood of memories. Today's was no exception. I can't count the number of times I walked/rode the bike path from the 69th street pier all the way to the former Korvettes (now Target) at Cropsey Ave and Bay Pkwy. Thanks so much
