Right! Because the amount dealt in damage is exactly the amount healed! The only way for a heavy to win is to either put more bullets in the opponent than the opponent puts in them, or by purposefully wasting health regen by first letting them take the shot, waste the heals with their full health, and then take yours - taking their health down and taking yours back up to full. So it's a cycle of - let take the shot first, dodge if possible, if not dodged - fine, just shoot them afterwards.

@@jacobjones5404 its more due to the general nature of comp than heavy. Because comp is 6v6, Heavy is absurdly strong. His counters, sniper and spy, are rare due to small playercount discouraging their usage. As a result, heavy doninates the field...or he would if his other biggest weakness didnt hamper him. His speed is so slow, he often misses the key mid fight, putting his team on the back foot. And heavy is at his weakest when he's trying to push. The reason comp doesn't want heavy as their king is because he slows the game down. His defensive strength is balanced by his offensive weakness. He is terrible for pushing. So comp typically bans EVERYTHING that makes heavy better than the last ditch, last point character he is now. Movement speed items - BANNED. Natascha - Banned Fists of Steel -Banned. They only unbanned the grue, because the hp drain makes it garbage for rollouts which is what it was initally banned for. I'd doubt they'd ban this shotgun, but comp REALLY does not want heavy to be relevant. So its not outside the realm of possibility.

Interesting concept, although I still feel like I'd still always use the sandvich or banana unless I want to just play fat scout. It sounds like a ton of fun to use if you wanna deviate from the meta, but from a tryhard standpoint, its upside only comes into play when your health is already low. When you play heavy, you have your primary out for the vast majority of the time, as there's no reason to use that shotgun if your health is high or full. So, on top of the slow, slow switch speed when you take into account that fact that you have to unrev first and your slow speed, chances are you'll die before you can switch to it or die before you can get close enough to use it effectively. I think something as simple as giving it a faster switch speed would fix it.

I disagree. This shotgun would help heavy in one area he lacks in currently. It helps his weaker guns, namely the brass beast and natasha. The easiest heavies to kill are the ones who arent revved. If you can catch a heavy out while in ideal range, most power classes can destroy a heavy before he can do major damage. The reason is because every second you rev is a second you're defenseless, and revving slows movement to a crawl making the enemy's aiming easier. This is why the tomislav's faster spin up is so important and why the brass beast and natasha are looked down upon. All shotguns cover this weakness by giving heavy the means to immediately fight back. But the other shotguns forgo survivability which is vital for heavy to function. A shotgun heavy would need a pocket medic to even function and at that point, your better off with a sandvich so you could heal your medic. With this gun, however, heavy doesnt need a medic. Ideally he'd use this gun as a primary and when attacked would retreat to an ideal position where his minigun could be revved up. Mitigating the slower spin times while retaining the survivability heavy needs.

The concept actually seems pretty balanced for heavy, it has a great reward with a decent drawbacks that requires heavy to be skilled in using his Shotgun, maybe if he was using this in the MvM sfm, he'd be invincible

Its way too strong. Heavy is allowed to get close with his healthpool, especially if he was overheal buffed (not pocketed but buffed) you got 400 health to get close and unload 4 shots that can heal for up to 80+ as long as you know how to aim a regular shotgun without moving too much, so basically, easy as pie. The drawbacks should focus less on dmg per shot and way more on mag size and reload speed. And then draw it back way further

@@fnutek3720 I took a look at the weapon in a simple competitive light, in terms of time to kill, the shotgun pales in comparison to most other weapons, and even a good air dodging scout could give this weapon a run for its money, jumping all over the heavy and whatnot But the point is that you need to make those four shots count in combat and for health, if you can't then you'll be a sitting duck And if you're being healed by a medic, there isn't much of a reason to use the shotgun since you already have a source of healing and a minigun to utilize for more damage

@@notarealspy4090 You are less of a sitting duck than with your minigun. If you can aim even decently, you can hit a regular air dodging scout with a shotgun. ANd the scout will now need to hit you with 3 full meatshots (4 realistically) without getting hit even once, Not to mention 4 times. Against a soldier you might aswell just give up as soldier if you are so far away his shotgun will have no value on you, you wont outdamage him with 30 dmg per rocket (let alone hit him) and if you are too close, you are in a fight now where he heals every single rocket you fire back if you are even decently close. demos direct dps is higher and will make him viable against this (like demo usually is against heavy) and a sniper will always counter heavy. A spy will also be less effective against this type of heavy. Because of the silent killer that is the shotgun ( no rev sounds) and the regular movement speed.

@@notarealspy4090 The whole point of healing with a food item, is that you cant do it in combat. No other weapon in this game heals for more than like 15 per 100 dmg. And there is a GOOD reason for that. Unless you are scout ofc, sacrificing your pistol for milk. But scout is so fragile that you have to still dodge so well. Especially soldiers. Where as with the sub shotgun heavy. You can just walk towards your enemy and hold down mouse 1. Because you wont get out damaged. A scout doing perfect dmg with mad milk will heal for less per second than heavy with this shotgun. Kunai is a great example of a side effect the shotgun should maybe have. The kunai has low starting health because it has to be more difficult to get closer. Maybe make the shotgun drain your max hp like the gloves while active. And yes you definitely need a source of healing besides a medic as heavy. Heavy is a healing sponge, getting heals only from your medic will be devastating for the rest of your team.

100% health return is pretty much always going to be game breaking, regardless of circumstances. Even the Kunai with mad milk pales in comparison to that, especially on such a tacky class. Like *maybe* marked for death could balance it a little, and compensate for that by maybe making it shot slightly faster.

About the shotgun problem, I find the best solution for it to be is to seperate shotgun and lunch box item regions, which can also make heavies always have a second plan before backing up to recover, or when they don't have enough time to rev up their gun (not sure if it would be a bit too powerful or not).

this could be really good with a backpack item for heavy like a dispenser for ammo and health that replaces the minigun , creating a different tank style for heavy that focuses on support more than damage .
