The 4-letter thing, or even the writing out thing creates a problem; whatever substitute you come up with must subsequently not be written out. Believe what you want, keep keeping what you’re keeping, I just think this rule is impractical.
@larsenalexanders66445 жыл бұрын
That's not a problem. It's a problem for people who does not know how to pronounce it. But I as a Nazarene know it. and I will not tell you. Because you are a blasphemer you attack the name of God and calling he's name a problem. This is why Early Judeans Change the name of God into Adonai which is Lord. So that people will not misuse he's name for he's name is holy. And it's name describes it's authority.

Pronouncing the name of El shaddai is not forbbiden in the Torah, what it is forbbiden is to take it in vain. The contraction YAH is it also pronounced Adonai?

Nowhere in the Torah is the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton forbidden. But the priests were so worried about violating the 3rd Commandment that they added doctrine. The Talmud is the doctrines of men, not Yahuwah. So, say the name Yahweh or Yahuwah or Yahuah -- you still will be obeying Torah!

You should have a million views. Those that have a million, introduce too much in one go. Printed letters, hand writing, and it has to be quick. Don't they know we have a limited attention span? And telling students that Hebrew alphabet is "supereasy" is directly misleading. It isn't and it will take time. Slowly does it. Cheers
@johntingle4554 жыл бұрын
The hashem YHWH is not pronounced Adonai and never was....now the substitute adonai/Lord or LORD in all capital letters in English when replacing the original Name YHWH is pronounced as Adonai, a title name or expletive. The two words do not have the same meanings in Hebrew. The practice of substituting the hashem YHWH with the title of Adonai/LORD and on a few occasions Elohim/GOD in all capital letters was never ordained by YHWH or any of his inspired Prophets. It is a God dishonoring tradition invented and instituded soley by imperfect men. Sorry. I have no Hebrew keyboard to more accurately type out my explanation.
@yomomma9687 Жыл бұрын
At the end there, the name for God יהוה is pronounced Yah-hoo-wah. I guess the Jehovah's witnesses got it right the closest - Jehovah ie. Ye-ho-vah. It means "he is" and uses the word for "he", but makes it into a verb by adding the yah prefix It's also interesting to compare it to the prophets name יֵהוּא "Yehu" which means "Yah is he". The only difference is the silent final letter, Alif or Ha lol. So it's: "Yah is he" vs "He is (yah)" / Is he vs he is Lol the real problem with this word is that the verb "to be" is not used in semitic languages in the preset tense. It's only when he says "I am that I am" אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה, where you get the imperfective aspect (future tense in Hebrew) and there the Hebrew word "to be" אֶהְיֶה shows up (conjugated). This is why people found it so difficult to remember how to pronounce God's name
@yomomma9687 Жыл бұрын
Actually, since there's no imperfect in English and since it translates into a progressive aspect, the phrase "I am that I am" is probably better translated as "I be that I be". In other words "I always am and always will be" (and always was), everlasting, eternal and unchanging. When it says, in the beginning was "the word" and the word was with him. That word doesn't mean Jesus. It is actually just the word "be", cos God always "is". And when he wants something (miraculous) to happen like when he wanted to create Adam, he just said "be" and Adam "was" (created). So the word became flesh there. And Adam in that respect is like Jesus. God said "be" and Jesus was created. In Arabic the word "be!" is "kun". So they say that God says to something "be (so) then it is" - "kun fa-yakoon". There's the ya prefix again for "it is" yakoon.
@yomomma9687 Жыл бұрын
... he only difference is that they don't say that he himself is "the word". His word is "kun" (be) when he wants to create something, and yes, he himself always was and always will be... ...but he is not himself created, so he himself is not "the word" - he's just God. Everything else is created by his word. So you can't call him the word, "be", cos that's just his godly power, but you can call him "he is", because that's true, he always is and always will be. It's just important to distinguish that he was himself not created by himself or by anything else. He just always was
