Hi @JazzyGinger1. I'm so thankful that verse reached your heart. I get alot of questions about what I "did with" the Sabbath after I came out of Hebrew Roots. If you are comfortable sharing, how did you come to see the Sabbath after you were resccued out? Sabbath and food were the two that caused me the most confusion the days following coming out of Hebrew Roots. I'm so thankful I had dear friends to be patient with me as I worked those out.

The Hebrew roots that I'm familiar with know that we have all broken Yahweh's laws so we can't be justified by keeping the law, we have all failed. Yahushua is the one who justifies. But that doesn't mean that we can ignore His laws.

Katherine, thank you so much for sharing your story. It is so encouraging to listen to others share their experience being involved in this idealogy. My husband and I completely left in Fall of 2021 and since God has lead us to a biblically-solid and loving church. Hi dear, I understand your dilemma about the Hebrew roots movement, I am a follower of Yashua Messiah He is my salvation, but I do have to say that Yah gave His instructions (Torah)to Israel, a nation He chose for they were to share with the other nations around them, us Gentiles, Gods laws and instructions that we are all to live by. People mention the 613 laws, they are not for everyone, if you look into them they are for different job titles, priests, parents, children etc. He gave us His commandments, and we should be obedient to Him including keeping the Sabbath and we also believe in keeping the feast days because we learn from them. The spring Feasts (His first coming-is His Redemption) His dying on the cross for us. Then The Fall Feasts (His second coming-His Restoration) to restore all things. There are many rabbinic things being done that shouldn’t be done, Yah said do not add to or take away from His word. I pray you continue to keep His instructions, the 10 commandment, Loving Yah above all things and loving your neighbor as yourself, the Fall Feasts are about His return and people are not ready nor prepared for His return. As you know there are some tough times coming as Yeshua said and we need Him to help us to endure to the end. We need Torah! We need Truth. Be strong honey, stay in His Truth. The pagan holidays are not truth. Yah bless you in all that you do!

I'm very familiar with the Messianic Movement. Lot's of wonderful people. Question: Do you think there is a moral obligation to follow the Law of Moses? If so, do you also believe that there are two different moral requirements for Gentile and Jewish believers? Why? Or, why not? What do you think Paul means when he uses the phrase, "Under the Law" in 1 Cor. 9:21?

I agree. Keep the big 10 and eat clean. Regarding keeping of feasts, that’s impossible with out current calendars, not being in the land, and not having a temple. There’s nothing wrong with trying to remember and keep them, but there’s simply no way of keeping them to biblical standards. We see this in Daniel where he fasted through Passover and unleavened bread.

Good video sister. You nailed it. My wife and I attended one of these places for about a year and a half and saw the levels, and inconsistency even among members. I got into a rather heated conversation one Friday night with a guy who was rather rude and jumped on me because he was talking about the requirements to follow the law trying to force it on me and I objected. He got mad and I pressed him on what happens when a follower of Christ doesn’t follow the Mosaic law and he kept trying to get away from answering and changing the topic. I persisted and finally said those who don’t follow the law will be judged. When he said that he knew he was wrong and he walked away. Thank God Paul covers this extensively in his letters to the churches. So glad you got out of that and I pray God’s richest blessings will be on you.

It’s so sad for me to see so many people judging so hard those within the body. My husband and I have made mistakes forsure and have had to Humble ourselves and apologize to family. The father pushed on me to learn the fruit of the spirit in 2021. And it was such a blessing. Because as we in our faith have grown deeper in our walk by doing feast and sabbath. It’s also helped me to be less judging of others. Instead I’ve seen more people in my life who are seeking to be in Jesus footsteps! I’m seeing more and more people being crushed and chastised. We don’t do Easter or Christmas but I also don’t judge those who do I walk out my faith beside all Abba places in our life! The isolation is so real!

I'm not a part of the Hebrew Roots movement perse but I still keep the Torah because its God's Laws for His people and at the end of the days we will ALL be responsible to keep it. So did God do away with His Laws just to cause the nations to keep it at the end? There is no way around it. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. - Isaiah 2:2-3

Scented-leaf, I agree with you. This is indeed a very wide term. There is a commonality in keeping several of the laws, though I understand wide variation in the "why" and "how." I am sharing my personal testimony, and what Hebrew Roots is in my area of the world. I do believe there is a danger in this movement as it tends to slide very quickly from observing these things "because we want to" to "because we should" to "it is required." Thank you for your comment.

@@JustOneStitch Yes, I am very concerned also at some of the manifestations of what gets dubbed the "Hebrew Roots Movement," including the Sacred Name Movement etc., but I also watch with horror and incredulity some of the manifestations of non-Hebrewistic churches today. I don't believe in throwing out the baby with the bathwater concerning both sides. I believe in a One New Man all-body Church from Scripture that should be made up of both Jews and Gentiles, so that the Jewish/Hebraic component blesses the Church without Gentiles feeling the compunction to become Jewish, but there is also a lot of man-made stuff woven in too. I wish you well, but sentimentality can play a huge part when it comes to seeking God's will in giving up some traditions that He may not require us to keep observing. This applies to all traditions, such as with Buddhists, Hare Krishna, Sikism, Islam and also in Christendom. It can be tempting to hold onto familar and fond things related to family and friends etc. But we are all on a journey, and what I believed five years ago I do not believe now, as we keep growing in grace as we seek to serve Him in a way that is honouring to him. I grow many nice plants in my greenhouse. Some of them get pruned back at times. But only when the dead matter is removed will the plant truly flourish with new growth and even beautiful flowers. I wish you well, but Yeshua is Jewish. Don't chastise Him for what that entails for us. 🌿 🌸

Maybe your friends were real fanatics when grace leads one to liberty not licentiousness. Dietary instructions are and never were a salvation issue but rather an emphasis on health. I have never isolated myself from my brothers with there special holidays. You must have fellow-shipped with real sticklers. Torah is always interpreted as instruction and teaching , not law. In most groups you have the ones that are pew sitters and those that show up only on Easter and Christmas and you have teachers and some of them are held in high regard . Then you have the lay preachers another step and then the Pastors. In all churches you have the Spiritual and the ones that just show up because it is a good thing.

Hi Kathrine, I still feel fairly new to the “Whole Bible” Movement, thats what I feel it is to me. Started following/studying December 2018. I’ve mostly watched Bill Cloud out of Chattanooga, TN online in which I’m grateful he & his wife started a fellowship February of 2019. I was living in Metro Atlanta at that time & visited a few fellowships but they didn’t jive with me. I’ve since moved to the south Alabama area & have found a fellowship I’m comfortable with. I do not agree with ALL the things this movement teaches, but add I did not in the Christian church either. I take in the good stuff and spit out the stuff I can’t go for. I Gotta be honest, The Sabbath was not a stretch for me…I loved resting on Saturday’s and not doing anything because I had worked hard through the week & was tired. I always felt guilty for not cleaning or doing this or that… Christmas was always depressing for me. I came from a broken home, and there were NEVER “family” traditions, etc. I would go in debt buying presents & pay them off afterwards. This teaching just makes more sense to me…I do agree with you that I feel they need to be more evangelistic and sharing Yeshua/Jesus with non-believers. Also, I feel the Birth of Yeshua/Jesus needs to be celebrated during The Feast of Tabernacles since from my studies so far, I believe that’s probably when He was born. Why not celebrate it? He birth is documented in the Gospels, so it was pretty important if you look at The “whole Book”. I DO NOT Believe in animal sacrifices, even if there was a Temple, Yeshua paid the price…made the ultimate sacrifice, and yes, God says He has forgotten our sins “as far as the east from the west”, which is to say…they are gone. I do think this movement needs “The Spirit”, The Word says to “worship Him in Spirit and Truth” I truly believe Yeshua is coming back for “one new man” and I feel He is getting us all on the “same page” and that page is not gonna look like modern day Christianity or Messianic Judaism. As we as believers have to choose between the world or God’s ways, I think things are gonna become more clear as He moves us to the “One New Man” God Bless you on your Journey…you are MY SISTER in Yeshua, right where you are😊❤️

So how do think you'll manage in the millennium? "And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." Zechariah 14:16‭-‬19 NKJV The Law was NEVER salvific. If people in the Old Testament could have been saved by following the Law and things like animal sacrifice, they never would have needed a Savior, and Christ would be irrelevant. Therefore it is NOT an offense to the cross when it is resumed under Christ's direction during His millennial reign. There is a FOURTH temple, priests and Levites, and ANIMAL SACRIFICE continually being practiced because it was never an alternative to the work of saving grace, and Christ being the Word in the flesh literally embodies the very laws you hate.

@One Stitch in the Veil your friends were trying to tell you that by setting up a Christmas Tree in your home( which in God's eyes is idol worship) then you are inviting the attention of the false spirits. If you believe in the power of God and he is a supernatural being, then logic stands to say that there are evil spirits as well, and we know this from reading the Bible. What they were trying to tell you is that you are in essence opening a door for whatever is connected to the Pagan Holliday of Christmas. I am not a perfect believer at all in God's eyes, none of us are, but to have had the knowledge, and at some point you knew that truth, you turned your back, what if you are wrong? How is one stupid day out of the year worth your salvation? But when you come on You Tube and plant what happened to YOU as some kind of excuse for others ,you are going to get pushback. So far you have not listed one single bit of SCRIPTURE to prove your point! Shouldn't you have proof before you lead others to destruction?

I do not understand after having studied the scriptures for some time now, how a person could be ok with celebrating Christmas! Just the history of this day , and the fact that it isn't Christ's birthday but the known birthday of a Pagan God should cause a person to consider if this is what YAHWEH means by worshipping him! I learned a great deal from this guy, Bobby Collier. I still refer to the Messiah as Yeshua. Bobby uses the name Jesus. But his teachings really straightened me out about who, YHWH, Yah, Yahuah, etc... who that actually is. I am so glad for you on the journey out of Hebrew Roots/Sacred Name. Although, there are a great deal of observances we are safe to take note. I still weigh the difference of "traditions of men' as opposed to what is actually in scripture. I believe it is a good practice to test those principles. When a tradition pulls us away from glorifying the Father, then perhaps it's not a good idea. Yeshua manifests the name Father. That's all I needed to see, once again. Elohim wrote Genesis 1 YHWH Elohim wrote Genesis 2:4 So now, I am looking into the Divine Council mentioned in Psalm 82. It has singular Elohim judging plural elohim and a very deep topic. Mike Heiser expounds on this extensively. I can say, that I do not fit any of the modern day churches or movements. Once you take on that name, you take on the whole kit and caboodle. I still say, the Letter J was created in the 1500's and that's when Jesus was created. His mother called him Yeshua. In terms of Old Testament, we need to be careful, because the devil masquerades as God, as an angel of light. But you can see his bad fruit. That's the key. Let Yeshua call the devil out on all his deception. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5a8oWeEZd2ejs0

Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm a bit confused though, you rambled on a lot and I am not sure what your warning is? I'm 100% with you on the strong foundation of the Old Testament. I wish my journey started with those wonderful books. I'm not a part of the Hebrew Roots movement, but I am researching and believe that Christians should be observing the true sabbath and the feasts and those who say we are not under the law anymore are dead wrong. Jesus said it best: Matthew 5:17-18: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." One thing to consider... Christmas is fun and so is Halloween, but would you give them up to honor God? "A religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation." Proof of this is with the Apostles, they all were martyred in horrible ways; so why is that ok for them but not for the rest of us part-time luke-warm Christians? They gave up everything and we're going to balk at giving up some foods and pagan holidays? Rev 3:16: "But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!"

Interesting. We “keep” as in observe the feasts/sabbath/dietary laws because we know Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law and prophets but to fill up (fulfill) the law. But for us it’s served to teach us more about our Father and Savior. We firmly believe that faith in Jesus alone leads to salvation. It couldn’t be more clear in scriptures. But the law simply showed His people how to live righteously and set apart lives. It also served as a judge for the nation as they didn’t have a king or ruler (other than God) so needed instruction on what to do when the people sinned. Obviously Jesus is our High Priest, our sacrificial Passover lamb... we have found the feasts much richer and deeper than Christmas and Easter. I’m sorry your experience was so negative. I can see how that can happen very easily and we have to be so careful not to fall into adding to Jesus but also not falling into being of the world and not set apart. God bless you.

What does that mean "fill up" the Law. The Law was incomplete because it offers justice but doesn't offer salvation. The New Covenant in the blood of Yeshua is a complete covenant because it offers both justice and salvation. As Paul said when that which is complete is come that which is incomplete must be done away with. The old covenant is fading away. It has no redemptive value and is only functional as a wonderful way to show Jewish love for God. In the sense of a tradition.

@@michaeldunigan1067 I agree the law didn’t offer salvation. It showed Gods people how to live set apart, righteous lives. The root word for fulfill is “pleroo” which means to fill up, to make full, to fill to the full. With that understanding of the word Jesus’ statement that He didn’t come to destroy/abolish the Law but to fulfill it makes a lot of sense. Like He filled it up with meaning. @@bont7948 He also said that when the Law was fulfilled that it would pass away. Under the New Covenant the Law is written upon our heart. Internal Law. Not the letter of the Law of Moses but the Law of God in spirit. When the Law of God is written upon our heart it becomes a natural part of our character and we cannot break it. Therefore it is the perfect Law of Liberty. Complete Law. Giving both justice and salvation. The Law of Moses is losing it's sovereignty. It will become only a tradition which is a wonderful way to show Jewish love for God. Internal Law is waxing strong. But it is a process to avoid chaos. I am not being argumentative. To anyone who reads this: If you haven’t reached the point where you realize that Paul sounds like he’s preaching two different doctrines then you can’t POSSIBLY understand the warning Peter gave about Paul’s letters. He says that Paul is difficult to understand and that the unlearned and unstable people twist what he says to their own destruction as they do the rest of scriptures. He then continues to with another warning telling us to beware that we don’t fall from our own steadfastness being led away with the error of the wicked. 2 Peter 3:16-17 Now, if you are thinking that Paul is straightforward and that it’s obvious that the law is no longer in effect from what he says, then that’s proof you haven’t spent enough time untangling Paul and you’re ignoring the other things he wrote like this. “Do we make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary we establish the law” Romans 3:31. Establishing something is to make firm, permanent, complete acceptance. Paul cannot say the law is gone in one breath and then permanent in another. This only means one thing…..We have NOT understood Paul like Peter warned. Think about this: why would Jesus say to not even THINK that he came to abolish the law? Why did He make it a point to say that until heaven and earth pass not even a jot would pass from the law? Heaven and earth are still here. Why will Jesus tell many to depart from Him for practicing lawlessness? Jesus is the law! He is the word made flesh! Why would the psalmists say how much they love God’s perfect law and meditate on it day and night? Don’t be deceived. Every apostle kept the laws. Man just doesn’t like laws and so easily accepts a doctrine that tells them they are gone. “Here are those who KEEP the commandments of God AND the faith of Jesus” Rev 14:12 Faith without works is dead. You need both. And do we really think that it’s okay that Constantine changed the sabbath to Sunday? Our mainstream Christianity justifies anything. Come out of her my people! Sunday is the Catholic Church. I pray everyone gets on the straight and narrow path. Amen

Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. Thank you for this heartfelt testimony. I’ve never been part of the HR movement but I have family who is heavily involved. Walking under the law is a dangerous place to be. I have learned in my own walk to have balance. Coming out of the pagan holy days is every bit as important as coming out from under the OT law. Just because we’re not under the OT law doesn’t give us freedom to practice in pagan traditions, so balance is key. Of course these things have to be done with discretion. I don’t think we should shun our family for a Christmas dinner, but submerging ourselves in full pagan custom with all its symbolism is probably not wise either. I used to just love Christmas. I have so many happy memories of it, but after I studied with an honest heart, I couldn’t acknowledge it anymore as a true Christian tradition. “Come out of her” in Revelations absolutely pertains to removing all residue of the old mystery religion (and customs) from our lives. I will be the first to say it was hard for me because we loved this holiday, but once I gave it up, I felt like I had done the right thing. I do not judge or hate anyone who still practices it. I understand them perfectly. I knew for all my life that Jesus was never born in December, but that December 25th was the birth of the sun god. This is fact not theory. To this day, Christmas remains one of the most important “holy days” in the Pagan calendar by their own admission. Something to think on. Satan sprinkles truths in with poison in a complex way to form these cults. That’s why they’re so convincing to even the most sincere and intelligent people. We are notorious for throwing the baby out with the bath water when it comes to truths. The enemy knows this because he has been studying humans for millennia! So what a better place to hide such truths about these pagan holy days than inside a corrupt cult that doesn’t truly honor Christ Jesus (think also JWs 😳), yet they do have lots of truth regarding these holidays. To summarize, each of us have to be led by the Holy Spirit and be in prayer about all things! It’s simple as that. Loving the Lord Jesus and praying for truth (even if we don’t like it) so that we can make the best decisions regarding how we should honor God. The truth will set us free!

We r not under that covenant .. the Sabbath was a sign of the mosaic covenant just like circumcision was the Abrahamic covenant. However if you want to keep a OT Sabbath you are free under Christ to do so. As we read the new testament we understand that morality is written inside us when we come a Christ follower. We are not under the law and are not required to follow the 10 commandments we follow Jesus Christ who allows us to become moral and therefore by default we follow a lot of moral laws from back in the OT covenants. The Sabbath was a shadow of Jesus. From the creation covenant with man, we see God rest, not because he tires.out,.God is all powerful he doesn't grow weary, but because he was pointing us to.the revelation of His son. Jesus Christ is our rest, from constantly labouring for our salvation. We no longer have to pause our sacrificial system one day a week because Jesus was the final sacrifice! By remembering Him we remember the Sabbath bc he is the Sabbath, he is holy and all in all. We rest in what he did at Calvary every single day of our lives, not just one day a week.

So why did He write the ten commandments with His own finger instead of the having Moses write it? And why did He write it in stone, which is a material that can last to the end of the age and not on a decomposable material. And why did He instruct moses to put the two tablets of stone in the arc? @M S brother or sister, you are very misinformed, you personally cannot come to these conclusions if you were READING and studying scripture. Instead you have chosen to recite things I hear over and over again. If you believe that we don't have to follow the 10 commandments, then by what laws do use to lead a moral and rightous life? The apostles continued to honor the Sabbath, they continued to teach what Yeshua taught,Yeshua taught the laws of YAHWEH, what do you think he was teaching when he said " You shall not commit adultery, but I say to you ,whoever has lust in there hearts have already committed adultry"! Or, You shall not murder, but I say to you ,if you have hate in your heart you have murdered ". He didn't say ,after I'm gone you don't have to follow the commandments my father gave, Yeshua put an end to sacrificial law ONLY, as the last sacrifice for sin, so that through him,and repentenance of our sins we may have everlasting life.Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ ... @@carolynpalano9284 I'd like to point out something that people overlook in the passage that Yahshua said that He didn't come to abolish the law OR THE PROPHETS. They do see the "until all is fulfilled" (or accomplished) part which they twist to their own narrative. They either skip over OR THE PROPHETS or they ignore the prophets because that's in the old "outdated" testament. The prophecy of His second coming has not yet been fulfilled. The prophecy of His millennial reign has not yet been fulfilled. Six thousand years but the seventh thousand is set apart. Hmm, where have we seen this pattern before? The prophecy of judgment day has not yet been fulfilled. The prophecy of the earth and the elements, the condemned, the grave and death being burned up has not yet been fulfilled. The prophecy of the new heaven and earth being created has not yet been fulfilled. So the question is, was Yahshua telling the truth, or did He lie? If He lied, we are all doomed.

I don’t really follow Hebrew roots, but where is the scripture backing up some of their beliefs as wrong? God only called a few sins “abominations” in the Law, one of them being homo sex u a lity(mistyped on purpose) and another eating unclean foods. The church will point at the Law to show homosexuality is a sin but ignore the other abomination in the Law. On top of that, there are words added to the bible(by doing this he declared all foods clean) and Peter’s vision, which had nothing to do with foods according to Peter himself! We only eat unclean foods because they are part of our culture, other unclean foods we would not eat because we were not raised around it such as rats, bats, vultures, all carrying diseases. Finally, how many times are “swine eaters” listed among those being rejected by Christ in future judgement, both in the old and New Testament(Revelation)? We are not saved by works, only by faith. But obedience to the Law, what still applies, is the fruit of that faith.

Everyone is on their own walk with God, so I can’t get angry with this sister for trying to explain her point of view. However, her perspective feels narrowminded and vague to me, and I was hoping for more substance than just a few allegories. As a believer with Jewish roots, I cannot relate to what she’s trying to communicate. What's my perspective? I respect God’s law and believe we are under grace through faith in Jesus. As a Jewish roots believer in Jesus, I have freedom in Christ to observe Shabbat, feast days or festivals, only if I want, out of respect for His law. Not out of some legalistic compulsion. Jesus is our Shabbat, and I choose to rest on Saturday if I can and go to church on Sunday-it's a win-win for me. By the way, I've never turned down a coffee invite on a Saturday. I kept listening to her journey, hoping for some scriptural insights, but I struggled to grasp her analogy of a Jewish roots story involving a skyscraper. She described the first floor as containing a Jewish Roots believer at the early stages of legalism, and the penthouse as full of legalistic, Torah-observant, grace-rejecting Christians. Her analogy felt like a legalist narrative to me, as if once you step onto the first floor, it's inevitable you’ll move up to the penthouse and leave grace behind, ending up as some sort of Christian Judaizer. What? Well, I've been living on that first floor for more than 30 years and am not ever going to relocate. For one, it's too expensive up there and secondly, Jesus already paid the price for me. Maybe for her, she started off on the lower floors and she moved to the top. Than seeing her own leagalism decided to condem the whole Jewish Roots movement. On the other hand, many Christians have little understanding of where their faith originated. I believe the Jewish roots of our faith offers a wonderful sense of fulfillment. I celebrate Passover from a historical perspective of freedom from slavery, God's mighity hand, and also knowing that it's the 3rd cup of wine that gives me redemption in the Lord's supper. It's another win-win. However, I still participate in family Christmas events, even though I know Jesus probably wasn’t born on December 25, and that Christmas likely has pagan roots-just like the Star of David has pagan roots too, as do many other practices. But I don’t judge those who wear the star or those who celebrate Christmas and Easter. To all the rest, your journey may differ from mine or hers. I pray we can all come together in Christ as brothers and sisters, whether you are grafted in or from the original vine. Let's take this opportunity to be reminded to pray for the Jewish people to come to faith in Yeshua as their Messiah. Lets not beat them up for thinking salvation only comes from observing the law rather than faith in Yeshua. When called, the Holy Spirit will lead them to all truth. Then they can find freedom through grace in Jesus.

it sounds like you and perhaps your fellowship were stuck in a legalistic mindset. Id like to remind everyone watching this that Jesus did not come to teach lawlessness. We follow Gods commands BECAUSE we are saved, not in order to be saved. @@josephpchajek2685legalism referring to the belief that following the law is what saves a person. You don't follow the law in order to be saved, but rather because you're saved. No one comes to the conclusion that we should be following the man of lawlessness by reading Jesus's teachings. It's only when they why to some of Paul's writings that they say that Paul was teaching against the law. But Paul was a law follower. Not in order to be saved, but because that's what the holy spirit will do inside you. (Jeremiah 31) Acts 21:21 says that the Jews (sounds like a lot of protestant Christians today too)"..have been informed about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the gentiles to forsake Moses, saying not to circumcise the children nor walk according to the practices." Acts 21:24 "And all shall know that what they (Jews) have been informed about you is NOT SO, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Torah." So anyone that says that Paul taught that the law is done away with, doesn't understand Paul's writings. And to be honest they sound kind of like the Jews that were trying to kill him. The laws not done away with. The holy spirit will cause you to walk in God's ways.

@@josephpchajek2685 what about Hebrews? I believe that we are saved by grace through faith. When I said legalism earlier it was referencing the people who say you can only be saved through the law. From Hebrews chapter 6-7 Paul is speaking about the order of Melchizedek and how it differs from the levitical order. So so when he's talking about the law in Hebrews he's very clearly speaking about the law that pertained to the levitical priesthood on that no one could be a priest unless they were from the tribe of Levi. But that wasn't God's original plan. Initially he wanted everyone to be Kings and priests. But when the Israelites created the golden calf and started worshiping it, God gave the kingship to Judah and the priesthood to levi. The levitical priesthood was only in place to show us that we needed a savior. But then Jesus came as king and priest. But a priest that does not die like the ones before him. Just like Aaron's sons became priests under aaron, God's children become priests under Jesus who is our high priest.

@@josephpchajek2685 ok so you can't just read one verse from Paul and make a conclusion about the whole Bible. If you read all of Romans you will find that he's talking to a group of Jews who are basically turning to legalism. I believe they did have the full torah. Cain and Abel were offering sacrifices. Where'd they learn that? ‭1 John 3:4 "Everyone who practices sin practices lawlessness as well. Indeed, sin is lawlessness." When is transgression of the law. If there were no law (Torah) then how did Kane sin? The Israelites were wandering in the desert and God told them to pick up enough manna to last them throughout the day. on Friday they would pick up a double portion so that they would not have to go pick up any on the sabbath. And if they did pick up extra any other day of the week it would immediately rot and worms would come out of it. So don't you think that maybe they were curious about what the Sabbath even is since there was no law? You quote the verse about all the law and the prophets hang on these two commands, but people often dial to understand that the prophets also hang there. So are the prophets also done away with? Jesus is asked this question about what is the greatest law and he give the best answer possible. If you are loving God with all of your heart mind and soul you will follow his Torah and you will also fulfill the first four of the ten commandments. Likewise, if you are loving your neighbor then you will also be following the Torah and fulfill you last six commands. He gave the most expert answer. It is impossible to follow the law if you do not love God and your neighbor. It's a summary after all. Do we not know what a summary is anymore?

Oh sister. I encourage you to fact check your interpretation of Apostle Shaul Paulos. He never forsook shabbat, nor did he eat pork or permit it. Consider what Galations is refering to throughout the entire letter, is his rebuke of the circumcission group. Circumcision is not done by the hands in the flesh, but by the Holy Spirit/ Ruach Khodesh in our hearts. The law that is (has) passing away is circumcision by the hands and sacrifices. Yeshua is our once and for all sacrifice, reconciling us to the Father. But also consider during the Millennial reign of Yeshua from Yerushalayim when the temple has been rebuilt during Yeshua's reign, that anyone who doesn't go up to the temple to keep the three main feasts do not get rain for the entire year. Can we work unto salvation? No!! No one is righteous unto salvation, & all our works (unto salvation) are as filthy menstrual rags. Yet we are exhorted to work out our salvation in fear and trembeling, and to strive lest we fall short through disobedience. Zechariah and Elizabeth were obedient and blamless in all the Torah and they were called righteous. The epistle of James/ Ya'aqov states faith without action shows your faith to be dead, but faith in action makes your faith complete. The Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 19:10b; 20:4. The accuser/hasatan goes to war with those guarding the commands of Elohim and possing the witness of Yeshua Messiah. Do serious Christians have a witness/ confession of Yeshua? Yes. Do they, guard and keep the commandments? No. Particularly the sabbath. Do orthodox Jew's guard keep the commandments? Yes, and a whole bunch of men made doctrine and dogma to which Yeshua rebuked in Matthew chapter 15. Do orthodox Jew's have a confession of Yeshua? No. If you are not grafted into Yisra'el/ Israel as stated in Galations 3:25-29; 1 Corinthians 7:17-20; Colossians 2:8-15; Acts 15:23-29 & Romans 2:26-29. Some of what you relayed of your experience was not right, and it is sad that you experienced this. But as another brother relayed in a post here, don't take onboard what does not align with scripture. The isolation you spoke of is concerning. Mass means sacrifice, and sun god worship involved child sacrifice). As Jeremiah 16:19 says: 19. These texts, show up the changes instituted by Emperor Constatine and his court scribe Eusebius in the 4th Century to the bible we have today. The narrative is essentially the same, but there have been some harmful 'tweaks' added, as well as showing up simple misstranslations, etc. Of note from historical documentation is that Emperor Constatine declared the Messianic church/ kehilah/ assembly heretic. Consider that. In approx 321AD Constatine calls the original Assembly/ church of Yeshua HaMashiach/ Jesus Christ heretical. I find the most accurate teaching of the word of Elohim from Michael Rood, which you can watch for free on youtube. Or visit www.aroodawakening.tv Or Facebook at Shabbat Night Live. Shalom

At the very beginning of your comments, you state that Paul never ate pork or permitted it. Does the following passage imply that Paul was permitting it? "Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof.” If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience." - 1 Cor 10:25-27

@@dancingzolins6782 sister, why did you not quote the following verses which give the context? You can clearly read that Apostle Shaul Paulos, a Pharisee of Pharisees (of which he stated), who also stated elsewhere that the Torah is rightoues and that he loves the Torah. Who also is quoting Psalm 24:1 & 50:12. The context dear sister, is meat sacrificed to idols. Remember, they did not even consider pork food, because as a Pharisee of Pharisees know's, along with the entire Jewish nation, pork is not food. Now those who were converted to Messiah were also taught the Torah as Yeshua taught Torah, so gentile believers are then grafted in and also learn the perfect and pleasing will of the father. They learn Torah. So, what is the law that was passing away? Temple sacrifices, as Yeshua is our once and for all atoning sacrifice for sin, reconciling us back to the Father. Hallelujah, praise YeHoVaH, we could never do it. Circumcission of the flesh is also done away with, which Shaul Paulos spent all of the epistle of Galations expounding on. And in Romans, & Corinthians & Colossians. Instead we are circumcised by the Ruach Khodesh/ Holy Spirit in our hearts. That's the 'New' part of the New/ Renewed Covenant. The marriage contract has changed. Instead b of us having to bear the responsibility, Yeshua bearsnthe responsibility under the new terms of the marriage contract. He shall do the work in us. We see this written in Deuteronomy, and Hebrews. And of course tithes to the temple & the Levitical priests. Why? Because Yeshua is our eternal High Priest. And we are instructed not to forsake the widow, the orphan or the poor in the body of Messiah. As in the responsibility rests with each of us to look out for our brothers and sisters in Messiah. Please, if you have any more questions, I will answer them. I saw the pain that you suffered present on your face when you spoke ofnrhe isolation. There seemed to be another faltering in what you were taught, but I can't quite remember it. It may have been a queery I had. Look forward to hearing from you. Shalom

@@dancingzolins6782 Shalom. You're not keeping that passage in it's proper context. It's not talking about eating *UNCLEAN* meats like pork, it's talking about eating *CLEAN* meats that may have been offered to an idol. Those are two very different things. In fact, if you're interested, we have a video (Video 13) which addresses this very thing.

Hmmm, my first statement concerning you. A question even if I might say. Which one? God's ways, or man's ways? There ought to be a difference between the two. Is there something wrong with Passover, you know considering Jesus is supposed to be the actual Passover Lamb? Should I go on? What's on the menu of the FDA? Do you know what's in your dog food? Don't remember pink slime in your McDonald's? Is there something wrong with the Sabbath? Wait! Jesus is the whole reason for something I'm wanting to look forward to and have my rest in Him that I can experience that, come that Day. A reminder once a week from the American Dream! I suppose Memorial Day is more holy for you.

You seem very sincere, and kind and I appreciate many of your points, however being a former reformed protestant myself there are vast carry over into protestantism from Catholicism. There are many things that are taught by men like you reference that are also not in line with ancient orthodox Christianity. I would encourage you to read the earliest Christians, study the eastern churches and learn what they teach as well as looking into Anabaptist teachings as well. The Eastern churches do keep several festivals, acknowledge that Saturday day is the Sabbath and Oriental Orthodox today have church twice on the weekends the Sabbath (seventh) and what they also call the eighth day and the first day. I am just learning about Hebrew roots after extensive reading of the ancient bishops directly appointed by the Apostles and evangelists who gave us the new testament. Please young lady be careful, the moral law and the ceremonial law are indeed very different one is binding on all people, some exclusive to the Jews. I would be happy to dialogue with you if you have questions. I believe a work called the Apostalic constitutions by Clement of Rome (who like the author of James was a bishop ordained by an apostle) can explain many things you do not yet understand. Again thank you for your warnings about this movement and please consider that apophatic theology is superior to kataphatic theology as drawing the negative space in art helps you to arrive at a better picture, one of course helping to give us a better mental picture of the Invisible GOD than do positive assertions.

So I only leave one thought. When you mention “the new covenant”, what covenant is that? In the whole Bible, there is one new covenant. It is with Israel. It hasn’t come yet because they do not believe the promised Messiah has come. So the written Law still stands. Not ceremonial law, not oral tradition. The law that is the instructions to the Most High’s people. The Master telling His people what makes Him happy and what upsets Him. That’s all.

Lets follow the logic here: What a Jewish person who keeps Sabbath, but doesn't know Yeshua? Do they goto Heaven? If not, why? If they do, why? If you say 'no' and then 'they need Yeshua' then you've just stated that your salvation lies in Yeshua + something else (in this case Sabbath, but guessing you'd lump lots of other things in there like Feasts, etc.). So, Yeshua's work on the cross, and the Scriptures saying it is placing our hope and trust in Him is not entirely accurate, because it would be Yeshua + Sabbath. And that is not biblical.

Why would scripture say not to eat pork (but now it's ok) we are told in scripture (EVERYONE) not just the Jews are to keep Sabbath. I thought The OLD Testiment was VALID for reproof (clearly not). You have invented a new religion. Not just a new Covenant. I agree we should be berians and to be careful in what we preach. But what you are saying is LAWLESSNESS. If we have no law we are lost. Legalism and lies against God’s heart can be found in any direction when you follow people who put rules around rules and say things God never said to you. The root cause is having a Pharisee prideful spirit that needs to be revised, repented of, and renounced. It has less to do with “what” rules around rules and more to do with the fact that you put rules around rules and miss out on the relationship God wants you to have with him through his son and spirit. We are ALL adopted children of God, if redeemed by the perfect blood of the Exodus 12 lamb Jesus (yes, Yeshua in Hebrew). I have zero ties to the Hebrew roots movement, literally zero other than helping people get out of some very strange added teachings of it that caused them harm. Yet, I read my Bible and in my Bible it said celebrate these feast and festivals as a lasting ordinance to teach to our children and we have FUN with that. They all point to Jesus and Sabbath is blessed for rest and a great day to do the work of the Lord in peace. Yet while our family Shabbat Friday evening at sunset, we understand what Jesus meant when he said “sabbath (rest day) was made for man and not man for the Sabbath.” We volunteer at church on Sundays and help family on Saturday, yet we learn from scripture and not corrupt teachers that ignore God’s heart and try to claim you can’t even pull some weeds in the sunshine while playing worship music even if that’s how you find rest. Things like Shavuot is also the day of Acts 2 and a day to focus not on cheesecake or turn into modern political debate, but actually seeking the Lord and being filled with the Holy Spirit and the truth of the basics of scripture as you study and pray over them in unity with others, although there’s nothing wrong with having cheesecake. Yes, the 10 Commandments are the milk that does still need to be had as part of early growth. The big thing is stay away from Hebrew roots teachings, because they are not the teachings of scripture, instead as you read scripture simply do as it says and you’ll be blessed if you do it in the right mindset to the glory of God and to build your relationship with him and not try to fit in or create an identity with a culture that is really a cult of idolatry against him. From what I’ve heard when people repeat Hebrew roots teaching, they knew indoctrination that required twisted scripture. When a Lutheran doesn’t know Jesus would have actually been born in the fall that’s not a sin as they take December 25 to celebrate them, yet it is a sin to try to claim the devil has more ownership over December 25 then God does and create division because of it. When would Jesus have been conceived by the Holy Spirit? What is 9 full months before what is mid to late September? The devil is not a creator, he is a counterfeit and a thief. Don’t empower him in ANY direction. If you want to know what God wants you to avoid pray this prayer. God search my heart, revealed to me what I should give over to you. God forgive me for going to false teachers when Scripture says that if we are your sheep we hear your voice through Jesus your son. Help us to always check what we hear, be at from The spiritual or earthly realm to scripture. Help us not to fall into traps in any direction, Jesus light the way.
