Oh, super camping activity... not much to carry as supplies, and they could do this technique on rocks... simply dip the rock on the water, and instant designs!!

Very Creative ! & Great idea on how to put the laquer & other finishes in small bottles. It saves you more money to get more product.
@Hectanooga1
@Hectanooga1 10 жыл бұрын
It does save lots of money to buy larger cans or containers, and transfer them to smaller bottles, both because they are easier to keep handy, and the original containers are a nuisance to open, so smaller bottles makes them much more convenient. Since I use lots of these, I usually buy a gallon of white glue as well, and then fill up my smaller bottles.

Emmy, we just went to Mexico and my hubby bought a pendant that was said to be made out of "bone" and because of your realistic faux beading, I don't believe them. Can you make a realistic looking "bone pendant"?

Yay! Glad you liked it! I got a box of 4 bottles at the dollar store last week, for $3.00... that's not even $1 per bottle... they were the ones I used in the last sample, (red, pink, turquoise and silver). I was a happy gal when I saw that!! I love glitzy nailpolish, but I would never wear it on my nails.. but they are just so awesome for crafting!!!

Thanks. Great idea. My great nieces would have fun doing this. If you use the wood shapes, do you paint them first or just use them as is. I noticed you used some paints as the base on some of the cardboard ones, i.e., the black background. thanks

You can paint them or use them natural... try one method on each side, and see which you like best.

Hello, I didn't get your name at the beginning of your video's, but it's nice to meet ya! I don't know if you've seen it too and just didn't want to do it, but I saw on a couple of other video's where they use a toothpick to swirl the nail polish to make designs.. And one girl said that the polish with the big glitter sinks. I see from this video, what she meant. Thank you for sharing and I'll be talking to you again soon.

+Arlene McGinness --I usually use cereal box cardboard, I save all my boxes for crafting, I simply flatten them down, and store them right beside the boxes full of cereal. I have used card stock, or index cards as well.

Hey I've a problem. I tried that nail polish pendant but when I put nail polish drops in the water, they were not floating. Instead they went at the bottom and I couldn't proceed. What to do? Please help .

dumb questions...I just watched your DIY DRUZY PENDANTS video and can you get the same protection with clear fingernail polish or with glue and water? Or does it definately need the shellak or laquer?

Yes, you can use white glue, or clear nail polish.

Hello! I've tried this three times w/out success. The naiil polish colors scoots off and forms a ring around the sides of the container as opposed to staying like a blob in the center of container as does yours. Any ideas? I have tried different sized containers and tried different colors of nail polish. Any thoughts? Thank you.
@Hectanooga1
@Hectanooga1 8 жыл бұрын
+JILL Ramirez --It sounds like maybe the nail polish is too thin. I have had that happen too... but I don't remember what I did about it. Maybe try applying it directly on the pendant... wet the pendant, and see if it will spread to the edges.
@lindylopez3606
@lindylopez3606 7 жыл бұрын
Another idea you could try is applying rubbing alcohol to spread or blend it out. Since the acetone in the alcohol may make the paint run a bit, it may be easier to achieve the same effect as dipping it in water. I'm not sure because I've never tried it, though! I've only done it with Sharpie ink.
@lindylopez3606
@lindylopez3606 7 жыл бұрын
Also... maybe try spreading a clear coat of nail polish (the ones used for base and top coats) onto the cardboard before dipping it into water. The nail polish may stick better to it then even if the polish is too thin. Just another idea to try :-)

WARNING: wear plastic gloves when you dip your pieces in the nail polish solution. I didn't and my fingernails and fingers were a mess afterwards.... My pieces turned out beautiful though...
