I have always hoped HEDD would make a v2 version of their headphone. V1 always felt like HEDDphone 0.7.5. (like a proof of concept) in that it wasa really unpolished as a commercial product in certain areas.

2 standouts for me at canjam london were the hedd2 and the atrium closed, managed to get an a/b done on hedd1 and the hedd2 and found the hedd2 retaining all the best features of hedd1 and to me the mids and treble were smoother and yet the presentation was a touch more detailed (besides the relief of much lighter weight)

I thought that the original Heddphone was excellent in the upper midrange and treble. That made sense since that is what the amt heil driver was originally designed to do. Where it fell short for me was in the lower frequencies. They just weren’t up to par with the midrange and treble quality-wise.
@PixelPipes

Yeah the treble was definitely their party trick. The bass wasn't bad but it couldn't compete with a well-tuned planar.

That is not a suspension headband. A suspension headband is self-adjusting, which the headband on HEDDphone is not. E.g. K612 Pro, K701, K702, K1000, Q701, Fidelio X2, HD668B, and Rognir are headphones that have a suspension headband.

Yeah I definitely do think the HEDDphone ONE had something special to offer looks-wise. This one looks really generic, which I guess is fine for a studio environment. And what use are looks if it doesn't function as well?
@HEDDAudioGmbH
@HEDDAudioGmbH Жыл бұрын
We are hearing you, headband looks was a much discussed topic in this project. Ultimately, we decided to go down that route, hoping that many audiophiles will put functionality / ergonomics over visuals. Also keep in mind, that many customers will work on these cans in the context of mixing and mastering records. Every day, many hours. 🙏

@PixelPipes
@PixelPipes Жыл бұрын
@@HEDDAudioGmbH I think your gamble is reasonable given the focus on studio use. Audiophiles can also overlook looks if the sound quality is good enough. I mean if people can accept wearing a piece of exercise equipment like the Abyss 1266, anything is possible.
