I watched your video last night, and was amazed on how easy you made it look, even when you made a mistake you never got flustered you just got with the tutorial , others make it look so perfect in there videos but you are so down to earth you are just simply amazing, i make lots of hats /scarfs for charity, i am 72 years of age so you certainly taught this pensioner something new, god certainly new what he was doing when he was giving you this talent, have subscribed and turned on the bell Anna from Ireland.

I'm a new loom knitter, only a few weeks into it, and this tutorial is so amazingly easy. I was able to make a pair of mittens no problem and they are beautiful! Just in case anyone else needs this info - I have extremely small little baby hands (size 5 wedding ring!), so these mittens were way too big for me. I altered the number of stitches to make a proportionate smaller pair. This tutorial's main stitches goes 10-10-12-18 (rib stitch, e-wraps, thumb piece, finger piece). I did 7-7-9-15 to make a smaller pair and they were perfect. Someone might want to try this if you want to make them for a child :D Thank you Lily for this awesome video, I will be looking up more of your tutorials!

I am on my second mitten. I am a new subscriber to your channel. I watched three other crafters showing how to do a mitten and I just couldn't follow along. Then I found you and you made everything so clear. Thank you so much for your clear instructions. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Thank you for this video! My very first loom knit mittens! I modified the pattern a bit to fit my average size woman's hands (I increased length of cuff to 15 rows of rib stitch in contrasting yarn -- cuff can now be turned back if desired; I also shortened thumb to 10 rows for better fit).. I used bulky yarn (5 weight) in super soft and chunky Loops & Threads Charisma yarn. Turned out great! Now I need to make the matching mitten.

Thank you so much. I just made my first pair of these. They were not hard at all, even though I've only been loom knitting 2 weeks. I even had it memorized after finishing the first, so I didn't have to replay the video for the second. I am super happy with mine, very pretty with that beautiful homemade look. Mine are in a thick salmon coloured wool

I made a pair of these. The thumbs are too long. I tried to put my hand through to measure before taking off the loom. I couldn’t tell if it was right. They look a bit skinny to me. They fit fairly snug and look nice. If i can figure out the thumb section. I will try again later and adjust the row count for the thumb. Also i made a cuff on mine. They are a bit loose around the wrist. I will keep trying.

I just made my first mitten, my husband is laughing because it looks more like an oven mit than a cold weather mitten. The thumb seems to be a little long as well. 🤣 Love the video it was easy to follow, but I need to figure out how to make it look as nice as yours.

I made several pairs of mittens using the same loom but a different pattern and super bulky yarn. I like the way you make them, it looks easier than the ones that I made. I will definitely use your pattern before I give up and hand knit them. Thank you for sharing! ❤

I really enjoyed following along with u in your video....yes I made the second one after I finished the first one. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to actually show us how to do the thumb. Do u have any video tutorials on how to made a cute coat thing for a cat on the same loom u used to make the mittens on? Very nicely done video. Look forward to seeing what other videos u have on here.

I watched this without sound and I’m guessing at some point you showed how to reverse stitch in case you made a mistake and man did that ever drive me bonkers. Anyway, this is probably the easiest way to make mittens I’ve seen so far especially because you use the e stitch mostly which is what I’m used to using so thank you!!

This is the first time I have attempted something like this and was very pleased with how easy they were! Moving forward I won’t avoid projects that require fingers, thumbs, protrusions so this has opened up a lot of projects for me! Also I like how you show a couple lines then your video cuts to the next change! Your video was great! I am interested in checking out that jumper pattern you spoke of in the video. Is that video published yet?

I have problems between the thumb when closing up the mitten. It always has a whole or loose area there when I put on the mitten. Very sad. What am I doing wrong?
@laurylc95295 жыл бұрын
Chanda Kelly I’m just starting these mittens now, but I think having a gap in that area is pretty normal for knitted mittens. Even the mittens my grandma made with needles have a gap there. It’s just a tricky area. Maybe try using a bulkier yarn? It may just bulk out enough to hide that gap.
@chandakelly28525 жыл бұрын
@@laurylc9529 I never use really bulky yarn I guess I will try that next. I use regular yarn and double it. Thanks!

I have problems with that's looms. If I use the 24 pegs, the item fit me too big; if I use the 20 pegs, it fit me too little. Maybe, is the thread number.🤔

The e wrap is the largest knit stitch, most stretch in it. If you used the u wrap stitch for this pattern it would make a smaller mitten and smallest would be flat knit stitch. There are videos online for these stitches and they are simple variations on the e-wrap stitch. I just finished a pair of fingerless gloves using the flat knit stitch and they are snug on my medium hand so they'd fit a small hand too.

@jessicabowers35336 жыл бұрын
If you get an adjustable sock loom then you can use the same pattern on that. Sadly the round looms don't come small enough. But don't give up. My next investment is a sock loom

Use a 12 peg loom. I'm currently making a pair for a 9 year old girl. Her wrist circumference is 5" with 6" from tip of her middle finger to the top her wrist. 2" thumb. Hope this helps.

Maybe this is a silly question; is it possible to use a flat/long loom to do mittens? I'm particularly curious about lovers mittens. Thanks for a great vid!
@LilyOak6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you basically do the same pattern, but where it says to work in the round, work it the flat and add an additional stitch on each side, then when you are finished just stitch down the seam.
