Hedy spoke 5 languages by the age of ten a remarkable woman gifted with intelligence and beauty. Brains and beauty? Most men can't hack someone able to out think them regardless of how humble. They have to be humble too and unafraid to defer to her intellect.... I'll bet with the ego's of those guys, they could not do it. Melania Trump came to the US on an Einstein Visa (IQ of over 200) no problem with citizenship. Trump has no problem deferring to her, she is strong, brilliant and quiet. Most men aren't that strong. How many men would operate like that, unintimidated by her intellect? I cried, too. Bc I heard she was a tramp. I really didn’t care nothing for her. But now, I do I have a better understanding of how she did her best to navigate the times of her life. - She did the best she could with what was available to her. God rest her soul 🦢
@KevinSanderson3 жыл бұрын
@@BarbaraMerryGeng I've known a few tramps. Hedy wasn't from what I've read and dug into. Mostly it was the terrible gossip columnists and reporters trying to get stuff going. And the ghost writer of her book who she sued. She started life as an only child and was well off until the Nazis started taking over in Austria and her dear father lost his bank director job. People do and say terrible things about good looking people. Then she had problems with her first two natural children which is understood now as medical and mental issues. Jerry is wrong about her adopted son and he probably got that from a sketchy source. There's more info on him now and he had more issues in Omaha in 1969 and 2000. But he was a bad kid and with Hedy's problem starting with Denise's birth, and the continuing mind games in Hollywood she couldn't cope easily. Thankfully money and other problems were less of an issue before she died.
@RSEFX3 жыл бұрын
@@BarbaraMerryGeng I suggest using "I didn't care ANYTHING for her" since "I didn't care nothing for her" means that you DID care for her (ie, this is what happens when you use a double negative---they negate each other). But sometimes people use the double negative as a deliberate affectation to make a point. Maybe that's what you are doing here. If so, please excuse the intrusion and "language preaching".

@@kathleencalhoun2225 One story I read was she had an assistant at one time who would pay for goods she shopped for. Possibly she forgot or was mixed up which store she was in. Celebs often have arrangements and Hedy had that with some stores. My late younger brother worked at Borders in Ann Arbor and Bob Dylan came in on a break from a tour, turning over books going through the store. An assistant was following behind and picking up the books Dylan turned over to be purchased later. The rich are different from the rest of us. And as the police found she had a check for thousands in her purse at the time of her first incident. I think she was acquitted. I vote that she was mixed up after the years of "Dr. Feelgood"'s Vitamin shots that contained amphetamines. Cecil B. DeMille got his shots and other famous people like JFK. Dr. Jacobson didn't get shutdown until the early 1970s. Hedy had those shots from the 1950s. Hedy had a lot less money later in the 1960s. She finally had more when she settled with Mel Brooks in the 1970s over the use of her name in Blazing Saddles (Mel always liked her so it was an easy lawsuit), and a lot more after Corel Draw settled with her after using her image on their software boxes in the later 1990s. She lost millions on bad movies - some here after she left MGM and the ones in Italy, bad husbands/divorces and lovers. Her last film was in the late 50s. She also didn't make much when she was hired by MGM, and lost money when they had their disputes. There was a time when she was collecting just Social Security and a small check from Screen Actors Guild.

By the end of WWII it did matter.

I LOVE this song by Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck This is a song for Miss Hedy Lamarr Erased by the same world that made her a star Spun out of beauty, trapped by its web She's a perfect cocoon entwined in gold thread Her beauty is spectacle, the thoughts too pure The light of her being, her exotic allure Was torn at the seams for daring to dream It's so hard to speak when you're frozen in scream Yes, it's all what it seems Feels like a dream But it's life, and it's death She began and she ended like baby's breath I don't believe I don't believe In humans anymore I don't believe I can't believe I won't believe In humans anymore It's so hard to talk when no one will hear And everyone stares as you quiver in fear It's shameful, shameless, painful, painless This song's for you, Miss Hedy Lamarr How bright you light those lost white knights So long ago, so far away Feels like a dream or a cosmic fiasco I don't believe I don't believe I don't believe In humans anymore I don't believe I can't believe I won't believe In humans anymore Not anymore Stripped of belief A thief is a thief Who's gonna stand up To give you relief? Of all dispossessed It's so hard to digest You've no right to sit down If you're nobody's guest.
