HEED Crash Bars & transmission reinforcement - BMW R1100GS Build

Time to turn Brutus into a proper adventure bike ready for the rough road. Bought of HEED Crash Bars from Poland and transmission reinforcement for my BMW R1100GS. They were not the easiest to fit had to get a little bit creative but it worked out in the end. They feel strong and durable and really well put together. We'll see how they last in time.

I had HEED bars on my old tiger 800. Absolute faf however they do their job well

Considering the entire kit was just 365 euro shipped to my house I can live with faf to mount, and yes they feel strong, haven't dropped it yet but they feel strong.

Mine fit perfectly the first time I Installed them. After her being pushed over multiple times parked in New York City the bars are now warped & it takes hours to get them aligned when I remove them. I assume you'll have the same issue

Great Video Alex, Are you going to rebuild the engine? Or fit a secondhand one with low km. I've seen online with only 30,000km for around 500 Euro.

Are there any skidplates that does fit with heed crashbars that doesn't cost almost the same as crashbars itself.

Haven't found one but the crash bars ofer under engine protection.

@@RideWithAlex Yeah I notice it too, they indeed offer some protection but I don't feel comfortable to drive in deep sand, mud or samller trails or cross big logs or anything like that without proper skidplate.

Use a metal plate with holes on the corners. Zip tie it into place and you'll have some added carter protection.

Holding up allright, dumped it twice now on dirt and they are fine.

FIRST! NHT 200 is a better motorcycle. Lighter, nimbler and a lot more epensive. BETTER!

Hello Alex, just seen your video. I've just installed the Heed crashbars on mine 1100. It fits great but the rearbolts on the underside don't seem to go in anywhere. How did you do that?

A lot of pulling on them with straps, it was a huge pain :)) kind of scared to ecer take them off
