Had this pain for months... Almost sedentary in the house... Corrected my big toe and now one week later I am having my first day without pain. Thank God for this video, I am so blessed.

Great video, nice to know the pain in my heel is probably coming from my bunion - which I'm now working on with toe separators, to see if that will fix both problems. Yay Bob and Brad! Yay Dr McClanahan! I had bad plantar faciitis about 20 years ago - and it took several years for it to gradually go away. It's good that it's understood better now, and other people can be treated much, much more quickly.

I had the heel spurs for ten years, when I went to the last Dr he told me to start wearing Cowboy boots. So I did and in about four weeks they were done.

Any tips for someone with plantar fasciitis and navicular bone? I’m keeping it under control by making sure I have shoes with enough space and doing massage to feet with a small gym ball and ice bath every day - anything else to consider?

Dr, I know you mentioned zero drop shoes are best because the gastrocs shorten otherwise however when sleeping the foot goes into great plantar flexion anyway.

Any thoughts on heel pain + calf strain/tightness?
@sweetaggiegal Жыл бұрын
That’s almost what I feel I have. Like my calf is so tight that is causing the pain.

So could my plantar faciosis be caused by damage from nocte foot/ calf cramps
@RichRich1955 Жыл бұрын
I got pf 20y ago from narrow shoes. I built up the arch substantially and I think that helped but I was less active. 2y ago I got it again probably from narrow shoes and hiking up a mountain. I thought it happened from not stretching the calves. I got some 'tread labs' insoles. The highest arch. I also used a hydrocollator heat pad to prep the calf muscles and it allowed a better stretch. It made a difference for sure. The pf is 98% gone after 2y. I'll get some toe spreaders. Very informative thanks.

My heel pain comes on in bed during the night. First started when I fractured my femur while in hospital recuperating.

My heels hurt when I get out of bed. But only one heel and sometimes another heel and not everyday. It can’t be plantar fasciitis could it? Could it be caused from lower back pain?

From this segment of the interview, I don't feel like any real treatments are given for a patient to deal with their heel pain especially if you don't have bunions. Even watching the whole interview, I guess you are just supposed to wear wide flat shoes?
