I remember my seniors being so tall when they were in 11th and 12th grade. Now when I try to compare the average height and overall physique of my batch and theirs, we really do look the same as we did back in 7th grade. Video request- Broken Indian healthcare system As a young healthcare professional, I can attest to the vast disillusionment in the current generation of graduating Indian doctors. The public healthcare system is inhospitable and the corporate healthcare is squid-games level predatory. Doctor-patient trust is badly fractured. The incidence of doctor burn-out, suicides and mental health issues are at an all time high. The ultimate victim eventually is the common man. I face these issues after finishing 13 years of medical training from the best medical schools. Unfortunately, like a lot of my colleagues, I am forced to explore options to migrate to a western healthcare system, not for better opportunities or money, but probably as a last-ditch thriving effort. I respect your research methodology and impartial factual presentation. Hence, I humbly implore you to present your take on this issue.🙏

Mohak, i think that this video of Soch is one of the best research work done by you.. I personally thank u for bringing this matter into lite. Most of Middle and lower class families have to look in their pockets before buying things... Low income salary Slab, different slabs of pay in different states. Too much difference in salary pay in metropolitan cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru. A person gets higher pay in advanced mertropolitan cities in comparison to other cities. A security guard or a kfc, dominos employee hardly gets only 10k a month with an average working hours of more than 10 (not including their traveling time). So how can we expect that they have the capability to feed their children well.

The amount of rice and roti PPL eat is actually more than vegetables or side dishes . Then indians love sugary drinks like milk tea and sweets . Also eating timing and stress causes pot bellies in men and women from late 20's onwards. Many PPL do not walk 5 kms every single day ! Indian ppl don't exercise or take good amounts of protiens or vitamins . Also we tend to cook everything who sometimes eliminates all the nutrients. So yeah

This effect is evident on a personal level for me. When I was in the age group 0-8, my family didn't have good financial condition and thus my height is average due to poor nutrition even though I was very athletic. Whereas my 4yrs younger brother has gotten somewhat better nutrition since birth, has grown taller than me and is above average height even though he isn't that athletic. Nutrition in the womb and the initial 10 yrs can decide the quality of life ahead.

The Indians living in the USA are usually tall and us European Americans get the impression that Indians are tall not short from our experience but the web says that Indians are usually short? Us white or European American men average 5'9" and the Indian American men that I see in the USA, well atleast young adults are mostly taller than 5'9" and I would say that their average height is 5'11". Their families are usually from western India, as far south as Kerala, with most from northwest India. Maybe Indians are shorter in their eastern states but even if they are they are still taller than this 5'5" average BS that I read from average height websites.

The census in India should be revised and made into categories. Height among middle class has actually increased in 20 years. I am 5'7.5 and I was among the shortest in my school. 6feeters are way common now, and most middle class children are taller than their parents. Infact most viewers and commenters on this channel too fall in the category whose height has increased. Separate categories will better the lives of our BPL friends and less fortunate ones.

Actually outdoor activities provide body the need to grow and be taller..... And maybe not outdoor activities, but the need of height in that situation......our ancestors needed tall height to protect themselves from wild animals...... Body need more energy to circulate blood in bigger the body.....so if body doesn't find the exact need to be taller, then it slowly decreases the height of the generation, in order to conserve energy and maintain body...... And you are right it doesn't contribute that much, but its contributes very much in generation to generation...... Its not like you will be short if you don't play outside, but your upcoming generation could be short time to time if you and your upcoming generations do not provide the need for body to grow taller..... It indirectly contribute to the genetics factor that you told and not directly affects the height......

As a 13 yr old who is 180 cm or 5’11”, I feel pretty tall around most people, My height is mostly totally on genetics as my dad is 190 cm or 6’2”, And my grandfather 183 cm or 6’0”, Another reasonable factor of my height is i play badminton and basketball, I started it last year or 2022 in 8th grade and have been doin it ever since, Another factor being the location where i am from, My family belongs to JAMMU AND KASHMIR, The average height there is 168 to 170 cm, BUT! I myself live in BIHAR and there is not concept of extra-curricular activities, Our maths teachers or science teachers take our P.E. periods, Us students only have the stress for passing, having good grades,

Much needed video… when everyone are fighting about the hunger index ranking… People are just bothered about the rank… without realising that a major part of our population have still not got proper nutrition… Work on that govt… rather than spending time to prove datas wrong… proving data wrong can only help to save ur image, not the people… This is a reality and no matter how hard you try to hide it… poverty and hunger still exists at a high rate in India.

Many factors determine a person's height, but natural selection/sexual selection is often overlooked. Most probably because it is linked with genetics, something that is completely out of our control. The truth is that 80% of an individual's height is determined by the DNA sequence variants they have inherited. Yes, our environment plays a significant role too but it's nothing compared to what you inherit from your parents. Even if your environment is fully optimized to maximise your height you'll only grow according to your genetic potential, not more than that. In Europe, even during the world wars (which led to food shortages, poverty, and all-out destruction), the average male's height increased. How? the answer may lie in a study done on the Dutch population. A study published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B shows that tall Dutchmen on average have more children than their shorter counterparts and that more of their children survive. The study suggests that sexual selection is at work since Dutch women prefer taller men over shorter men. The same effect wasn't seen in women, who had the highest reproductive success when they were of average height. The study suggests this may be because taller women had a smaller chance of finding a mate, while shorter women were more likely to lose a child. These researchers also studied the height of Americans and found that the height of the average American had levelled off between 1937 and 1940. Research among Wisconsinites showed that average-sized men had more children than shorter and taller men, and shorter women had more children than those of average height. Researchers speculate that this might be because humans often choose a partner who's not much shorter or taller than they are themselves. Because shorter women in the United States have more children, tall men may do worse than those of average height because they're less likely to partner with a short woman. Again, you can not pin it on a single factor but I believe this downward trend of height among average Indians is because of natural selection and also because of vegetarianism.

Dude you really need to know the exact truth . First of all your 80% height is not dependent on your genes ... According to latest Quantum research we can change our genes .... Yes we can change our genes so enviornment affects our genes more than anything .. so nothing is pre destined.. it's just our belief system that's it . # CONDITIONED MIND

@@vibhorejaiswal2997 just look at the progression of humans .. from australopithecus to homo erectus to Neanderthal and finally homo sapiens , we have grown weaker physically and stronger intellectually . Not just that even among Homo Sapiens earlier beings used to be stronger for example , Chengis Khan , Alexander , Prithviraj , Chhatrapati Shivaji . Us getting weaker physically is directly proportional to us getting smarter . We dont dig mountains manually , we make sofisticated tools controlled by mere finger movement . We dont put stress on our muscles unless its for instagram. Our body is adaptive , and it will adapt to the less physically challenging environment and grow weaker with time
