I think Lord Aeron would try to tame Grey Ghost. From his point of view it's an heirloom from his grandfather much like his sword, Dawn. And, as you've said, his goal is to match his grandfather's achievements, one of which is taming the very dragon currently bothering his peasants. Besides, what's the worst that could happen ? Lord Aeron dies and now you have to play as Young Aeron ? That's not too bad. And if there's one thing we learned from the Velaryon playthrough, it's that failing CAN be fun. So I say go for it.

Lord Aeron would realistically and thematically try to bond and tame Grey Ghost since he was his grandfather’s dragon. Along with the fact that Gray Ghost is currently ravaging the Torrentine lands of Dorne while he is Castellan. Lord Aeron would be honor and duty bound to claim his grandfather Lord Tion’s last heirloom in his loney and ravenous dragon. Also, hopefully. King Aelor of the Iron Throne tames Meleys and King Aelor of the Crimson Throne tame Vhagar for a third dance of dragons!

I think it's best to start an scheme to bond with Meleys than to tame a wild dragon, which is very dangerous. But I would focus on building a dragonriding house with your sons or grandsons, as Aeron has to low dragonriding blood that it will be very dificult for him to bond.

I think Vhagar should go to one of Daemon's line, they already have only one dragon. You have 3, I assume the Iron Throne has a few as well. It would make the Crimson Throne a more serious threat and keep a balance

I think Aeron would try and tame Grey Ghost after his egg turned to stone. He knows Grey Ghost and Grey Ghost knows him, his grandfather was able to tame him without a pre-established relationship so Aeron would have that advantage. Aeron would also probably want that connection to his grandfather as well as the massive advantage of having a 50+ year old dragon.

I think Aeron would want to try and tame Grey Ghost once Young Aeron is a wee bit older, but the fact his kids are future dragon riders might weigh heavily on him. I think he might want to visit Old Valyria to see if he can learn more dragon lore there

The trauma of your fathers death would not leave you easily, and feeling the egg die in your arms plants a seed of doubt in your heart. I think you attempt to bond with a dragon, but do so cautiously. Maybe its as you see your children grow with their dragons that you decide to attempt taming a dragon. But at the same time, Grey Ghost cannot roam free too long. Something must be done, and you are the most likely candidate to it. Perhaps try to bond with him first and see what the events bring. But i dont think Lord Aeron would rush to attempt this taming. Maybe some event triggers that pushes him to go for Grey Ghost. But I think it is something he doubts in himself after the stone egg

I think you get increasing bonuses to bonding with a dragon as you continue doing it, so it might take a while but it should be possible. I think Grey Ghost is the clear attempt, with Aeron trying to exceed his father. In that vein, he could go for an even bigger dragon though.

I dont think Aeron would cradle a egg for himself considering he is already halfway to 40 so even if the egg hatches, the Dragon wouldnt be useful to him cause it wouldnt be ridable for years. And he dosent seem like the type to back down from impossible odds so give the final egg to Daemon or one of your kids and try to tame Meleys or Vhagar. Does Aeron really want to take to the skies in his 50-60’s on a small dragon or does he want to tame one of the biggest dragons there is?

Also maybe instead of going to check if your sons dragon hatches constantly, you should go to manage realm affairs and choose to get informed about new dragonriders and new hatchlings

That’s a fair point, though I think Aeron’s curiousity about dragons and his own heritage may have caused him to see if he could hatch the egg. Remember that his own father was burned to death and eaten when he tried to tame a dragon; even though Aeron is brave, a trauma like that would stick with you especially since it happened when he was young. And now he couldn’t even hatch an egg? He may be doubting his own abilities when it comes to dragons. We’ll see if he overcomes them.

@@StrayKing Yeah i completely agree but like someone else has said in the comments, the worst thing that could happen is that Aeron dies and you continue playing as his son and that wouldnt be the end of the world. Also dont keep influecing your wards to be brave, i want some variation in your charathers and calm and patient would be more fitting to house dayne rather than brave. And these brave warriors types are starting to become very repetetive.

Obviously, Lord Aeron is going to try to raise his children to be brave and it is in character. The main branch of House Dayne will be brave but the one of Sunspear might not be.

@@Nubin2000 You dont have to be brave to be dragonrider especially since Aeron’s son has already bonded with his hatchling. Not every dragonrider has been brave and Aeron’s son would be the 6th characther in a row that is a brave fighter so some variation would be nice. The main characther in the last five series has been basically the same characther with very minor differences. Yes it would be in Aeron charecther to make his son brave but having every characther being a copy of a previous one gets boring quick.

I think for the purpose of balance daemon should get some eggs from a "raid" on dragonstone where he could in theory swoop down and force the dragonkeepers to grant him eggs whixh they would agree to as they would respect him as the oldest and most experienced dragonrider or just from meleys

You need to destress Lord Aeron ASAP with the traits he has, his current lifestyle is one of constant stress and you gotta mitigate that fast otherwise he’ll end up dying of a heart attack before any enemy on the battlefield or dragon gets him.

The fourth book’s appendix outlines the various houses so you can see who leads each. I think you should try a bond with the wild dragons besides gray ghost because the knight who chooses is not the dragon and maybe despite the odds you can bond with one of them after all if it's just to take the odds into account Tion I would never have accepted a mission as dangerous as killing a dragon, if I had to take the odds into account, Tion would never have tried to bond with Gray Ghost, becoming the first with non-Valyrian blood to ride a dragon, and if I had only to take into account The odds are that Tion would never have attempted a war to regain the rightful territory of Dorne by fighting much larger, fiercer, stronger dragons, with more than one, in enemy territory and have won and lived to tell the tale. in short try and don't give up no matter the odds so honor the name Dayne and the sword you carry and try, try, try and try aeron doesn't need an egg to be like his grandfather so stop trying the easy way of the egg for targeryen girl and do like Tion just try despite the numbers and odds

Well done 👏 absolute wonderful episode. Lord Aryn should maybe focus on upgrading the dragon pit to be ready for more eggs and focus on making his sons and grandsons riders maybe try and bond with a dragon himself. I think you should make your daughter and son personal sigils classic Dayne layout but with their dragon's colors, And go for grey ghost, high risk high reward, and brave and ambitious as Aeron is he would be dying to get a dragon when his children has some. worst thing that can happen is that you play as Aeron with a dragon.

Sounds like I am in the minority here. I do not think Aeron would try to tame a dragon. His ambition is to be seen as a great warrior himself, not as a rider of a fearsome dragon. I think he respected his grandfather and tried to follow in his path, but deep down he always disagreed with what he viewed as Tion's half measures. There is no honor in losing a battle fairly. You wouldn't sheath Dawn because your opponent doesn't have Valyrian steel. War is best ended quickly, regardless of the means used to end it. Aeron will use dragons because he has them to use. But I don't think it is "brave" to risk your life to tame a dragon when you are the Sword of the Morning. As for future goals: Aeron has now further tied his dynasty to Targaryons. Maybe he desires to give the younger generations a claim on kingdom titles, but I think it more likely that he wants to tie the Dayne's future to the house he sees as the one with the greatest means to rule. He yearns to be the Champion of the Iron Throne. Maybe it is The Sunflower that is his best chance for that. He just made one king and has been rewarded with the power and prestige of hand of Dorn. Maybe he can be another king maker with Dameon's son and help put him on the Iron Throne. Being the general to reunite all seven kingdoms is an ambitious goal worthy of Aeron and house Dayne.
