Restoring the Umbers should be a priority as you retake the north, keeping another powerful dynasty loyal. I agree that maybe making your Bastard lord of the wall would be cool, but I’m wondering if you should restore the Night’s watch at all, given they’ve failed to stave off the wildlings this time. Holding Castle Black yourself could lead to an opportunity of uniting the first men later on!

I think your son should focus on stewardship, Artos will deal with affairs martial wise, but North need a rebuild economy wise, you want to restore Moat Caitlyn, build a port for potential invasion on Ironmen. Also Starks come from a guy literally named "the Builder".

See to me the Dragma ship makes sense to me a bit cause they've been together since days of beyond the wall. She's one of his most trusted advisors. The last pin was that she had a vision that besides just love, their union will create someone that will play key player later in the game. Whether it's now or further down the road. And Artos can tell she's not lying with his belief in magic

Greetings my lord, I have heard of your request. I do agree for your son to be educated in learning, that means he has to be given to someone, since you're not good in it. But i do worry that the person may not give your child good traits, so I urge you to find someone who's both high in learning and has good personal trait. And i like that you give your son diligent or other good traits while you're still educating him, though it might give you stress, but it will be good for him. I believe you should save your money to build all things you plan to build before using for other activities. Or else your plans will continue to delay.

Between your Bolton half-sister that was sent to the 40 year-old Mormont when she was barely a teen and now the 11 year-old girl you betrothed to the well in his twenties Garth just because you wanted him to not be single, Artos is NOT looking like a just and honorable character, he's looking like a sociopath !

@StrayKing It's accepted as a necessary evil if there's a political justification for it. For example, Viserys marries Daenerys to Khal Drogo because he's desperate to get an army. Or Tywin makes Tyrion marry Sansa to try to strengthen the Lannister hold on the North. If that's how you see the two cases I mentioned in my initial comment, then you need to adequately present it to the audience. Instead of basically going "Who should I marry this adult man to ? This litteral child will do." and then moving on.
@StrayKing4 күн бұрын
@@damienc.6448 Hmm, I don't know where the actually in world justification for it being seen as a 'necessary evil' is? Neither of the examples you give offer any indication of the age difference there being considered a problem. Obviously I agree with you based on our modern day sensibilities but within the context of Game of Thrones I don't think anyone would consider either of the two betrothals we arranged to be abnormal at all.

I dont think Artos should have landed his half brother, Mallador is a complete POS and a arrogant and diligent Artos would notice that and would consider Mallador as a threat to the lives of him and his children and Artos wouldnt care what his mother thinks cause she clearly has more love for the bolton kids considering she has raised them. Mallador might not have a claim that he can press but he would still be in line to inherit if Artos and his children were to die and Artos would know that Mallador definetly would have motive/want to murder Artoses kids cause he is a patient stubborn sadist. Mallador seem like the type to hide in his room torturing kittens and plotting Artoses demise.
@StrayKing3 күн бұрын
That probably gives Artos a good reason to shove his half-brother into a small, rundown castle away from court; placates his mother, gets Malador away from anything and anyone important, and also gets him away from Artos who was probably tired of having him in Winterfell. It’s maybe not the wisest decision but it gets him out of Artos’ hair which might have been the whole point.

I feel like sometimes we get this narrow view of House Stark from the books, but in the lore they had many Kings and Lords who committed massacres, wiped out entire houses, etc… they’re definitely not all Ned Stark types! 😁
@slimmdusty88094 күн бұрын
@@StrayKing I was about to say the same, feels like everyone typically will view the starks as all being like Ned. When in reality throughout all the years of lore its unlikely every stark ruler was a selfless and trusting person. Only difference with Artos is that he is his arrogance in my opinion that makes him different.

Hey dude I'm going to be honest you're kind of playing this Stark is a bit of a douche. I know he's arrogant but I don't know any Stark under any circumstances who wouldn't acknowledge their bastard. The Starks seem to have a long history of acknowledging bastard sons and brothers seriously look at how many Snows are at big events in Stark history and you'll see what I'm talking about. I feel like that was kind of a misstep in the role play and you're kind of playing him like a bit of a sociopath and I'm not sure I like it
@StrayKing4 күн бұрын
Not too many Starks have been witches who performed secret rituals with Wildlings to ensure their victory in battle... or had to go on the run because their entire family was wiped out and hand to spend years scrounging by, barely surviving, and having to claw their way back to power. Feels like these are pretty exceptional circumstances.
