Sorry, I'm really off topic here? Anyone noticed pigeons dying? We had 2 nests in the garden, one was OK, 1 chick and Mum, the other, the birds (including Mum) were dead, wedged in the twigs like they had just died and fallen out the nest? Saw another two while walking the sprocker today, just fallen from nest and caught in the lower branches, land that's not shot? Woodys? Is it Bird flue? Hungry rats? Crows? Seen rats climbing into the trees after the drought (dispatched pronto). Group of swans died near me recently, suspect was kids with air guns. Police called, full scale, but vets said they all died from bird flue? Interested in comments.

Whereabouts in the country are you? There are lots of reports of bird flu at the moment - but it's hard to know if that's because there's more of it about, or more people reporting it. / Charlie

@@fieldsportstv Cheers. Northants. Been here several decades, often see dead ones on the ground, but these are in the trees, like they just fell of their perch so to speak.

@@fieldsportstv Hi, Update... Two sick pigeons in the garden today, fluffed up and on the ground, one bleeding from the beak. I could approach them to within two feet without them moving? A dam cat then went and got one got one, the other was still hobbling around at sunset. I actually rang DEFRA and explained. Thumbs up to DEFRA, spoke to a a very nice guy who was all ears, took details etc. I know there are more reports because of more observance but never seen this before. Massive apologies for misdirecting the comments section. I'm a shooter but you people are much more field wise than me which is why I reached out. I know them as barking deer, so many around here. Lots of dead ones from road kill. 1 a mile.

Gareth Maund how the devil are you... seems like a very long time ago when you was a lad helping your dad at Sedgeford, hope your living the dream!

Surely someone could have found her a proper rifle. Watching it jam on ejection is par for the course! Why no one told her to do some loading unloading drills is beyond me. I shoot left but use a right handed rifle and can cycle the bolt with my right without losing the sight picture...not your best showing lads.

glad someone else noticed that, and was she shooting left handed, right eye dominant ?
