My prayers go out to every single person, we moved 900 miles west because of the hurricans, in North Carolina, Florence got us bad, and the North East Cape fear river, it put 9 foot of water in our home in Chinquapin, NC we had enough!, sure it was nice to go fishing, but when surf city started with there parking meaters it was time to move, surf city, NC will NEVER be Murtle beach, but I think that what there pushing for. More like ripe off city, ( watch your wallets you tourist!) 😢

40 people died? In September 1900 , over 6,000 people died in Galveston, Texas . Read Erik Larson's excellent book Issac's Storm! After that hurricane ,UNION General William T. Sherman said this , " If I owned TEXAS and HELL, I would live in HELL and rent out Texas"! Galveston later raised that island and built a protective sea wall . That quote was found in the Appendix of Larson's excellent book!
