The one thing that stands out about Helene is who got out immediately with their chainsaws and 4X4's and cleared the roads. Who came in from all over the country to repair the roads and get the power back up. It was not the government and most were just regular people who saw a need.

As the old saying goes, if you want something done, you can not really depend on anyone but each other. My heart is breaking for the people of the damaged areas. It will take a very long time to recover especially with winter coming on. Praying for all the people that have lost every single thing and for the people that are helping our mountain communities.

The ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness & perseverance of local VOLUNTEERS gets the job done because they CARE and have a HEART ..when will society learn, you can NOT pay most government staff who work a 9 to 5 shift ...including FEMA ..to CARE or have HEART !!!!!! Far too many REGULATIONS ...when folks are suffering ..it's great to see some break through these dang regulations 'n red tape to help folks. God Bless you all!
