I love your sauces. Your recipes are very much in line with my experience. On my first trip to Da Nang in 1996, my spring rolls were served with a sauce made with mam tom and pineapple. It was strange to me at the time but delicious. My favorite spring roll sauce is made of sauteed scallions, hoisin sauce, and coconut milk. They are all blended together and served with crushed peanuts. A friend's daughter from Da Nang taught me how to make that sauce.

We make these as appetizers for our holiday meals. By dinnertime, everyone is already halfway stuffed. They are a super healthy snack. We like the Saigon variety.

Hi Helen, your recipe is very good but I think you should try adding slices of sweet and sour mango or pineapple slices to your rolls. Also with your dipping sauce try adding a tablespoon of sweet and sour sauce and it will taste really ngon👍

Your rice paper wrapper might have been too wet. You should just use a damp towel to apply moisture to soften it

Has anyone been able to find the rice paper from the second recipe that doesn’t require water? I’ve had it when I was in Vietnam, but I could never find it in OC. I wonder why it’s so hard to find here

Are you thinking about egg roll wrappers? I've never seen rice paper that didn't require rehydration.

@@opwave79 I have seen egg rolls that were wrapped in hydrated rice paper instead of egg roll wrappers. That makes for an extra crispy egg roll.

The name of the dish in this video is incorrect. Gỏi cuốn is Vietnam Summer Roll, not Spring Roll. The KZbin channel owner has incorrectly named this traditional Vietnamese dish, causing people to misunderstand its name. Goi cuon can be translated as summer rolls OR fresh spring rolls. You can watch international channels to learn more
