Wow Helen I can’t believe you’re 50! I saw a photo of my dad’s mother at 50 and she looked like a typical granny with short curly grey hair, glasses, middle aged spread, thick ankles and sensible shoes with her floral pinny on. She looked more like a 70 plus year old woman. That was in 1950. How people have changed and youthened as the decades have passed. Happy Birthday!

If you'd book a restaurant and told them it was her birthday they would mark the occasion. I had mine at Vagas Grill in las America's and they decorated my table, added balloons, and I got free cake with a sparkler in and they stood at my table and sung happy birthday to me. Plan to do it again this year.

What is lovely about the videos with the two of you together is a) such a wonderful dynamic but b) it is lovely to see two people in middle age so clearly in love with each other as if they were in late teens or twenties and I think it it brings a lot of joy and comfort that there is whatever age as you get older a happy ever after. I still really enjoy your solo vids James, I really enjoyed your Cornish trip and when you went around where they filmed Kes (I forwarded that who a friend who sadly passed away last month but loved that film and really enjoyed that video)

Hope you had a fab 50th Helen. I absolutely loved this 😂 We went to Los Cristianos 2 years ago for my birthday in March, loved it. We stayed in an apartment on top of the big shopping centre that you walked past. Great area. Then last year for my 50th in March we went to the North of the island and stayed at Puerto de la cruz. It was really nice . I think I preferred it up there a bit more Spanish, lots of little bars with live Spanish music on. 😁🎶🎤🌴 And we've just booked for Fuengirola for this March. Can't beat getting away for a bit of winter sunshine when the weather is crap over here. 😎🌴 Looks like you & James had a fantastic time. We went in that little bar El Jaleo in Los Cristianos were you had the prawns, 🍤🍷 its lovely. James made me laugh when he pronounced it "Jaleo" as you've probably already had comments on this, a "J" in Spanish is pronounced as a "H". So it would sound like El Haleo. But Jaleo sounds so much better. 😂😆 Can't wait for your next trip away. Keep it up guys love it..😄👍🌴🍷🍺 xx

Canarian potatoes are the best potatoes in the world. Tapas is our favourite food, it’s best way to share. 😉 Roxanne’s is one of our go to bars to sit and people watch. When my son comes to visit he too gets his fix on seafood: he’s been know to have 3 main seafood meals in one sitting. If you do ever come back to Tenerife we’d love to meet up and recommend a few places to eat, both budget friendly and higher end. So pleased Helen had a wonderful birthday.
