That Enstrom flys almost as smooth as a Schweizer 300 ! Nice approaches on the numbers every time, avoiding the flow of fixed wing traffic too.

Danny Stewart haha i say the Schweitzer not as smooth as the Enstrom! Can’t beat the high inertia rotor system! However, both great helicopters with pros and cons!

Love the info from HOGS. Learned a ton just from the vids. The ‘conservative’ flying recommendations are great.

Thanks this helped me on Xplane11/Bell 407. RLP for 1800 hrs / 33 years of Fixed Wing on a Glasair IIS-RG until the dreaded Medical got me. My biggest problem is handling the transfer from forward speed to hover/landing exactly on the dot, the "tunnel" is such a fine line

I appreciate your harping on the GA. So many of the mil pilots I've flown with were the macho type that would screw the pooch. Best pilot I flew with was my MTP. Never a "fly it in anyway" missed approach. If he didn't like the set-up, we executed the GA. His habit was to do a full touch-down on every landing, then back to a stable hover to movement to apron. Very seldom was there any sliding on the skids, or float before TD.horizontal a vertical speeds were almost always in full sync. One pilot in particular loved the fast approach with dramatic flare at the end. He didn't get to fly my bird very often, because I didn't like his aggressive style. I would purposely ground my bird if he was on the schedule. He is also the pilot that had a hard landing from a HIT 50 ft hover, before I was assigned a bird. Mediocre pilots damage equipment on a regular basis, as you well know.

On the topic of go arounds, one thing my school is teaching when practicing go arounds is to move to the right of the runway after pulling in power and regaining airspeed, or possibly to the left of the runway if there are obstructions or any kind of unsafe condition on the right side. They say if a DPE calls for a go around that is one of the major things they look for and will fail you on your check ride if you don't do it. Apparently they (FAA) want you to be in the habit of moving away from traffic or obstructions or whatever other reason you might have done a go around for. Is this the same up in Warsaw? I'm not sure if this is just an added safety measure specific to my school or if it's common everywhere.

You cannot do a sloppy set up on a rooftop approach at a hospital setting...that outcome will be U-G-L-Y!
