I really like Helikon's products, they do seem to think things through when designing things. Most recent product I got from them was the Swagman roll, everything great about a poncho liner but with so many smart upgrades.

Great info, I've had mine for a year now and use it fishing, hunting and hiking . It has been great and super durable. I added a Condor compact dump pouch to the side for foraging. I like your idea of adding the pad to it !

Have one in Shadow Grey. It looks practical not tactical. Purchased for daily use, work bag. Carry's my lunch, thermos, iPad , stethescope and some edc. It's very well made. The Cordura is soft, very packable, the zippers are quality, its light weight and carries easily slung over a shoulder and when getting in /out of vehicles. Its a very easy bag to live with. Not convinced it would hold up stuffed with all the bushcraft tools I see in these reviews. But for my purposes, I haven't found a better option.

Even the GREAT company Maxpedition uses 500D. I like this bag. Now I am going to be out some bucks, lol. I have been gravitating to haversacks. My ten C kit in one side. My food in a left carry. And a smaller ruck pack dedicated to sleep comfort and change of clothes. My knife always on my hip and fire kit as well as smaller pocket knives are always in my pockets, along with my compass.

Nice piece of gear! And I too prefer the kidney carry as opposed to hanging at the side.

Personally I prefer a top flap when bumming around the forest, it helps keep debris out of the compartment. I've actually come full circle now from smaller bags to a big one like this that you can pack for an entire summer weekend and back to the smaller bags like the Polish Bread Bag (which I grabbed a while back for $10 Canadian). I also prefer the straps to attack at the back these days as well. This one is nice though and certainly worth considering.

Adaptive Green I've held up against Coyote and it seems to blend a lot, it's almost like if someone took Coyote and added some Ranger Green to it. I guess that's why they call it adaptive cause it seems to gel with either green gear or coyote gear and not stand out.

Never understood why people bring multitools/leathermans out into the woods... most of the tools on them are equipment specific, not found in woods. And they’re so heavy to boot.
@sophieb95774 жыл бұрын
The same in France... Just ridiculous.

I carry on a belt. Don't notice the extra weight at all. I use a Leatherman with a knife, pliers/wire cutters, scissors, some screwdrivers, sewing awl, bottle opener. I use at least 2-3 of those every time I go out on trail.
@MrTangent Жыл бұрын
@@gregmatchett7110 Never needed any of those on trail, except a knife (I always carry a fixed blade). It’s cool you do find uses. If the weight/space isn’t an issue, I guess why not? I’d just rather carry more fire-starting gear in its place.
@gregmatchett7110 Жыл бұрын
@@MrTangent are you not carrying the Leatherman in a sheath on your hip?
@MrTangent Жыл бұрын
@@gregmatchett7110 I don’t carry one into the woods. I have better tools for wood tasks (Gränsfors Bruks axe, Silkysaw, Condor Bushlore knife, etc.). :)
