This jacket saved my life july 12th. I flew over 100 feet...and I'm here typing this. Thank You Helite Edit: Someone pulled out in front of my 08 Vrod and I clipped their rear corner panel. I flew from the intersection and landed with the back of my helmet/head on a curb which then pinballed me into the street. I broke a couple ribs from the impact on the car and broke my talus....but didn't break my neck/back/anything else because of this jacket. To the idiot saying I'm paid by the company...im a builder and don't have any ties whatsoever with the company other than calling them after I was in recovery to thank them for their jacket. I sent them a photo in an email of the wreck and they offered to fix my jacket for FREE even though I was technically out of their warranty period. I declined because I'll never get on a motorcycle again(too scared honestly) but from talking to them on the phone(the guy I talked to was an Australian sounding guy) and from emails I could tell they were legitimately concerned for safety and the guy was genuinely happy I made it out alive. I told them they could use the photo I sent and my email if they wanted to but have never heard anything else from them for ads or whatever. They didn't care about using the story and legit just cared I was alive. Believe what you want...im alive and can see my kids and wife and that's all that matters to me.

My Helite turtle 2 arrived in the mail today, looks fantastic all fitted perfect and ready for a ride tonight. One criticism Helite should move away from the plastic clips as they look cheap and they are not a cheap item at $1000 Aus dollars. Thanks Enrico for your great service - Helite Australia.

I have both the vest and the adventure jacket. I only use the adventure jacket when it’s really cold (relative for Florida) the vest gets more use because I can wear my mesh jacket in summer months and leather jacket in cooler weather under the vest. One thing not mentioned in the video, the vest can be washed in the shower with a hand towel and soap. The adventure jacket to wash you have to remove the inner air bladder. Not difficult because all the connections are color coded. If someone is in the market for these products personally I would get the hi-viz vest as it’s much more versatile to use with differing riding gear. Also, as far as fit, I’m a big guy (44 chest) my adventure jacket is a 3XL. Consider your waist size ( and belly)as well so you can comfortably zip up the jacket.

Strange how the photo at 1:41 only shows deployment quite a long way into the crash. Basically a lot of damage can be done before the tether activates the bag. Compare that to the alpinestars techair in the same crash and there really is no comparison. Yes Helite is cheaper but I’ll happily pay the difference
@HeliteMoto5 жыл бұрын
You are looking at full deployment at 1:41 which stabilizes the head and neck. True, deployment time is not 45 milliseconds (it's 80). But what's more important is that with the digital systems, you won't have any head and neck support. They simply don't displace enough volume, nor do they cover as much area.
@bobmcgrath12725 жыл бұрын
Helite Moto not entirely clear on why digital systems cannot displace as much volume. However I’d like to see more neck support for the techair. But...the Helite does not protect before the tether activation leaving a window of damage. I applaud your company for the safety system but please don’t misrepresent the level of protection it provides
@HeliteMoto5 жыл бұрын
@@bobmcgrath1272 Not sure why the digital systems don't displace the same volume or provide head and neck support. It's something that should be provided. The dynamic you asserted before is that because our systems deploy at 80 milliseconds that the alternative option for a digital system is somehow better. Of course without addressing the fact that they don't cover or support, even remotely, the same area as Helite. So the trade-off as far as you have represented it: faster deployment, with less protection over more support/protection at still an effective deployment speed. Misrepresenting indeed.
@bobmcgrath12725 жыл бұрын
Helite Moto Helite deploys at 80 milliseconds after the tether has activated and not from first impact. So up until the Helite is activated your area of protection is zero. Of course you won’t agree as it would mean admitting to the major flaw in your design.
@HeliteMoto5 жыл бұрын
@@bobmcgrath1272 You should be aware that digital systems operate on the same principle. They detect an accident by the rider's body in relation to movement, not by impact. I hope that clears up your confusion. We can't agree because what you are saying is not related to any evidence. It's sort of going against a paraphrase of Occam's Razor with you here. For example "what can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence." However, we are providing evidence of deployment speeds, protection coverage area, and injury window times (as according to NHTSA) etc. despite your unevidenced claims. Please don't take our word for it. We have hundreds of testimonials from riders and racers regarding the effectiveness of our systems. They may help dissuade your alarm and are available to read and watch online.

@HeliteMoto6 жыл бұрын
Hey Mason. I spoke to you via FB messenger and it is the same as I mentioned. The levels of safety for both are nearly identical with the exception that the GP Air has cut out in back to work with a race hump. Additionally, the GP Air has double the turtle effect as it has armor in the back as well as armor in the front! It's not a question of which one is safer, but what kind of riding you need it for. The turtle covers all bases and fits over any pre-existing gear. The GP Air gives nearly the same protection but works better with a race hump yet doesn't extend to the tailbone like the Turtle.

So lets say I want to buy the Helite Adventure Jacket, would you recommend having another layer good motorcycle jacket under or this the Helite Jacket enough?
@HeliteMoto6 жыл бұрын
Our Adventure jacket is enough. You don't need any other layers or protective gear if you're riding with a Helite ADV Jacket.

ok so silly question maybe, what happens when you dont crash but, you just stop your bike, you park it somewhere, and then you just forgot to unstrap yourself, as in your jacket attachment from the bike, and the vest pops up, do you need to buy a new jacket is it single use, reusable? whats the case here? :P
@HeliteMoto6 жыл бұрын
It is 100% reusable. You would have to leap away from your bike in order to deploy the vest in the event you forgot to tether while dismounting. It takes about 60lbs of pressure to release the keeper from the mechanism, deploying the airbag. Let's say you fell over when dismounting and the vest deployed. All you would need to do is replace the cartridge and you'd be ready for your next accident. Here is a video detailing how simple it is to change a cartridge - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmW7gmuEr5Wcd5Y

hope they design one that comes down lower to protect tailbone and hips, perhaps have it strap around thighs. I'd wear it.

what if the biker get involved in accident which get harmed with out getting fell down from ?the motorcycle , how the vest gonna open
@HeliteMoto6 жыл бұрын
Hi Omar. I am not really clear on your question. Could you rephrase it?
@Jaguar74446 жыл бұрын
I guess he's saying if the rider doesn't get separated from the bike. Probably like a slide or something. I'd imagine it wouldn't need to inflate anyway.
@HeliteMoto6 жыл бұрын
If that is getting at what Omar was asking, even in a low-slide accident the rider moves enough to activate the airbag. In fact, there is a recent video of a racer at Sears Point low sliding in a corner, "stays with the bike", however, the vest deploys. We get this question a lot. With the tether installed correctly, you only need to move a matter of inches in any direction before the vest deploys. Let me know if you have any other questions - zak@helitemoto.com

Do safe drive. Don't think this can save whatever circus you guys do in road.. It can save only you from small accidents... Keep helmet and airbag and keep god on heart.. I mean don't think airbag can save you if you in overspeed.
