I love your business. You offer enough free stuff for anyone who can't afford or won't pay for the paid stuff to solve their problems the 'high effort' way, and you offer super reasonable paid suff for people who don't have that much time and just need to buy the tool that's going to solve their problem. I love that Line6 keeps adding to the Helix and really listens to their customer/user base to improve it. The new effects are DSP intense but to achieve the same result you would have to use 2-3 effect blocks to get the same result so it makes sense.

I have been using the Helix with tube amps & power amps with real cabs for a couple of years now... amazing.. I am very happy with my tones. Crazy is I haven't really dug in to what it offers.

I’ve found changing the cabs and the mics has a huge effect on the sound. Quite a few of the amps have that blanket over then sound and changing those two things can get rid of that.

Haven’t updated yet but that new L6 amp seems right nice! I think L6 (Ben’s) home-brewed amps are well on their way to modeling notoriety. Their Litigator has proven to be extremely versatile with gobs of great tones.

They’re all different flavors and styles. Depends on the usage/need. The hall is probably my fave but the plate keeps up and is a VERY close second.

The read me file tells you what the new block for 3.15 are - those are the only new things you'd want to drag in. You'll need to re-download the file from the email (or your account on the site).

You guys should do a video on the new command center feature that lets users cycle through a set pattern of snapshots. Could be really useful in a live worship setting - it's barried in the release notes and the description is a bit long winded.

It's pretty straightforward, it just means every snapshot will have its own command center commands.

Always grateful for your phenomenal support of the Helix within the Worship space! Your interaction with each other and us is simply superb! Had a quick question on DSP regarding this update and the previous. I use many of your specific song patches, but then tend to use your "Main Worship" patch for songs that we do that WT does not have a specific patch for. I predominantly just modify the delay tempo, and then use the snapshots already programmed in the patch. Trouble is, the "Main Worship" patch is pretty near maxed-out on DSP to where you can't really swap out the reverb for the Dynamic Hall or the Dynamic Plate. Do you guys have a suggestion or recommendation for doing that? Granted, it could be that this new Ventoux patch might supersede that. I'm currently updating HX Edit and the Helix now, and will go buy the patch. Any thoughts you could throw my way would be greatly appreciated!

The new effects (heliosphere in particular) are using more and more DSP therefore limiting the amount of blocks you can use dramatically. I think they are getting close to needing a Helix 2.

If they can come up with Helix 2 but at a more affordable price than the FM9 or the QC, they will beat everyone else. But that is if they can pull it off while improving their modeling quality.

I have only had mine for a week now and it shipped with 3.1 so I was like “meh….that’s recent enough “ but then I saw the additional amps and pedals and that made me go for it. My head is swimming at this point. Just loaded the HX Edit and that’s a whole new level of head swimming awesomeness. The first thing I did was go through each preset and take notes on which ones I like and which ones are useless. Can I make one that is unique and is better than the ones a pro made at Line 6? Lol I doubt it. Maybe tweaking an EQ or control on an amp or pedal, but from scratch? Maybe once I get my head around it, I can come up with something that’s just for me. We’ll see

Hey guys, appreciate this channel, much love. I downloaded the favorites pack and installed them all on my Helix LT. I went to swap out a reverb and delay from a patch for the ambient delay and the hallelujah plate to try out and I got the "8611 DSP overload" error, all the other delays and reverbs worked ok apart from these 2. Are they meant to be using up more DSP than the other favorites? Is there a way to check/track DSP usage somehow? Thanks from Australia 🙂

Actually, the easiest thing is just to open HX Edit and it pops up a message saying there's an update and will update HX Edit first, then backup the Helix, the update the Helix. No need to be going to the site and downloading files any more.

Not sure it's just me listening to this in a music studio (in other words, with professional gear for sound) but I'm hearing a lot of clipping in this video at any resolution. It's making a lot of the high gain stuff sound very digital due to the clipping.

Ah I see. Yeah in the release notes they said they were going for an early Fender Tweed meets 70’s Orange circuit. If you lower the ‘mid’ slider you’ll get more of a black panel Fender type sound. Then if you keep it clean and push it with overdrives you won’t get that kind of crunch out of it.

I gotta say, your opening banter hit a nerve for me and I haven’t really figured out where to vent on it where perhaps a few others might agree and somehow get Line6 to pay attention and the nerve you ask? I shelled out a pretty good buck for the HX Effects modeller because I’m a guy with Friedman and Bogner amps and I don’t need a modeller that bad, but within a month of buying the much hyped HX Effects Line 6 dropped the HX Sromp in the guitar world, amd have pandered to that section of the market ever since.As an HX Effects owner I feel like the red headed stepchild of the Line 6 world. The updates are all feared to the Helix users (and as the main platform justifiably so) and the Stomp users with extra banks etc, and we get whatever fell off the platters of the Stomp/Helix feast… Throw is a bone will ya?!
