I ordered one of these and the handle was beautiful. The right half was nice and dark and the left was bright. It’s quite the chopper too.

Using a steel belted radial tire, there is a high probability that the axe blade will be damaged from the steel belting in tire.

A tree splits from the top to the bottom. Of the Tasmanian pattern axes the True Temper Kelly Dandenong made in Canada would the best splitter. Try a 4 lb on a 28" handle.

Nice axe. With chunks this big, and hard, you get much better results splitting by working around the radius of the log round, as you did 2nd time around. This is, as you say, primarily a felling and limbing axe. I notice it can also easily get wedged in the cut. Probably the sharp bit and a profile than lends itself to cross cut chopping than splitting. But still competent enough and a super piece of craftsmanship. Thanks for the review buddy...axe on!

put a 36 inch handle on it with a curved tail.

I did think about it in the beginning but after you get used to 32 inch handles, there is no going back.

ordered one, I wonder if the gloss finish makes it more sticky in the wood.
