Be interesting if it is “souls inspired”. Looks like a distinct ARPG to me. I have wanted Fromsoftware to do a contemporary souls game. Looks good.

@@OD91MJ armored core is pretty much a contemporary souls game but original. If you mean a combination of modern tech and medieval fantasy then I think FS could do something so so so much better than this. I’ve been waiting ages for something stylistically original like R Bakshi’s Wizards to come around and will wait some more. This ain’t it.

Every single game that has a sword and let's you dodge or parry it's instantly a soulslike. So i guess also DMC & Ninja Gaiden are not action games but Souls Games

Soulslikes are a TYPE of ARPG in my opinion. What sets it apart is usually the heavier emphasis on risk versus reward as opposed to a straightforward power fantasy.

Soulsborne game with a setting similar in tone and style to death stranding. Focus on gameplay and story, no sign of DEI or sweet baby, it'll be another hit.

hopefully this is multiplayer. the best soul-types are. it's crazy how every dark souls and even Elden ring is coop but somehow all the imitators only make single player
