Having an R51 myself using narrow tires is the key from what I discovered. No lockers on mine. Ran 235/85r16 best tire size on everything sand and rock crawling. Tried 285/70r17, and 265/75r17. The next tire size I'm trying is 255/85r17 "narrow 35s". Should be a mix of both tall and narrow tire advantages without wheel offset change or doing a body lift.

Does 265/75/17 rubs on fender on stock offset wheel

Do you think the axles and CV’s can handle the extra leverage of 35in tires? I’ve been wondering for my R51?

@@wadesafool The Weakest link is the spider gears in the front diff getting shock loaded. Best to replace with a Lokka Locker or swap to the Armada diffs front and rear. You can get away stock by being careful about wheel spin.

@@wadesafool for the diff-only swap no just need to take the inner CVs from the Armada axle and put it on the pathfinder axle shafts.

@@mikehub6664 dude your awesome! Thanks for the knowledge! These pathfinders don’t have much aftermarket support so I really appreciate it! Do you know if they have a locker for the armada front diff if I go that route?

What is creaking/clanking with your suspension? Sway bar? I am dealing with a similar situation with my frontier
@JTube571 Жыл бұрын
Funny you ask because I am wondering the same thing. I am not running any sway bars currently and have checked everything else for tightness. A coworker mentioned something about maybe the body mounts are making noise? I'll be doing a body lift soon and will grease them when I'm in there.

@@JTube571 I have heard that the front ones near can be problematic (squeaky). I’ll have to look into mine as well. Squeaks are the most annoying thing to track down. They drive me nuts.

@@brackeng1294 I found out that at least one of the bushings on my front upper control arms has failed, so that's likely causing the noise. I bought some Z1 arms, hoping to install next weekend.

@@JTube571hey mate the clunking is your front upper control arm hitting where the front coils are bolted, the top people here in australia shave a little bit of the metal because the uca hits it a little bit when its bottomed out
