I'm definitely excited for Hellblade 2! I also found that turning off raytracing helped with the overall frametime but the UE4 traversal spikes were impossible to get rid of. Definitely worth your time to finish this one, the ending sequence of this game was incredible.

Should be interesting to see how hellblade 2 performs in unreal engine 5. I did try with ray tracing off a bit later in the video. It didn't stutter as much but it did still do it. I've got this one installed on my steamdeck now so hopefully i will finish it soon!

@@BenchmarkBoy I am also interested in seeing how it performs. Definitely glad I have a good PC to play it because it will be locked to 30 fps on Xbox which means it should be a fairly demanding title. I look forward to seeing you try it out!

Wait & get the 5090 like me.. I have a 4080 super... or u can just get the 4090 & that will still be pretty good for 4k gaming for newer games coming.

@@504Trey Ahh no obvs not close theres a big150w difference but still, a 30fps difference is massive....the 4090m is supposedly on par with a desktop 4070ti - 4080.

@@positronikiss yeah that difference makes sense with the mobile 4090 performing more like a desktop 4080. The difference between a desktop 4080 and 4090 is normally 20-30 fps

Hey! Great performance review. RT in this game is pretty intensive, performance-wise, while it does not really add much in terms of visuals. But what really annoyes me is those horrible and quite frequent stutters. How the developers could even release their game in this state? I can not understand it. It is deifintely not UE4 issue, as we have a few games, based on UE4, which do not stutter at all. These are Gears of War 4, Gears 5 and Days Gone. The latter one is a massive open world game, still it runs much smoother than Hellblade, which is a very linear and pretty short game. I really hope Hellblade 2 won't stutter like this. It would be great if all publishers and developers cared about the quality of their games as much as The Coalition, Bend, Kojima or Guerilla/Nixxes. Games should not only have great stories, immersive worlds and enthralling gameplay, but they also should be perfectly polished from the technical side.
