Listen closely and you'll hear its turbo spool up. The Dakota is heavily modded and being forced air and fuel via a turbocharger. The Hellcat Challenger is powered by Dodge's 6.2 liter Supercharged Hemi which makes 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the wheels via Chrysler's new 8 speed transmission that is manufactured by ZF.
For 2018, Dodge introduced a Widebody Hellcat with a base price of of $72,590.00.

318, 360 and even the 4.7 are all underrated motors and when built can be nasty motors especially in a light platform like the Dakota

Unfortunately the aftermarket world for the 4.7 is almost non-existent. Even for a good intake adapter to run the ford 4.6 intake you're paying a ton of money. Nobody sales cams, and HO cams are discontinued, which is the only ones that can be ground to spec for boost applications. It's basically a HEMI with OHV design, but nobody cares when the 5.7 or 6.2 is available.

@@joshuatracy4829 I just have a programmer on mine and was going to get some third party HO cans ground to 224r spec with the 4.6L intake, head work, turbo, standalone etc, etc. But it'd be cheaper and more fun for the buck to just SAS and 5.7 Hemi swap or 360 swap.

I had a 2001 4.7, and now have a 1997 318. The 318 is the better motor, no doubt. The 4.7 has little bottom end, few parts available, and most have head gasket issues eventually. It's not a horrible motor, but the 318 is a workhorse.

A question, if you’re not able to make a truck, and make it light, are you even supposed to be making one ? If a truck weights a lot in itself how the hell are you supposed to load stuff in it ? Then you need to have better suspensions and all that and the truck becomes more expensive..... trucks are light, that’s why they suck in the snow unless you got weight behind.

Not to nitpick, but the Dakota lost by about a 10th of a second... The Hellcat Driver clearly didn't know how to launch. The time is impressive though for the Dakota. I own a Dakota V8 H.O., I can only hope to eventually get close to those times when I can afford to mod it.

no the dakota won the race. his time was slower as well as his MPH but he crossed the line first. it was a holeshot win but still a win. it's clear that both the dakota and the hellcat are evenly matched so the winner is decided mostly by the driver and not the car.

people need to understand HP is one thing but gear ratio makes all the difference in the world. 392 mated with a 3.55 or 3.73 means you loose top end for quicker acceleration 3.06 and taller means more top end but slower off the line.

magnums are no joke. the heads flow with 18cfm of ls truck heads. bigger bore than ls, shorter stroke. stout bottom end....dont know why they dont get any attention.

My 04 Dakota 4 door is getting a 6.0 lq and 5 speed swap with a 12 bolt Chevy rear. Love Chevy drivetrains, but the Dakota is perfect for me. Now to get some 6x6.5 hubs - lugs going on in the front . 03 Durango rotors and calipers. Camaro rear discs. Think I can make a cam and crank trigger / wheel setup and use hp tuners to run the LS on the dodge sequential map based / speed density tuning ecu? Hmmm , I might just be the first. So LS Dak it is.

THat was what it was from the factory stock. If you had the 5.2 318 it was 235HP and the 5.9 360 was 245 to 255HP stock.
