I just grabbed mine two weeks ago. 2016, white, 6 manual, 3k miles. It was owned by the dealer and wasn’t titled until end of 2017, paid 53k. So I get basically a new car still under warranty for 28 months due to late title and very low miles. I couldn’t of been happier, love the car! Oh it came with 2 red keys lol!

6 Challengers and a SRT Jeep and now to a Hellcat. Best decision I made was trading in my 2015 Sublime Green SRT Challenger for a Used Hellcat.........Do it dude...Spring time they are going to be harder to find due to great weather and other things. Shit or get off the pot.....Great vid.

They have a 2015 Challenger Hellcat at Acura Orange Park in Jacksonville Florida with 22k miles for 45k. Car is red, clean and a 6-speed manual. Looks good but they took a pic of the speedo that said top speed driven was 160mph so whomever had it was getting on it pretty good. Lol

In Canada all SRT products only have 3 years powertrain warranty lol Everything non-SRT is 5 years.

there's a couple important things that you're leaving out maybe because you're not aware, most of 2015 and the first half of 2016 hellcats had defective superchargers that the bearings were going bad and they had to replace the supercharger luckily they found a new vendor, number 2 if you go on a Carfax site looking for hellcats you will see a number of low mileage hellcats that have tons of electrical issues and front end alignment issues that makes me think it's been wrecked and rebuilt or either flooded and rebuilt bottom line you see a super low mileage Hellcat don't always mean it's a cream puff
@mikebythesun6 жыл бұрын
Cababy 12 Yes, the bearing issue is definitely something to look out for. I have a video up here on the channel showing what a bad supercharger sounds like. Re: #2, i ran into that, too. I was looking at a used ‘Cat that was being offered for a pretty low price. I did some digging and found out that the cradle had been replaced, and if you looked at the front end from the right angle you could see there was a slight bow. You get what you pay for. Thanks for the comments.

Same with the scatpacks. Seen a few 8 speed autos for under 30k.

Excellent informative video Mike. I am in New Zealand so can't comment on the market for these over there. I CAN say though, no there is really no practical reason to spend this type of money on one of these. It's a catch 22. On 1 hand hey, cease the day, ya can't take it with you, only live once, take it by both hands, life is too short, yada yada. On the OTHER hand, it is a lot of money, - for me it was. 130k here in NZ for mine. 17 and only had 92 miles on the clock ( delivery miles ) it's insane! That's the cost of a 1/4 of my house! Crazy! Alas, here I am. There she is, in the garage. Is what it is. I don't regret it 1 bit! Every time I look at the car let alone get behind the wheel, it is just magical. Good luck in your decision and hunt Mike :)

If I traded in one of my cars for a hellcat I would probably have to put springs and sway bars because I hate the wheeled Gap that the hellcat has.my two SRT's are already lowered and have a bad ass stance so it's hard for me to trade it in for a hellcat. The horse power that my cars have seems adequate. Your SRT would be hard to give up it's very bad ass. I would keep your car and put springs and sway bars trailing arm and new swaybar links get all the body roll out. I would put strut towers front and back your car is so badass

I recently traded in my 2016 SRT 392 m6 for a left over 2016 fully loaded Hellcat. Got lucky because it’s pretty much how I would have ordered it. Go mango A8 with black laguna leather interior. It was built on a Wednesday June 22 2016 and rolled of the line at 9:30 pm if I’m not mistaken. That’s according to the m,d,h sticker. It was on the lot for 1.5 years. I got it for 59k. Sticker was 71k.It had 11 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. All their Hellcat where always locked and no test drives. Love it love it love it!!! The best upgrade I’ve ever done. It’s on a whole different level of bad ass. I’ve got a grin from ear to ear every time I grab the red key and fire it up.

Christopher Kassner awesome man! Thanks for sharing that. You got a SICK deal indeed, which must make that mango even sweeter! Love that color too - it’s one of my top choices I’m looking at.

I'm day dreaming about a hellcat too. I've got a 2016 SRT in white with tan interior. you basically have the twin of my car lol.

Great videos! I am in the exact same boat as you and also located in NC. I agree that with you that I should wait until the Challenger with the exact options I want is available on the used market. I haven't had a chance to test drive one yet to see the difference between the SRT and the hellcat. Have you? Is so, did it really seem worth the extra cost?
@mikebythesun6 жыл бұрын
BIGBC I haven’t driven but I’ve been in them. In fact here’s a video of my first experience in one with my son. Starts at minute 10:36 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6jPl5KegtKlotE

BIGBC I think 222hp/210tq more will make a stumping difference!
@bigbc93446 жыл бұрын
Hemi Mike Thanks Mike! I am pretty sure that the increase in power will be significantly noticable but forums say that the difference isn't noticed much until highway speeds... I did take a look at the video you recommended. Not sure if I could tell the power difference from the video. But this video series has been really great and I have learned a lot. In addition, we might be in competition for the same hellcats since it appears that we both live close to Raleigh. 😀 Good luck with your search!

Hemi Mike Haha, yeah man we might be taking turns on test drives! LOL.. The power delivery is definitely there in the Hellcat - that torque is ridiculous, definitely more than what I’m used to with my 392.

I have driven an SRT and I own a Hellcat. There is a HUGE difference in power IMO. It's a whole different beast to drive.

How many miles are you getting on a full tank with your hellcat?

Hey Mike, I have a question for you. I am trying to decide between a scat pack and an SRT 392. I am wondering if the adjustable suspension is worth the extra money for the SRT? Or is the set suspension on the scat pact good enough? We would take it on a few road trips but mostly would be my daily driver.
@mikebythesun6 жыл бұрын
Chasin' Cars Try them both out. I honestly didn’t care about the adjustable suspension when I was shopping for my current 392, but once i started to use it I really liked changing it up. My wife hates a bumpy ride, so I keep it in default (street) mode when she’s in the car. I personally like the hard feel of the hard suspension when I’m running the car hard, so its great to just hit a button and instantly be in that zone. Is it worth 8-10 grand over a low 40s Scat? Probably not. All in all I think the Scat is the best bargain out of all the Challengers. Plenty of power - and heritage, which the SRT and the Hellcat lacks a bit IMO.
@chasincars75756 жыл бұрын
mikebythesun good to know thanks! Although I have to say, after watching your full video I may just save up a down payment and get a used Hellcat instead! Also, do you know how much of a difference there is between the manuals of a 392 and a HC? My wife wants to drive it as well but not if the clutch is super heavy and I've been told the 392 manual is much easier to deal with than the HC manual.
@mikebythesun6 жыл бұрын
Chasin' Cars yes the HC clutch is heavier for sure.
@Gooddog16 жыл бұрын
Since the majority of cars depreciate of the lot, and you still have coverage on the warranty isn't better just to lease especially for lower payments? I understand the downside of leasing.
@mikebythesun6 жыл бұрын
Leasing makes sense sometimes. If you’re going to let it go after a few years and just get another new car, and your driving mileage is going to be low, it makes sense to do if the price is right.

What's gonna happen when they drop the demon price. HhhMmmm
