I bought a Hellcat last week and had a choice between the Hellcat and the Sig. Without having fired either one, all I could base my purchase on was a few reviews I had seen on both, and the examination I had at the time. My take on the two was: 1. I have large hands and the Hellcat felt better with the wider grip...even though the narrower Sig would have been slightly easier to conceal. 2. I liked the rear sight of the Hellcat. It seemed more visible and had a better sight picture (to me, anyway). 3. The dealer had a special going on. With the Hellcat, not only did I get a very good price, it came with an 11 round magazine, a 13 round magazine, and FOUR 15 round magazines.

XL hands mean the larger beavertail on the Hellcat prevents the slidebite I was getting with the 365. If you have larger hands, be sure you shoot the 365 before buying. My EDC is a Sig p365 and I dearly love it. Also have a Springfield 911 in .380 which was my EDC until I bought the 365. Surprisingly they are close to the same size except in width. The 911 is now a b/u but still well liked. Intrigued with the Hellcat but don’t anticipate trying it. The p365 is a perfect pocket gun as far as I’m concerned with the nicest trigger of any gun I’ve ever shot. Absolutely love it. Springfield triggers don’t feel as nice as the Sig. @ I don't like manual safeties or grip safeties on a defensive pistol. I don't want to be fumbling to disengage a manual safety if I am drawing a gun for a defensive purpose, especially from pocket carry. With grip safeties you always have to have a good grip but you don't always have an opportunity to use a good grip in a defensive situation. Just one more step to take a little more time and that something can go wrong. I prefer a trigger safety that is part of the natural action of putting the gun into operation but still gives a little more safety against an accidental discharge. Like I said, I'm a SIG fan, if they came out with a factory version of the 365 with a safe trigger action I'd buy one.

I haven’t shot the Sig but the gun doesn’t recoil much for me. Very controllable. Mag dumps staying on a 10” steel plate from 7 - 10 yards. The trigger feels really smooth for me and naturally pulls straight back for me, which is one reason why I chose it over the Sig. @BagsEsquire4 жыл бұрын
localguy8 yes IWB. It’s so small though I bet it could be carried OWB and not print at all. I would try OWB but the only OWB holsters I like are Bravo Concealment and they don’t make one yet for the XL, only the standard 365. Right now I use a Glaco Sto N go that I had for my XDS I use to carry and it happens to fit it perfectly. As far as belts I just use a standard leather belt from Kohl’s. If I was carrying something heavier I’d buy a specific carry built but this 365 is so light there’s just no need to have to get a super stiff belt.

I just got my Sig p365 to replace the Hellcat that was not very reliable. I really wanted to like the Hellcat, but was having to many issues with the gun to feel good about carrying it for self defense. Even after sending it back to Springfield for 5 weeks, it came back and had the same issues. I have a Springfield XDS 9mm that has never given me a bit of trouble, just no luck with the Hellcat. I will agree, that the Hellcat is a snappy little gun. I really like your comparison on these two guns.

I went to purchase the Sig P365 or P365XL. The XL trigger is real nice and I felt the best of the three (including the Hellcat). The XL had a sweet sight picture and came within seconds from purchasing it. Then my gun guy said he just opened a Hellcat and I should check it out. What sold me on the Hellcat was running the firearms through function checks. The Hellcat was smooth and both Sigs were stiff and would not run a function check as "most" handguns would. I love Sigs. My P226 MK25 is probably the sweetest firearm I have ever owned. I shoot it great and love how it agrees with my sight picture. I really wanted to love the P365, but I could not get the 365 or XL to run standard function checks that 90%of handguns run. Neither firearm would cycle the slide with the trigger pulled to test the reset and both were extremely stiff to cycle. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but the shop owner was just as confused. The Hellcat was smoother all around and after shooting it, I was not disappointed. I would say I am a bit above average shooter and was hitting 10 out of 13 round into 10" steel from 25 yards and fist sized groups at 12 yards. I have about 300 rounds through it and no issues out of the box. The mags are a bit stiff to load, but with my Glock mag loader its no issues. I sold all my single stacks due to the limited round capacity, accuracy, and snappiness when shooting, but missed the ease of carry in the summer. Real happy with the Hellcat. Easy to shoot, 13/1 or 11/1 capacity, accurate, and terrific sight picture. The trigger issue....easy fix. A buddy said why would you buy a handgun you have to fix or adjust, (I had learned of the trigger issue after I bought it, and it does exist) but why buy a Glock then polish or replace the trigger, replace the springs, firing pin, and other trigger parts.....Its what gun junkies do! Enjoy !

Just wanted to say as far as the night sights go that some people would recommend a single large dot up front for easy fast aiming in a stressful situation. So personally I like the idea of a single less busy glowing dot up front to help in low light conditions and short distances like in concealed carry.
@kencorsell80874 жыл бұрын
I’m sure Sigs logic in offering (2)10 rd magazines with the gun even though they had bigger capacity mags was getting the gun into all 50 states, then if your state allows you can obtain the larger capacity mag if you want it. The are any states that the Hellcat can’t be sold in!

My P 365 CAME with 3 - 12 round mags, no extra cost. Fantastic as using them it fits my hands perfectly! So far nary a problem However to be fair, I paid $65 for better/more visible rear sidhts. My brother with his Hellcat is asking ME to find him better rear sights for his Hellcat! LOL! Compared both the P 365 and Hellcat at the dealer. Did Not like the Hellcats sights OR trigger. Once I shot the Sig, I found rear sights not to be visible in low light! ☹️😭😬

Had both guns and once I got to 500 rounds, I sold the P365. Very good guns. Honestly, the shooting of each gun was interesting, You hit the bullseye on the 1st Hellcat shot and proceeded to hit everywhere but the bullseye. I found the Hellcat much more accurate and when I hit the bullseye on the first shot, the rest followed. More attention to shooting focus and less to drama on slide release and mag drop. Just saying.

If the Hellcat had the rear sites like the Sig P365 it would be a perfect weapon for me. I didn't like the feel of the Sig 365, it's trigger guard was not as comfortable as the Hellcat, and that was immediately apparent. Unfortunately the stores near me did not have the Sig P365 XL to compare against the Hellcat. I liked the mag release and the grip on the Hellcat better. The Sig P365 was about $30 more, inconsequential price difference.

@@shojus Thanks for sharing. I think if you are a first time gun owner looking for concealed carry. Latest and greatest is awesome. If you are carrying anything around the Glock 26 > PPS > Shield > 938 era and so on. It doesn't make a lot of sense to "upgrade" right away. It might soon though, as current development is great and pistols are getting smaller and smaller.

@Blind Spott no, it's more like I have a truck instead of a horse, I have 4 wheel drive instead of 2 wheel drive in the snow, I have a drill instead of a screw driver. @harrycallahan97333 жыл бұрын
9:04 The biggest different for me is the grip. My hands are medium to medium large. I can wear medium sized gloves, they'd be snug; large gloves fit me loosely. P365's grip is sloped at the bottom, whereas Hellcat has flat bottom. This makes P365's front strap seems longer, and that is the key: with shortest mag and flat floor plate, I can get three fingers on the grip with P365, with maybe 1/5 of my pinkie hanging but it doesn't slip off when I fire the gun. With Hellcat, I can get at most 1/5 of my pinkie on the grip. It slips off as soon as I apply a little force gripping, don't even need to fire it. Hellcat's height is shorter than P365 (4" vs 4.3"), but for me if I want three-fingered grip, I have to use the extended floor plate with the 11rd mag, and that makes the height 4.5". Something to consider when you are buying these guns (P365, Hellcat, Max-9, Shield Plus, GX4, and R7 Mako) for pocket carry :)

Sir, Outstanding objective comparison. I prefer the trigger on the Sig 365 vs the Hellcat which I have only dry fired at a gun store. The Sig 365 trigger is lighter per your review by almost 1 Ib vs the Hellcat which I found noticeably heavier vs the Sig 365 and grittier when dry firing both side-by-side at a gun store. (Hands down Sig 365 has a superior trigger vs Hellcat) I have owned and sold a-lot of conceal carry including Kahr CM 9, Beretta Nano, Glock 43, S&W Shield (still own) Ruger 380 LCP 2 and my current go to Sig 365. I have big hands (L-XL gloves) and reliability & accuracy should be important to everyone in a concealed firearm. Beretta Nano was the least reliable, followed closely by the Kahr CM9 The Glock 43 for my large hands was always pulling to the left but never failed. (My Glock 19 is dead-on accurate.) The S& W Shield has never failed after 1,000 plus rounds and is accurate. The Sig 365 is also a very accurate weapon in my large hands but I have had a couple misfeeds. I pocket pack using kydex holsters and the Sig 365 is a better pocket pack weapon vs the S&W Shield and 3 extra rounds in the Sig 365 is a big plus. To this day my Sig 365 is my concealed weapon choice. In my opinion there is not enough pluses with the Hellcat vs the Sig 365 to justify purchasing a Hellcat and/or switching out conceal carry firearms.

I like how even though you had a good reputable attachment to the sig p365 you still put it in your left hand shooting side by side. It's a small detail I noticed and it's things like that that make a huge difference when doing what you do. Even though new, you tried to give the springfield a fair comparison and I appreciate that. For me, I am torn. I hate trigger blades and the udot sight. I agree that the 3 dot xray sights would be easier to line up in the day and especially at night. The one extra round is appealing but the ergos do look more like a 2x4. I held the p365 and it was amazing in hand, I have not held the hellcat yet. I'm really upset with sig because they always chose a route that is proprietary, but maybe they have the rights to do so. I like how springfield managed to find a way to mount a small optic on a sub compact or micro compact, whatever you want to call it and you should have mentioned that in the video but I'm not bashing it was a great comparison. You have hands on i don't, our hands are most likely different. But I am ever so slightly leaning towards the sig too. Not sure if a red dot is really that important for defensive carry when most engagements are within 10 meters. You should try to make a video on how much an advantage a red dot on a micro pistol would give you and if the accuracy of a pistol that small would even benefit from having one. I'm sure others would be interested if not yourself. I am an 82nd airborne veteran, with a decent amount of experience with firearms and I appreciate what you do because I do not have the money to dish out for these tests and your evaluations often help me make an informed decision without buyers remorse. You have this down to a science, keep doing what you do.
