Hello and thanks for watching this video, I hope you enjoy it! Apologies about the small glitches on the Galactic Map, some of it isn't as perfect as I would like it and there's a couple of issues with it like at 15:47, I have the Turing battle occurring on Meridia instead (which is why there's a glitchy black hole). I went a bit overboard with the map, its basically a massive file that I could zoom into for different scenes - worked well at the start while editing but near there end when I was adding in more and more planets into the finished map it ended up pretty much freezing my computer when even previewing it 😬. This video ended up taking my computer 43 hours to render!!! So I thought the annoyances are not too bad to torture myself again 😅 Hope it doesn't ruin the overall experience too much!

@@mrj4990 Yeah my voice is something that I have been trying to improve and its obviously not perfect yet, and yeah, its my presentation voice I guess you could say as opposed to how I speak normally. Hopefully I can make it better in future videos!

Destroying Meridias super colony has been my favourite thing about this game so far. The shrieker attack once you completed the mission was so much fun

Watching the shriekers pile up in the sky and rain down was so satisfying. Meridia and its aftermath might be my favorite gaming memory of all time, because normally-chill friends finally cracked into rage or terror, but morale made sure we always won in the end.

Loved this recap! I recommend making a timelapse of the changes of the galactic war map as a separate video. With limited or no commentary to show from a map perspective how the war has evolved.

That would be great to see. The map that I made for this video is a huge resource sapper though so would take a very very long time to render!!

Recently jumped back in after not playing since April, this video was a great recap to catch up with what I missed. Thanks for that. Although I'm a bit bummed out that the GW in HD2 is different than HD1. In HD2 it seems to be a never ending stalemate, where as in HD1 the GW would end in a win or a loss. Then the wargame resets and a new GW starts.

I really enjoyed this. This is very well written and well edited despite the hiccups here and there. Please don't mind some of the negative feedback in the comments too much. Stylistically speaking, your narration is completely valid as is. There's always room for improvement obviously, but you recapped the year with remarkable efficiency. Only 20 minutes, but all major plot points were covered. There's just enough of the satirical humor without doing too much of it and ruining the bit. There's excellent pacing between developments on all war fronts. And to top it all off, all major unanswered questions were highlighted at the end (GREAT way to send it off, very satisfying!!!). The only point of feedback I have about your narration is that it can lack clarity of enunciation at certain points (it's still completely legible though). All in all, this recap was such a great fucking idea. It really made me appreciate all that's happened with this game this past year. Thanks for spending the time to put it together! Happy new year!

With the other comments its always good to listen to criticism, it helps me try new things I haven't though of before! But yeah ultimately I make videos for my own enjoyment, and it's gonna be impossible to please everyone, so selfishly I'll make myself enjoy the videos first! Happy new year!

I really hope they make a "horde" mode or "extraction" mode where we are really swarmed, have limited uses per stratagem and the goal is to simply survive and get to the pelican, the lore could be the extracted Helldivers have critical info on the enemies.

I really like the approach you took here. No disrespect intended for other recap videos, but I much prefer very minimal role-playing and just telling the story of the game, and including the in-game broadcasts and dialogue is a huge plus. This'll be THE video i send people who want to catch up on the story.

Thanks! That choice was done in June, you're right I didn't have it in the video! It was a choice between saving children or obtaining the anti mine weapons, and with the children being saved Arrowhead made a donation to Save the Children. I was a bit torn but skipped it in the summary as Its flirting with a bit of metagaming and had minimal impact in the galactic war apart from a weapon that was constantly not obtained anyway! All factions had different enemies appearing throughout our timeline. For example: Bugs- behemoth charger +spore charger, impalers, alpha commander, and shriekers Bots - chromed out bots, jet brigade, at-at tanks, reinforced scout strider, factory strider, and gunships.(guess the hulk counts when they had that op cannon) I’m not sure if that was intended to be left out

Great comment! Yeah I glossed over a lot of the smaller variants just to make the timeline a bit easier to digest, but the Spore Charger was one I actually forgot about! It was quite a big change and helped the terminids quite a bit (It appeared in June )

The only thing that doesn t add up to me is the fact that the terminids can travel through space. Are you telling me that their spores can travel ftl? Because if they could not it would take such and exorbitant amount of time for them to get from one planet to another that the spores are neglijablae

The FTL fuel is dead termanids. Which means their bodies naturally produce FTL capable particles.

If only helldivers 2 came to Xbox too, oh well sucks to suck for xbox players, but sucks to suck even more for Super Earth.
