Finally a helldivers prop video without 3D printing

Real x2. I just feel kinda stuck with 3D printing techniques because they all require you to buy model files ($10-$15), and then send it to a print shop to print it. Not against 3D printing, it is just not viable for a lot of people (or too expensive), because it can cost you $100 just to get a simple model printed (paint job not included). I'd rather spend my money on paints because that is the part I enjoy the most. And unless you are going for a cosplay contest, I don't think it needs to be THAT polished.
@thomaswakefield6889Ай бұрын
@@GooiYingChyiyou do know that you can get 3D files for free as well. As I already said in another comment. 3D printing cost just as much as foam building. Hell I build armor out of leather as well. 3D printing and foam built armor are easy to do. Learn how to build armor using leather and I bet you won't complain about how expensive 3D printing is
@bestwing81765 ай бұрын
This is more lore accurate. with how fast Im dying in helldivers 2, theres no doubt in my mind that the cadet armor isnt made out of foam.
@GooiYingChyi4 ай бұрын
Well, it never says it isn't, so it remains plausible. (More likely than you'd think).

@GooiYingChyi4 ай бұрын
Yes, I feel that 3d printing is overrated. But it is just not viable for most people unless you already own a 3d print shop.
@thomaswakefield6889Ай бұрын
@@GooiYingChyilol I own several 3D printers as well as 5000 dollars worth of foam building materials. It cost just as much to 3D print a helmet as it does to foam build one. The post processing is damn near identical with just a few differences. 3D printing gives you better details while foam building takes less time to create something. If you are into cosplay and con conventions I suggest learning both. Also a person can buy a really good 3D printer for as low as 150 bucks. The most costly product to buy for 3D is the printer, the price of the filament or resin varies but usually no more expensive than the cost of buying foam

Nothing against ypur craftingskill, your stuff looka awesome. But you skip so many steps and without bendmarks its hard to get the shape, plus some seem to be mis scaled, mostly the whole ''Bill'' stuff :/
@ashenwarriorprops5 ай бұрын
Yes, I stated my angles were bad in the bill shot, I’m used to having to make things super accurate and takes a lot of time, I often struggle to convey my methods, I’ve had no issue with scaling on my end, could potentially be a printer issue, appreciate the feedback. As for registration marks I’ve been doing this for so long that I rarely need them and often forget about them.
