Counter sniper was +S now it's like... The same lol I mean I don't have to aim for headshots on bots but I still end up getting headshots. The only difference is how squishy Berserkers are and how I can reliably go thru the Scout's armor about it. I think the point was to be able to use other things without feeling like you have to min max and just use the guns that feel right.

Bro ran out of ammo while using a supply backpack and he still said that the mag buff should come with a max mag nerf... SMH. All the other decent primaries don't need a supply pack, and they will run fine. All 3 Liberators need double their max ammo load to be viable. Regular Lib and carbine both need 60 rounds + 14 mags, and Lib Pen needs 45 rounds + 14 mags, at least. Then there's some argument to taking it over something like the Scythe o Sickle.

No way you think the scythe is better, liberator is great and way better if you individually aim for each bug instead of just sweeping your crosshair over the mass of bugs, and trying to mow them all down. It can 1-2 shot hunters, just don’t overshoot and you can take out close to 10 hunters a mag. Scythe deals no damage and doesn’t reward good aim as well. Sickle is good on ammo capacity but compared to liberator, doesn’t have the same damage output after the buffs. It’s a good sidegrade.

Yeah, his tierlist video is jarring and say he wants them to buff the amount of rounds in a mag but reduce the mag amount. That doesn't solve the problem. Assault Rifles in this game are just horribly outclassed, unfortunately. Penetrator is good, but ammo is just terrible, but most weapons have that problem. And I get reloading a lot is annoying, but the damage sort of helps it's case I definitely believe it's not the worst assault rifle at all like BG thinks it is.

IMO, assault rifles are just not viable against bugs. None of them. I see be brought a supply pack. You shouldn’t have to bring a supply pack for a primary , much less assault rifle. Assault rifles need help in this game for sure. They simply don’t have the ammo economy to warrant their usage in high difficulties. Mainly for bugs.

They struggle on bots too but for different reasons. You don't need to fire as many shots to kill, but precision is king and AR spread makes them struggle at taking out devastator heads and Scout strider legs efficiently.

They need to give Heavy armors a buff too, they should be 200 rating, or at least give us a specific jagernault armor with Extra Padding bonus to push it to 200 rating. Coz right now there is really really no reason to run heavy armor.

Especially with how stamina is so important in HD2 cause of the size of the map, as well as the constant movement required to stay alive. Heavy armour should be HEAVY. Maybe make it that they have 200 armour, and whatever passive they have and they all have different protection perks. Some explosion, maybe a new melee protection, and obviously arc, fire and gas. And if they become ‘too tanky’, just reduce on hand stim to 3. I only ever use the heavy armours when I’m having fun, because I honestly find their low stamina more of a hindrance than the positives of more armour.

Lib Pen shines on the bot front alot more, it has a marksmen zoom and allows you to take out targets way further out than any other assault rifle, the med pen makes short work of devastators with headshots. in all reality not every weapon will be the best on all fronts and this gun is a bot gun

Yes, I agree. But there is a caveat. This buff made the adjudicator feel pointless now. It used to fill this role. I think they should have bumped the damage of adjudicator a bit to 90 or 95. Currently its not that big of difference from lib pen but it has a lot more recoil - specially because they did it for sniper rifles so the adjudicator was left with only the cons and no pros.

The advantage of the penetrator against bugs is that it is overall average against all non-heavy armor targets, with a bit more focus on the light stuff compared to Adjudicator. Its greatest weakness is the magazine capacity, which means trigger discipline and saving shots is useful. It, like many weapons, benefits from a higher-power anti-medium(ish) support weapon to get it out of a jam or having an ally nearby for the same effect. Pairs well with the liberator guard dog, grenade launcher, flame thrower, autocannon, and the like.

it has decent damage since its med armor pen, the downside is the magazine size - when shooting you can really feel its stopping power, paired it with grenade launcher and supply backpack, you can just traverse the map alone to finish some side objectives

They could give it a 45 round standard mag, hear me out as i explain on a "stat-card" level. Liberator: Replace standard 45 round mags with a 60 round SureFire style extended magazine and reduce overall mags to 7, increase RPM to 700. Liberator Penetrator: Replace its 30 round short mags with the 45 round standard mags and reduce overall mags to 8, increase rate of fire to 700. Liberator Concussive: Increase ammo capacity of the drum mag from 60 to 75 rounds, increase RPM to 350, give it incendiary effect. Liberator Carbine: Reduce damage to 65, makes no sense for it to have the same damage as the Liberator, replace the standard 45 round mags for a 75 round magpul style magazine and reduce overall mags to 6, reduce RPM to 900, that way it could be slightly more controlable and increase the longevity of the drum mag even if by a fraction, while keeping a still high RPM, plus just the number 900 have a nicer sound to it. Adjudicator: Increase mag size to 35 and increase overall mags by 1, increase damage to 85, increase RPM to 600. Tenderizer: Increase damage to 100. (Thats it for this one, Tenderizer is still one if not the most balanced weapon in the AR catergory) *Reason: More RPM (still on the controlable side) and more ammo per magazines equals more and faster kills* Currently, I say its the Liberator Carbine that is the strongest AR-23 variant in the game right now, they really did not thought it through when they given it and the standard AR-23 *the exact same buffs* and given the nature of the Carbine, its obvious that it benefited the most of it.

Penetrator should do 75 damage its supposed to be a higher AP liberator at the cost of a smaller magazine which makes sense as the regular one is 70 with a 45 round mag. It doesn’t feel that great against bots but maybe 45 rounds instead of a damage increase is a good idea too

AP rounds dosen't do higher damage, they just zap through the target, it's the same caliber of the standard Liberator just using specialised ammo, FMJ rounds always did relatively more damage than dedicated AP rounds

I can understand the mindset behind the lower ammo capacity vs the light penetration rifles to keep it from overshadowing the normal Liberator, but I still don't like it. Even if it got a bump to 40-45 rounds, it starts to tread into just being a direct upgrade from the Liberator, so I wouldn't mind it having an overall lower ammo pool. Bump it to 40rd mags, and 6 spares. You lose about 50 rounds total, but you gain that much-needed additional up-time on the Lib Pen that's really holding it back against bugs. Then again, it could just be a gun that isn't meant for bugs, since the lower ammo capacity isn't as much of a pain point against the lower enemy density on the bot front.

Every Liberator rifle should get a drum mag of 50-75 rounds per drum. 60 for Concussive, 50 for Lib-Pen, 75 for Lib-Standard and Lib-Carbine.

The lib penetrator needs higher dmg then the base lib (or just higher durable dmg) Even with medium pen youll still need to aim for weakspots to kill in a reasonable quick time period (mag dumping to kill 1 Devastator if you don't aim for the weakspot is ridiculous)

It wouldn't make sense for it to have higher damage, if fires AP rounds, AP just zaps through a target doing minimal damage. But higher durable damage is a good idea since its still penetrate, therefore damage the armor more than light pen FMJ that dosen't penetrate armor.

This and the adjudicator are tough to run with out a supply pack. I honestly felt like even the adjudicator is underpowered. It often took 4 shots to take out a Hunter cuz their legs kept getting in the way. I think all the assault rifles still need a bit more damage: Tenderizer = 110 Adjudicator = 100 Lib Pen = 90 Lib and Lib Carbine = 80 Lib Conc = 70

Seems to work like an AR, can get the job done but is hungry. If it was me I'd prefer adjudicator or concussive but I'm impressed the buff was enough to get it out to play 🙂

Having used the Adjudicator, I can't recommend the Lib Pen anymore, for anything. All it has in it's favor is better handling,* but you only need that for light armor targets in general. The Adjudicator just does it's job better. I will say, both preformed better against bots than bugs. For close range knockback matters on medium armor targets, no matter which one your fighting. I echo your sentiment on the reloading and magazine size. The Adjudicator hits hard enough that with proper recoil control to land hits, you get enough work done per mag, LPen doesn't. I'd honestly upgrade the base Liberator/Carbine by (say) +10 rounds per magazine, and do +20 here (keeping the base Liberator at a larger mag size.) if it were up to me. A reason for that? Breakpoints. You blew open that Impaler's leg armor, emptied a magazine, reloaded and put in 3 rounds before it died. Those breakpoints _matter_ for weapon feel and few things feel worse than that. Knockback could help, give it the 'mini concussive' role I suppose. I think the biggest sign the LibPen needs a bit more buffing is that this footage? This looks like pre-patch gameplay from two weeks ago to me. Constant falling back and firing is a big part of that. (Oh lord, "I feel like an NPC." is exactly what LibPen feels like.) Recoilless does do more per hit than the Quasar, and I'm fine with that. (What I'm not so fine with the EAT hitting exactly as hard as Quasar, which they do currently.) * I include recoil performance in this reflexively, sorry.

Man, yall don't know what you're missing. In Helldivers 1, the Justice (what the Liberator Penetrator was called in HD1) was goated. It could bore through all but the biggest targets, but was rather ammo hungry, having less ammo per mag than the Liberator or Patriot. (The Patriot was the Liberator Carbine equivalent). And keep in mind, I don't even think the Justice was in the top 5 best primaries in HD1! That goes to the Trident, Sickle, Tanto, Paragon, and okay I guess its in the top 5. Probably #5, being slightly worse than the Paragon. Then the Paragon is #4. Then those other 3 weapons I mentioned are laser weapons which were absolutely busted and fight savagely for #1.
