Yeah, at first I was thinking alien would be tough to beat but then he brought up a point that they're like the terminids and I said: "In that case, just another Tuesday" I also think the absolute paranoia of the government and its people make Super Earth extremely resistant to the first two factions. Nothing like disregard of human life! If nothing else, just napalm barrage the affected area and then brand the helldivers there as traitors and traitor barrage them with napalm. Necessary sacrifice for democracy folks! Kaiju could be a problem for regular troops but if you add the destroyer into the mix I have to disagree with him about them being immune to stuff it throws down. Is it going to soak up a bunch of fire and a new one sent in to better combat the prevailing tactics? Absolutely. But I've seen the movie and played Helldivers and the Kaiju still bleed when hit with a big enough slab of metal so the humble precision strike is going to be your bread and butter. Mimics I do think are a big threat due to time travel and the fact that Super Earth won't listen to affected Helldivers, thus putting them in a very vicious loop as they are executed for being traitors. Also, the scientists of Super Earth are surprisingly adaptable, so I'm going to say it depends on if they figure out the alpha thing. If they do, Super Earth simply issues weapons designed to permanently restrain Alphas instead of outright ending them, thus sidestepping the time travel trigger and potentially harvesting this time travel function for Super Earth's use and causing another Terminid situation of could end it but choose not to. More Helldivers would be lost trying to restrain rather than simply killing but it's all worth it for managed democracy!

@Whazzupie2 ай бұрын
@@Rhino-Prime I imagine Helldivers training is the last part of their training because they are picked based on their aptitude scores during regular training, because they'd have no prior knowledge of how to load and reload their large arsenal of weapons otherwise. Also the missions are borderline suicidal, so it's smart (sorta) to have only the most devoted in their ranks, even if they're likely to die they can be assured they'd fight til they physically drop. There's a blurb when you talk to the lady by the engineer that strategems are so expensive they are solely FOR Helldivers, so being taught to use them is specially made for that program. Their training is still, otherwise, hilariously short lol SEAF forces not much better, which are 'volunteer' conscripts that train for a minimum 72 hours. Also an interesting thing to think about is that a lot of Helldivers are on standby, but they were likely frozen in reserves for decades. Those missiles we see in base defense missions are actually Helldiver pods attached to the same rockets from the tutorial-- they're not ordnance like the mission says, they're the frozen reserves.

You're missing one thing with the Mimics that's important: If you kill the queen, it's dead for good. No time resets at all when the queen dies. Remember, they killed it in Edge of Tomorrow 'in the future' and then went back to the start of the day and the queen was dead. So, if the Helldivers can stop the queen from landing on the planet, say by shooting down asteroids above a certain size as a matter of planetary defense, the invasion is stopped before it begins. There's also that if the attack Super Earth launches against it is powerful enough to reach and kill the queen, the Mimic invasion is dead.
@rougarabid3 ай бұрын
They were slowly able to kill it due to Cage getting thousands of chances to reach it via the time bullshit and a device that allowed him to mind fuck the omega to find it’s location something Super Earth doesn’t have.
@RedneckRapture3 ай бұрын
@@rougarabid Dammit, you made me go and do research, my brother in Christ. This'll be a bit long of a post. Now that I've looked things up, I think you're overestimating the Mimic's abilities and underestimating the capabilities of Super Earth to counter the Mimics. The Mimics can't target and destroy the Super Destroyers, nor can they really shut down Eagles from making attack runs. This means the Helldivers have a distinct firepower advantage over the Mimics. They can't even set up ambushes for the arriving Helldivers because the Super Destroyers can bombard the area the pods are landing in to wipe out anything there. The war in EOT is also a much different beast than the war fought between Super Earth and her enemies. In EOT, the war had lasted 5 years and the Mimic only took over Europe. Humanity, going on current military numbers, would have lost about 30 million soldiers of its total military force if it was fighting a war and steadily driven back, including their equipment. That's enough to exhaust most of our modern nations. Even so, the omega felt the need to trick the humans into committing the bulk of their remaining reserve forces in an attack so it could kill them off. That indicates the omega felt there was still a very real chance that the humans could defeat it and keep their planet, otherwise why take the risk of having happen exactly what happened in the movie? My bet is that the omega could only create a drones at a reasonable rate, nowhere near rapid. I'd estimate there were probably somewhere around ten to fifteen million drones on Earth during the movie, with that alpha in the movie being either the only one or one of two or three and being present only at very important battles. Anything more and they'd be overwhelming humanity easily at every stop and there wouldn't be a front line. In Helldivers, for contrast, in the 9 weeks that Malevelon Creek was fought over, 27 million Helldivers died and 376,36 million Automatons were destroyed. Super Earth, the Automatons, and the Terminids are able to throw so many bodies into a battle with the Mimics that they simply cannot keep up in a war of attrition, no matter how many time loops the Mimics do. Being able to loop as much as you like doesn't turn something with a 0% chance of victory into a victory. The individual omegas can extend out the campaigns on each planet they're on using their time bullshit, but they simply will lose wars of attrition on each world until Super Earth realizes that if they kill the omega, they kill the infestation. At that point each planet's battle turns into a pitched defense of the omega in one or two battles, allowing Super Earth to focus as many Helldivers on that one battle in that one day as needed to win.

I'm unsure if even in their home turf xenomorhps would get advantage cause helldivers got laser, plasma, flame and electric weapons. And while laser and plasma might be argued to wound xenomorhps making their blood a problem (although laser weaponry having infinite ammunition without reaching overheat), flame weaponry and high voltage weaponry completely bypass that. On top of that arc (electricity) weapons have a literal infinite ammo and arcs up to 4 targets on a single shot, so with something like arc Blitzer (whis is an infinite ammo shotgun that blasts a wide burst of high-voltage electricity that arcs between all units) or arc thrower (which deals enough damage that it drops bile titans in several shots) the xenomorhps would essentially get cooked as even with their speed the shot is semi tracking to the target so one helldiver could drop 4 xenomorhps with one shot and then proceed to maw down their entire nest dropping xenomorhps like flies with his comrades and at the end pull out the arc thrower or flamethrower literally frying xenomorhps queen in seconds...

@@whywright2663 Interesting hypothesis. Ill have to check on some of these claims like the laser/plasma weapons having no ammo limit and also no overheating, cos that sounds like an OP af weapon. Also, while your arc weapon claims sound good, not sure how they would effect Xenos, and if 4 at a time with an arc is really gonna slow down a possible swarm of xenos, or even a single one stealthing around. They have been shown taking gunfire, and puncturing metal with tails. A queen is also gonna just sit around and let herself be fried, on more than one occation, in the movies, the Queen has been show walking around in, and escaping fire. In Alien Isolation, a regular drone is onky barely slowed down by flamethrowers as well, meaning you wont be able to just cook them up. With Helldivers traveling in teams of three, and arc weapons bouncing between up to 4 targets, thats still only 12 xenos at a time that they can focus on at once, and again, not sure how electricity weapons effect Xenos, so it will be interesting at least.

I said it gets the knowledge. I said I wasn’t sure if it got the memories but likely would. Once it’s discovered that the Thing is on the planet it will be quarantined and anything attempting to leave the planet will be shot down. So no it’s unlikely it’s leaving.

Yes, and no. 🤔 It's very plausible at least one it's slipping, becoming the cockroach of the galaxy. Not all citizens or SEAF troops in the Helldivers world have the knowledge to build a spacecraft (fortunately). Granted a Thing gets more intelligent the more big it becomes, small forms are very instinctive and animal-like, it's possible it could build one depending on who it's absorbs. Based on what we know, it plausible the Thing would likely want to move to a more populated area of the planet to spread further but also flying to a spacecraft isn't out of the picture. Yes, it cand deceive and ambush, but by using the fact that the Thing only years for *self-preservation and spreading itself* , you can easily deduce it's next steps by keeping these two factors in mind. But in my opinion, due to how violently social and numerous we humans are, we could easily detect one before it's too late. It happened to the Norwegian outpost and the Outpost 31 with relative ease, just send a message to a Super Destroyer, quarantine the area and done!

If The Thing starts out on a heavily populated planet or just any area with large amounts of biological life (a Terminid controlled planet would be catastrophic) it will spread like wildfire. Couple that with its ability to assimilate the knowledge and personalities of those it comes into contact with and things will snowball completely out of control in no time and doom the entire galaxy to the point where the Automatons may be our only hope and even then its not guaranteed since by that point The Thing would be able to combat the Automatons using the knowledge and weaponry of Super Earth.

The Kaiju come from another dimension, the rift is opened from another dimension completely underwater. The Kaiju themselves are not the aliens, their the weapons the aliens send to kill off the humans. And what makes them so freaking dangerous is that because that portal is open they can just keep sending more and more through it at whatever pace they’d like. In the movie they managed to send a Jaeger through the rift and blew a nuclear bomb on the other side, stopping their advance for decades.

If the Thing gets on a civilian planet with flora and fauna, it will take over MUCH faster than you think. The only reason it didn't immediately take over Earth in it's own movie is because it's in a frozen tundra and doesn't have access to biomass, if it dropped in a forest the entire planet would be fucked. Also, if it assimilates even one person who can fly a spaceship, it WILL get off planet because it has all of their memories and would know that Super Earth will destroy it eventually if it doesn't spread out. I also believe it would be much more stealthy than it was in the movie. In the movie, it was starving for who knows how long before it came into contact with people so it would have immediately attacked. After it had assimilated one person and knew how isolated they were from their memories it would really have no reason to hide anymore, because it knew help wasn't coming. If it both had ready access to food in a temperate area and knew that Super Earth would just glass it if it got too freaky, it would absolutely lie low. It might even get a part of it onto Super Earth before anyone knew what was happening, and we don't know what the defenses of Super Earth actually look like. If it hasn't been invaded in hundreds of years then it's quite likely that all of it's defenses are focused outward and it won't be able to respond too quickly on the ground, which would give the Thing enough time to spread and become a real issue.
@lejenddairy2 ай бұрын
Thats what I’m saying. Anyone who’s actually seen The Thing knows that the Helldivers wouldn’t stand a chance. The Thing is an extinction level threat. People think the terminid population is bad, the thing is infinitely worse. Quite literally. We are talking about a species that not only can spread rapidly and indefinitely, but can also take on the form of anything it’s came in contact with, with 100% precision and has the knowledge of everything it’s ever assimilated.
@shaness1122332 ай бұрын
@@lejenddairy I mean, it's not 100% that The Thing would get to Super Earth. If it is found out before then, the Helldivers have a fairly high chance of black hole-ing it into oblivion. They cannonically CAN just delete entire planets, after all. If it DOES get onto Super Earth, though, it will immediately destroy the entire propaganda pipeline that is the backbone of the government. If the populace can't trust each other not to be compromised then everything would fall apart like a large-scale version of what we saw in the movie, and I don't think ANY fictional government could hide The Thing from their people if it really got rolling. The problem is that detecting The Thing once you already know it exists is very easy. The Antarctica base only had 10 people and they still found a way to pinpoint it. I imagine a ultra-authoritarian, propaganda based government would have no problem mandating regular blood tests from anyone who is using their.. air space, but in space? Space space? If a ship refuses the check it gets deleted, no questions asked, and people celebrate it as a victory even if it was someone who just had a faulty comms module. I'd say The Thing almost always wins if it gets to Super Earth before it's found, probably 25%-ish win rate if it spreads to multiple planets but not Super Earth before it's found, and guaranteed loss if it is caught on a single planet.

Before the first galactic war in the introduction of the helldivers the battle zones against the main opposition and early cyborgs caused for some continent wide exclusion zones so polluted and destroyed government and civilian access is prohibited. Bug planets are also incredibly polluted by the bugs. A single spore spewer can form a gas cloud large enough to black out a city. Almost every single sector in a Bug planet has 1 for each helldiver mission. Hundreds of missions happen a day on that one sector, you get the idea.

To be fair, the Viper commandos who are less armored are also basically close quarters specialists, so it actually wouldn't be surprising for them to get the Alpha blood. They use knives, carbines (shorter ranged assault rifles), and sawed off shotguns if we go by their warbond offerings. Also there are the Helldiver scout/light armors which are way weaker and seem to have a lot of cloth parts that the acid blood could possibly get through. Something I want to correct. Super Earth has not been fighting aliens for hundred of years. As far as I am aware, Super Earth has fought in only two galactic wars, the first being the war against the cyborgs (there is strong evidence the Automatons were created by the cyborgs), The Bugs (now called the Terminids), and the Illuminate. The war may start again and again after every time we win or lose in the first but that's not actually cannon. After Super Earth won the first war, there was 100 years of peace with Super Earth entering a 'Golden Age' with no major conflict against any other species. The second Galactic war started when the Automatons invaded on the west side of the galactic map and the Terminids broke out of containment on their Homeworld and have begun to spread once again. Super Earth hasn't been fighting aliens for hundred of years but that doesn't mean they aren't ready.

Terminids don't have a homeworld, they only broke out of containment on planets and rapidly bred for the express purpose of making E-710, which accelerated their aggression with the rapid breeding.

Xenomorph acid, even relatively small quantities, are shown eating through quite a bit. Maybe the armour protecting from caustic attacks would overcome xeno acid, I belive its 100% resistant? But normal armour? Id argue xeno blood goes through standard armour. On the other hand though? As soon as super earth discovers this (soon)? All warcrime enthusiasts would be sent to the xeno front and their equipment along with.

Kaiju aren’t bred, they are cloned. Have you never seen the movie?!? The precursers clone them and send them through a rift at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean to invade and blow up a volcano in order to finish terraforming the planet. The planet wasn’t fully polluted yet so the Kaiju were sent to finish the job early so the precursers could move in.

My guess with the tutorial is it’s a sort of graduation. You face life fire tests, have to actually kill some real terminids that could kill you, have to treat actual injuries to yourself etc. It’s a graduation/final test. Not the only training. Clearly your Helldiver has extensive training because he or she knows how to use a ton of guns and vehicles.

Another point to the helldivers being trained is the team assisted weapons, if you were to put someone in that position without training, there'd be problems reloading, communicating, misfiring, and whole load of other problems. It requires both the shooter and the loader to be in sync and know which word mean what and when the gun is ready to be reloaded and when it is ready to be fired.

Would the Helldivers survive a covenant invasion (including termanids, super earth, and the automatons)
@DragonChief1573 ай бұрын
Probably no, or even hard no. For one, the navy cruiser of super earth is never shown or alluded to having ship to ship combat and they get regularly blown up by planetary defenses. Plus, they look smaller and weaker compared to even the prowler of UNSC which is a stealth ship to support space battle and not good at direct engagement. 2, even if they do, many people keep forgetting this, UNSC, were losing, and almost lost, and humanity almost going extinct alongside it, and the covenant full might of their forces aren't even taking the war seriously until the first halo blew up. In halo, human didn't win the war, they just survived long enough to have master chief plot point of pissing of the major factions between the covenant and indirectly causes a civil war by blowing up the first halo which happened basically 5 decades into a war of survival where human were constantly hiding and preventing their ships from being boarded because they don't want the covenant to know the location of other major human settlements and most importantly earth. Finally, hell divers are going to lose badly in an engagement against covenant ground troops. One, their support of their destroyer is not guaranteed, because covenant always have orbital superiority, because their ships are just better. Two, even if the destroyers are supporting the troops on the ground, they can't deal with elites, or brutes. Those troops are really fking fast, they are always stated to be just as fast as Spartans and even stronger than them. Elites have their shield, and brutes are just going to ignore most of small arms through sheer monke power.
@bigdiddyzp17623 ай бұрын
@@DragonChief157to add on, im not sure exactly how it works but I'm pretty sure every covenant troop will avoid or react to the giant fucking beacon that is either a red warning or a blue "I dont have a support weapon yet" sign

@@DragonChief157 The Helldiver Super Destroyer is smaller and less armored, but it is nowhere near as under-armed as you make it seem. The real problem with fighting them is the fact that there's at least a few hundred thousand, all with the capability to travel from one end of the galaxy to the other in seconds. What many people forget is that unlike the UNSC, Super Earth is not hurting for resources and they have blatantly superior logistics. While the Spartan Laser was prohibitively expensive to produce, Super Earth has been able to mass produce all their energy weapons and ship them to the front. Even experimental ones. Helldivers have already fought and defeated the technologically superior and psionic Illuminate. They possessed personal shields that ranged from weaker to stronger that those worn in Halo. The average Helldiver would almost always have enough firepower to defeat an Elite or a Brute unless they completely neglected to bring AT weaponry.

If me as helldiver in the game can throw a orbital or 500 kg strike right at my feet and still have time to run away far enough to avoid the damage, no questions the elite covie troops can't do the same.

The thing with Mimics I think people don’t get is that when time resets, we don’t know that it happened. Everything that happened that day is repeated until the mimics win, it’s like fighting a battle but the enemy knows every move you make because every move you make is set in stone. The time reset can’t be controlled by a Helldiver, it’s not that simple. Yes when you die time resets but you’re not lucky, you don’t know how to get to the omega or how to find it, there’s nobody that it happened to before to help you. And once the day resets, the Omega knows that there’s someone else in the loop. On top of this, they could just slam themselves into a far planet of the super earth controlled space and while they’re fighting their mortal enemies. The mimics just spread and grow, fighting four enemy groups at once on four fronts is not easy especially when one is completely unknown and has time-fuck powers that you don’t ever know about
