tbh, I swear that chargers are the most inconsistent enemy ever. Sometimes even my shotgun will do mega damage to its legs, and then the other 60% of the time the charger deflects absolutely everything.

Because some weapons like the recoilless rifle can strip the armor from the legs, and without the armor the legs take a ton of damage even from smaller weapons

I think all enemies in the game have some random delay time before actually being dead. Just to add this “danger” feeling of when you decapitated a bug and it’s still swinging at you for a few seconds before dying. This or lag 😅

It's not every enemy, it's specifically the hive guards and another type I forget the name off. They have a mechanic where blowing their heads off gives them a few seconds of swan song. If you shoot their legs off instead of their head, they either die outright, or are immobile for the bleed out time. ​@jy3406

Railgun strikes don't seem to kill them in one shot anymore, but after blowing up the soft parts, it will go down. If it doesn't, its only a couple grenades away.@@torgrimhanssen5100

My friends almost always goes railgun but they always ask me to go autocannon because it helps with clearing out a bunch of the medium to smaller enemies. They know I can take down a tank with a railgun easily but they said no one else knows how to clear out bug holes/fabricators along with some side obj (gas towers/broadcast station) as well as I do with the autocannon.

Good to know the AC can penetrate partly chipped armor and it doesn't need to be fully stripped. Because there's no way that gun penetrates intact armor. AC I find is great for Medium Mob control and anti-swarm Tatics. I think the AC could benefit from contact explosive round's and would make it a beast of a gun for taking out chargers and the like.

My tips is diving is very very effective for the autocannon. During the dive, the hip fire aim remains surprisingly accurate. This lets you deal with close ranges super effectively, as diving reduces explosive damage also, meaning your worse case scenario isnt dying, but just being launched far away from the enemy with about half health, giving ample time to reload. Even then, with good movement, the autocannon wont even struggle that much at close range.

You can do a lot of cool stuff in easier difficulties(5-6), which to a degree makes it more fun to play. However do not make the mistake about expecting this to work on 7+, at least not solo. When you get 3+ Chargers or 2+ Titans you have to adapt your loadout to the difficulty.

I love the sheer DPS of the autocannon. Sure, the railgun may be better for a single target, but you can eviscerate a whole platoon of elite enemies in a flash.

Should mention how you can take out automaton fabricators by pointing directly at the vent so it defelcts into the vent destroying it. There are also some side objectives you can just take out instantly with the autocannon.

See, what me and my friend have been thinking would be cool, is what if they added a feature that lets us change the ammo types to be more suited towards specific tasks. an example would be the autocannon being switch out for APCR rounds that can actually damage chargers and bile titans armour, but as a drawback it only hold half the ammo, and no longer causes explosions so it cant close bug holes. or we can use High explosive rounds that cant even penetrate the frontal armour of a hive guard, but have a MUCH bigger explosive radius. I just want more viable options for anti-armour than just the EATs/recoilless/spear and railgun.

I get annoyed at every “Shield + railgun is better than autocannon” comment They are instantly missing that auto canon lets you take 3 strategems with it… so it should be comparing Shield + railgun compared to autocannon + an extra strat other than the two you’d take with the rail gun For instance I tend to take Shield + Railgun and the eagle air strike and 110mm rockets cause they are super dependable. But when I run auto canon, I can take those two strikes… and a laser strike, or an orbital rail canon, or a mortar/ems mortar, or any other powerful strategem to fill out my or my teams abilities

@@WayaliciousTV102 cd with 9 sec uptime. is not that much cd in my opinion. it feels like its always up when you need it atleast to me. another good variant is the eagle clusterbomb. plenty of uses and it has more clearing power but does not cover you for long but you can throw them in multiable times. once you need to rearm tho you need to be a bit more careful.

Yup, vs. bugs it is worthwhile, the automatons sadly require 2-3 hits. My favourite execution is to use the pump-action slugger, let the little and medium melee bugs jump at me, bash them in the mandibles and follow up with a slugshot. Saving ammo is a necessity vs. bugs. It also makes for some bad-ass-ery.

I've tried the majority of the game's weapon stratagems and autocannon is by FAR the most effective for me. I've tried the railgun and arc thrower several times, but I was left unimpressed by their overall lack of power and the lack of versatility of the railgun (I REALLY don't understand why people like(d) this weapon so much, and yes, I used the unsafe mode). Sure, the autocannon forces you to use your backpack slot (so no shield generator, jetpack or rover), but it definitely makes up for it with its versatility and raw firepower.

If they let the auto cannon strip the charger armor from any angle like the railgun does, I will legit never not use it. It is so satisfying to use. But, as of right now, the charger is the reason I won't bring this to any bug mission higher than Suicide. You have to bait it into a charge, dodge it, then hit a specific spot from a specific angle to make it work. Too many steps, too much time. In a highlevel swarm event you won't have that kind of room. Plus the lack of a shield backpack means that you will get maul to death by the horde around the charger. Not viable to me.

I do think the autocannon is a decent gun, however it does take up a backpack slot, which I would rather have available for a shield or rover. Railgun even after nerf is still good, I always used it in unsafe mode anyways. One shots medium armour targets, can still strip charger leg armour, and I'm sure it still can one shot bile titans. If not, well, I've seen some success in one shotting them with railcannon

Could you elaborate on the smoke strategy? How are you using it? What’s your goal/possitioning, Are you running through your own smoke first or something to try to clear line of sight? is it to draw the enemies into the smoke? I’ve found the smoke can sometimes do almost as much harm to my teams visibility as to the enemies

The smoke tactic here on AC is to provide you cover in distance while unleashing annihilation. As you can see one of my teammates is on top of rock and a horde is coming right through him. Small stalkers can leap unto him. So what i did is i call a smoke strike to reduce their vision and therefore they cannot leap unto him. And on top of that if you're in a mid/long range most likely they will detect your bullet coming out of your position. On that matter the smoke did help me to reduce their visions, detection radius and they stay all in the middle. Most likely it's like an EMS but with 3 charges.

auto cannon madly underrated. that thing fucks with orbital rail orbital laser and 817s. also not totally useless at close range . if you angel it correctly you will aoe kill the guys close to you and launch you backwards. its hard as fuck to do it right though. you must be full hp too so hit a stim and shot the ground

I knew about the half reload from my time fighting the Automatons, but I've been using a mix of a Rover and a Grenade Launcher for the Bugs to avoid wasting ammo on the legions of tiny critters. I might just start using the AC on the bugs to make more room for Aircraft Ordinance... After all, I didn't know the back of the legs on the Chargers were vulnerable to this tactic. I only knew the front end required heavy penetration to prevent deflection, even with Grenade Launcher rounds.

Only issue ive had with autocannon is just trying to hit the eyeball of hulks while they are moving, i absolutely love it and while the railgun is good, I put that thing down for good when i circled behind a tank and found out it does no damage to the weakspot. Sooo it's autocannon for life for me and im not even mad, do wish it was compatible with shield tho, but im not gonna expect someone to hold my ammo for me.

The whole problem is having to bait the charge with the autocannon. While you're waiting for it to charge, other enemies are swarming. I'd rather two tap the charger in the leg at range before it and its horde reaches me.

1:49 not as useless as one might think it is. Impact from close ranged shot will send diver flying for considerable range, enough to get away from melee enemies with luck. Only problem is having enough health to not die.

I swear if you could autocannon and personal shield generator back pack it would be amazing but you need someone with the ammo back pack. I suppose the gunner could use a shield pack and they could have a friend carry the autocannon ammo pack, and you could 2 man it.

Nice vid! But in my case I’ve always got my rounds ricocheted when shooting at a charger’s back legs from behind 2:53 , I wonder how that works like u showed in ur video😢

The charger becomes vulnerable after a specific animation. It has to be straight charge, so if he charges you and follows you to the right or left it won't work, he has to complete a full straight charge, stop and then turn around. As he stops and turns around you can even injure him with your primary, he somehow loses his armored properties, so you can easily kill him in 2 autocannon shots. Otherwise you have to aim at the backside of his legs, so either shoot him from the front into his back legs or from the back into his front legs. The back of his legs are not armored. This method requires precision, but can be done.

It's the BUG that hitbox and armor box are out of sync after the charge animation. So don't depend it to kill charger.

I mean, the tips for nice, for everything else, but no you aren't taking down a Bile Titan with this. You have to launch a Railcannon on it before you can even harm it with this, and at that point when half it its side is exposed you can kill it with anything you fire in there, plus its 50-50 it'll just die to the Railcannon anyway. This is the reason it is outclassed by the Railgun, because it can 3 shot Bile Titans without Railcannon, with AutoCannon, you can maybe, huge maybe that you can kill it with emptying your entire ammor stock into it on perfect weakspot hits.

They have different strengths and weaknesses. Railguns Pierces any armour Autocannon doesnt. Railgun cant do AOE damages unless it's straight. Autocannon can do No sweat AOE Autocannon can easily seal bug holes Railgun cant. Railgun can do 3-4 shots bile titans Autocannon can do that too, but with the help of stratagems. That's the reason why i make these videos. To show the people what these guns can do if can be paired with good and right stratagems. If you're a railgun player then go for it have fun. And that's kinda of the point, Railgun can take a Titan even in 1 lucky shot, Autocannon can onyl finish the job after the strongest stratagem, which is a gigantic difference in resources.

People always use the autocannon how they would an AT, single shots, careful to aim perfectly so they don't waste ammo. Bitch, the autocannon has *50* rounds, you can afford to spam it, especially if a teammate helps you with the reload.

You can take down Devastators in 1-3 hits anywhere on their torso You can one-shot Striders from the front if you aim to their crotch. no memes. The Autocannon damages the Hulk's Eye-slot, its a tough shot, but you can take them out in 2 hits You can destroy Fabricators by shooting the center of one of the vents, because the shot ricochets and hits the inside

Its even better against bots. Shooting for the face works against everything. Really 3 hits anywhere kills anything but hulk.

Depends on the playstyle of a player, but overall they're both great in my opinion. They have strengths and weaknesses that can fill the gaps of each other to make a great composition.
