This song is like the game in that it's fun on the surface and a scathing criticism of humanity if you're paying any attention

In song there is nothing that criticises humanity. At best you can point out dehumanisation of ones opponent but one, it's the only way to fight and kill without either beeing a psycho or going insane, and two, nothing in the song shows that there is anything near human in those opponents. Machines and insectoid monstrosities are hardly a good hardware for humanlike minds existence. That is unless you want to build up some sort of additional structure through which you wish to interpret this song. And Helldivers don't criticise humanity. They show how democratic system through legislative controll and coertion by government and corporations working togather lead to loss of freedom and the principles of democracy. If anything the world created criticises governmental and corporate overreach.

Since it is made very clear that humanity is evil and to blame for wars and the subjugation of other races. 1.-The terminids are not "monsters", they are simply animals that exist and that's it. The campaign to "exterminate" them begins when they realize that when they decompose they create fuel and here comes the campaign against them, which is why in all the commercials they say that they "eat the children", it is a satire of what was said. before the communists. 2.-The automata are only creations of cyborgs, which have been enslaved by humanity for 100 years. The cyborgs did not mess with humanity or the super earth, they simply wanted to live by their own rules and a campaign against them began. 3.-The illuminates never attacked humans. On the contrary, everything was peace in the beginning and humanity attacked them when they realized that they had weapons of mass destruction and did not want to share them with them. So yes the acting, dialogues and lore of Helldivers is not only a criticism of the government, it is also a criticism of humanity and how we act.
