I was there when it was happening. I saw it turn into the black hole. My destroyer was surrounded by a black and blue shroud and we were FTL'd away.

SES Blade of Justice reporting! Good job everyone!!!! Many of our fellow Helldivers perished in this campaign to destroy this vile Terminid supercolony, but they and many other of the other poor human souls who also perished on Meridia shall rest in peace knowing their deaths were not in vain and will do down as martyrs!!!! For Super Earth and Managed Democracy!!!!!!

SES Herald of Peace. We were just a couple flotillas away. Turns out the forced FTL evacuations were premature... Super Earth rounded up a couple squads of volunteers and sent us straight back. The "black hole" didn't resemble or behave like the simulations, and worse, Meridia was still down there. At least eight of us dove in to see if a few more injections of dark fluid might finish the job, and spaghettifi Meridia for good. None of us thought we'd be going home. The planet's worse than ever. But if the scientists are right, and all our sacrifices were worth it, then maybe that hellhole stays buried. Maybe it really is a black hole sucking up all the Terminid spores. But it only seemed to pull on our ships about as hard as denser stars. And whenever I touch things, or listen to silence, or try to sleep... I feel intangible, like I'm not really here. Like I'm still *down there.* And instead of that normal ringing in my ears, I hear the resonance of the Herald of Peace singing under the strain of *the hole.*
