Thank you so much for putting this together. I need to do some research on the lots because that topic always confused me. Oh and I never knew the reasoning behind a planet’s dignity 😮 In my practice, I use psychological astrology, but I’ve been doing research on Hellenistic lately.

Thanks for this video and for putting together all of this content! That was very helpful for the hellenistic astrology side as I have been until now more interested by the humanistic/person-centered approach.

Great historical retrospective. I do a mix of trad and modern. Traditional missed the boat hard on the octile and quintile, discovered by Kepler but not used widely until the 20th century. Had a bit of a conversion during a Uranus transit toward traditional rulerships ironically (and a few other aspects of the traditional system, exaltations, fall, triplicity schemes, concepts like under the beams, cazimi, etc.) After years of dismissing traditional astro as fated and superstitious and trying to make a modified modern system work when it worked only some of the time bec the outer planets don't work the way they are described. I have not found the outer planets to work well as sign rulers and they only express in people's lives when aspecting a major intermediate planet (Saturn or Jupiter ..or the Sun). Just about every description of Neptune square a personal planet is a slightly modified version of Jupiter square. The only difference is, the event is measurable and actually happens in a Jupiter square or matches a natal Jupiter square. The Neptune square descriptions just don't line up with reality. And there is so much groupthink in modern astrology... With traditional, we have thousands of years of texts from different eras. Not groupthink and school loyalties.

I personnally use Placidus in my practice and I am more interested in what the chart shows about the psychology (I would even say soul) of the person than events. I also believe that Placidus and modern astrology can be used for both internal and external matters. I have noticed a lot of external events being portrayed in birth charts using modern astrology, even though I don’t focus on it. Jupiter is also transiting my 9th house and it’s funny to see that I myself have been feeling very interested in learning more about the « why » in astrology, like « Why does this house is associated with those themes? Where does it come from? » and so on. I am really glad to follow my journey alongside yours and am very grateful for all that you have taught me. I follow you since 2017 and started my own astrology practice (professionally) two years ago. Thank you again and I wish you the best 💫
