I'll start out by saying that I've never even played a Wipeout game before, barring two tracks of _Wipeout 2097_ that came on a PS1 demo disk. So the fact that I just finished watching this after also watching your earlier videos _WipEout - The Teams_ and _WipEout - Through the Ages - The Weapons_ (and found all three absolutely fascinating) is testament to just how well put-together and entertaining you've managed to make these. A nice mix of professionalism and slightly more informal quips, I'm stunned at how informative this is regarding a game series that I've basically never even played. Serious kudos.

You forgot about Mach 1.1 to Mach X (or the highest as it is for Mach speed in the WipEout 2048 mode). Although understandable, since this speed class is only available in Zone mode *(if you're 'suicidal' enough to reach Zones 100+ to 200+).*

@bleepin6 ай бұрын
Since I figure some people still frequent this after buying the game and still learning how the game works. Hellfire also has a tutorial for Wipeout HD and I highly recommend a watch and a play of HD before trying 2048. Reason being that 2048's speed classes are different and much faster than HD's. With HD you are able to get acclimated to speeds a lot easier, and by the time you are done HD's campaign, you should be ready to tackle A and A+ speed class on 2048. As explained in the video here 39:41 Not to mention 2048's AI is a whole world over different than HD and Fury. With HD and Fury you have the option to change their behavior, Novice -> Skilled -> Elite This allows you to get used to some tracks and the speed classes before taking on Elite AI. In 2048, you do not have that option, the AI are on a set mode for the campaign unless you play racebox

Good that i found this comment. HD was already frustrating enough, to the point that i de-installed it, after 10 hours trying to get into it. It was my first and only WipEout and i didn't play it in 13 years.

2048 was a very bold decision in art direction, but really interesting at the same time, it was the most realistic the games had ever looked, however this did dampen some of the series staple themes if you asked me, it's still a great looking game, but I actually prefer the Vita version over the Omega collection offering.

(31.45 if you're wondering what my best time was, ironically done with ag systems prototype, because of its double barrel rolls) It has been so much fun getting back into it, and seeing all the elite passes I have had on the entire campaign! Welcome back, Hellfire! Good to see a new video and yes. A+ Challenges are brutal indeed. I felt like I was getting bullied at the beginning, just trying to move up from last place resulted mostly in getting hit by a stray missile. I even got rammed off the track or onto the splitters on some track sections, effectively bringing me to a halt.
@davidsapir37647 жыл бұрын
This tutorial video is so freaking good on so many levels, it should've come with the game. Thanks Hellfire! I'm so glad you can reconfigure the controls. I've never liked being forced to use my right thumb to control three separate buttons for thrust, firing weapons and absorbing weapons. I've found that by assigning firing weapons to the L3 button on the left thumb stick, it really helps simplify the whole control scheme while making it more efficient. Your right thumb is now free to sit exactly where it wants to naturally; resting on a left angle and sitting comfortably on both the the thrust button and the weapons absorb button. Firing my weapons with the L3 thumb stick feels perfect because now I'm steering, aiming and firing with only one button instead of two. This allows me to far more quickly and accurately aim and fire at just the right time. And my right thumb is now always stationary and never again has to make that awkward "smearing" move to the right to hit the circle button and fire weapons while also having to keep the thrust button pressed. In combat races, this simple one button configuration change did wonders for my weapon accuracy and overall race results. If you're someone new to the game or looking to improve your combat race results, I highly recommend giving this a try and hope it helps you as much as it helped me.
