People who are worried about licensing, criminals don't have licensing and have a HUGE advantage over everyone. What's particularly disturbing about this poor man not being able to get through to 9-1-1, is that he wasn't calling at a crazy busy time (which would be bad enough), he's was calling at 4:00am in the morning - multiple times. That fact that there wasn't an operator available at that time is terrible. Earlier this year I had to go to Emergency and arrive at 4:30am. I remember thinking that it shouldn't be too long a wait in the middle of the night. I was there for eight hours. What the hell has happened to our emergency support services?

I remember calling 911 once about 30 years ago. I was truly dismayed to hear a recording that said "All our operators are currently serving other callers. Please stay on hold and the first available operator will help you." This just seemed surreal to me. Luckily, I wasn't on hold very long and someone else had already called to report the same incident so it wasn't a long wait for an emergency response. From this video and the comments below it, it seems that 911 operators have gotten MUCH MUCH worse since the time I called them.
