You should try the calville shawl by Merryweather Knitting! It calls for a dk weight but since it's a shawl you could definitely use sport and just have it either be a slightly looser gauge or a slightly smaller size 🧶

What a wonderful time I have had binge watching all your knitting videos. You have inspired me to try to knit my first sweater. Could you please suggest a very easy, beginner friendly sweater pattern? I have knit hats, scarves and am now knitting a shawl. I can’t wait to see how your finishes turn out. I also love all the socks you knit. Maybe after I knit my first sweater, I’ll tackle my first pair of socks. Thanks for all your wonderful videos!

For men’s socks (or any sock) you can knit a longer heel flap and that will give you more picked up gusset stitches to give more room in the heel/ankle. For your Festival Sweater, I would knit the sleeves first. If the sweater is a little shorter than your ideal length, you can wear it over a dress and it will still look beautiful.
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU for this tip…I will totally give it a try on the next pair! I have seen other people do that for sweaters but I never wear dresses 🙈 I just recalculated the yarn I have left last night and I think I will have enough after all! 🎉
@tatersprecious58272 жыл бұрын
Yep, I was going to say knit a longer heel flap. I have a high instep, so I have started doing 36 rows for my socks (I knit on 2.0 needles) and then picking up more on the sides. It should help with that area stretching!

Have you seen Driving Me Daisy steering wheel cover pattern on ravelry? It’s by Tennielle Lamar and it’s soooo cute!
@trish3kimble1632 жыл бұрын
I love your sweater that you are wearing. I have been experimenting with sock fit. Some things that have helped are 3x1 ribbing down the leg and top of foot, making my heel flap 4 rows longer, and after trying them on, I may or may not decrease all of the gusset stitches immediately, but leave like 4 for 10 rows then decrease them in the foot area.
@truelaneknits2 жыл бұрын
Oh man these are all such good tips! I’ll have to implement here and there and see how it goes! Thank you!

So nice sweater😍Do you knit an asian sprout when you knitted this sweater? I don’t know how to translate korrekt in English, but I mean the difference between two parts of the sweater. Is this a reglan method? Reglan from the top?
@thatgirlnickyy2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had the same issue with mens socks!! it’s so frustrating. I made my dad a pair and made sure to use ribbing the entire sock so it’d be extra stretchy and it fits but it is so hard to get over that ankle bone arch diagonal area. My boyfriend also had such a hard time pulling them over the same area even though they fit both their feet perfectly. It’s so annoying

@debraevans28392 жыл бұрын
@@truelaneknits true, but it would give you an idea of how much you have used so far. If you add the amount of stitches together for both sleeves that should give you an idea as to the amount of stitches on the body. Hey, i’m no expert, but it might help. Im playing yarn chicken myself at the moment🤣
